I am OBSESSED with Lithops.... They are like rainbow butts, so cute!!
Oh then you’ll love Conophytum pageae. They look like they got lips on them. And bunny succulents are really cute too.
I don't have lithops yet but this video helps me. I'm also planning to buy that.🥰 gaganda pala nila.😍
I’m just now a new lithops owner! Thank you for all of your wonderful videos.
Good luck on your lithops.
Thanx Liz...I saved this for my use later this week. Just waiting for my substrate to come in
Good luck!
Fantastic video Liz. I’m going to have to repot my little lithops with your recipe 🥰
Hope they'll like it.
Pretty Excellent Lizzy! Right on target.❤️❤️❤️. You are the best 😍😍😍
Thank you for sharing!! My seeds just came and I am so excited to have beauties like you!
Wonderful! Good luck with your babies.
I love so much with all your collections
omg ..thank you ..now I understand ..because I notice my succulent soil had too much bark and I accepted but I didn't like it. I will be removing most of the bark looks more refine and manageable Thank you 🌵🌿🌏
Glad I could help!
LOVE this! Thank you, Liz!👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Would like to grow some lithops but I need to learn more about them. I've grown other plants mostly carnivorous plants to mangrove trees to more mundane succulents but lithops are much more challenging to me.
Oh thanks for sharing your recipe for making lithop soil ✨✨✨
My pleasure 😊
I'm not interested in Lithops for myself but I like looking at them.. Great video thanks Liz I think it is always good to give alternatives like you have here for people who are unable to get certain things.. Awesome.. Much love to you and your family :)
Thanks for watching!
Beautifully demonstrated...
Thank you!
Good video, thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching!
very informative & nice video and presentation... dear Madam
Thank you for watching.
Great video!
Would suggest beginners to go for 80 to 90 percent of inorganic and rest organic:)
Very amazing beautiful you have a blessed day
Thank you! You too!
very nice many roots.
Many many thanks.
mama lizk hopefully this episode of lithops continues eheheheg I love po your videos🥰🥰
More to come!

I usually put the big gravel on the bottom. I'm that lazy to smash it 🤫😁
Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thanks for watching!
Awesome I want to grow those plants.
Hardly any maintenance Rosa. Just have to wait for the flowers and enjoy. I also like giving them a pat on the head everyday and they don't complain at all...
Haha!!!
And would you happen to have a brand of the sand you used please ?I just got 4 baby lithops and I’m getting ready to transplant them
I get all my rocks/sand/granite locally.
Awesome video! Where do you get scoria here in Canberra?
Bunnings.
i think i like them lol. idk the skin kinda freaks me out a little haha. im so bored liz, not being able to buy anything right now cuz its too cold, we got 18 inches of snow last night and im afraid to order any plants by mail. the last thing i got, aeonium lilypad got ROASTED by the heat pack. so idk what i can do. maybe semps. im assuming its too cold for lithops right? theyre just so cute.
You can keep it inside until Spring. My lithops have experienced minus 11°C/ 12.2°F in my 50% shade cloth zone. Next year, I'm exposing some on the front line full Monty and all. Some mature Sempervivum can be covered in snow and will grow or come back in spring.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK oh Liz, 😢 I've killed a couple of my sempervivums! I kind of forgot about them tucked away in the back corner of my grow light shelf and then I drowned them 😢 the ones that hung in there are standing straight up on their bottom leaves 🤣 the poor things are troopers, they're holding on! I stuck those ones directly under the grow light so hopefully they'll come out of it
@@janetac1738 Oh poor babies. Hope they survive. Grow Sempy grow...
Can you tell me when to water the repotted lithops, is it straight away?
I watered them straightaway. Here's a Lithops arrangement video that I did. Thanks for watching.🥰

Hello liz, what do you prefer to use as alternative with the granite? Pumice or perlite?
Pumice.
I love your music
Thank you.
thank you ate Liz for this tip 😘😘 my Lithops love it and they are growing chubbier now.. i love all your vlogs and they are really helpful.. God bless you always ate Liz 😘😘 love yah 😊😊😊
You’re welcome 😊
Hi Liz can this soil mixture be used for cactus & succulents - don't know if I'll find scoria though.
Yes it will for certain family of succulents. Echeveria, cacti, Euphorbia as an example will take this soil but not for your Aeonium, senecio, Crassula, etc as they prefer a bit more moisture.
Could I mix some cactus and succulent mix with lava rock?
Yes you can but just make sure you sieve your soil first to get rid of the big pieces of bark. Thanks for watching.
Hi liz, I'm a prospector too! We have a heap of river rocks and sand from panning, can that be used? Or does it need to be more clean or refined? Its basically straight from the river bed, through a classifier then into a waste bucket 😂
River sand tends to hold on to moisture and not good for Lithops. Scoria, basalt or granite or any porous rocks is best.
💜
🥰
Would poultry grit would work as same as scoria ?
Haven't used poultry grit, so I can't say.
First again 😃😁😂
You keep that up Juhn-wel and....😉
Good day😊
I will definitely keep this up😁
Hello. I just want to ask, how often do you water your lithops? Thanks
Since I have them outside...No more than four times a year.
I have a question, how do you know the watering cycle if they’re being kept indoors? I have low light in my house so they will be supplemented by an LED grow light. Also when they arrive next week they will be bare root.. should I water them after I’ve planted them ?
Indoors or outdoor, you water when the soil is dry or if the pot is light. Cuttings should be first rooted before watering. No roots, no water. The video below might help. Cheers

You cannot water them when they change and make new plant and/or babies. Other than that just put them in pure rocky substrate and bottom soak when they look squishy and sad.
Can I ask what would be the best size pot for lithops , as in how deep does the pot need to be
Lithops has very short root system. I always start with twice the size of the plant first.
How many days before the soil of lithops has to be prepared?
They will last a long time. You can prepare and use in a few minutes or keep it ready in a container for years or when you're ready to use them.
🤩
Hi Liz, is river sand same as propagation sand?
Yes. Only that river sand is cheaper. 😁
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK 😂👍🏼
mam need po ba talaga palitan ang soil? bakit po hindi pwede na ung dating soil na lang from the seller po. thanku po sa sagot nyo.
You don't have to change the soil if happy yung mga lithops mo. But if they're not growing, then maybe the soil is the problem.
can you use this soil for any type os succulent?
I haven't tried it on other succulents but you could try it and please let me know how it goes.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Will do and thank you

Good day madam im from philippines i just want to know if how did you water you lithops? One's a month or one's every two months?
Since I keep them in the open, I never have to water them. They're only dependent on the rain and we've been getting a lot of rain lately and they're still doing great. In past years when we had drought, I water them heavily once a year or if when I see the leaves shrivel up.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK so the best thing is one's evey 1 year and a little drop of water 😊😊😊 thank you for the info
@@johnrenelle1591 No little drop. That's the best way to kill them. Water heavily if they start to shrivel up. Pag kuluntoy na ang tanim, malalaman mo na kailangan nila ng tubig. Kung mag-tutubig ka, dapat desidido ka at huwag patak patak lang at mamatay yan sila. Less often but more. The soil mix is the secret. Good luck.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK ahhh buhay.... Tagalog kapala nag ka pilipit pilipit pa ako mg english haaahaahaha sige po salamat sa info.... Haahaaah🤣🤣🤣🤣 napatawa mo ako

Does Lithops flower smell..??
Sadly no.

Ok din po ba yung pumice?
You can also use pumice in the soil mix.
I don't have lithops yet.
Something to look forward to Erlinda. Thanks for watching.
can someone tell me what kind of sand ?
Freshwater river sand is good but if you can get hold of granite or scoria, they're even better. Thanks for watching.
You have a strange pot and soil. Accept my respect and greetings. From Sudan
Thank you very much for watching Mohammed. Wishing you all the very best. Cheers, Liz
second
Thank you.
PLEASE wear a dust mask, silicosis is a horrible way to die.
Sure is, Matt. Thanks for watching and have a great day! 🥰
Never own lithops, they are so fragile for heavy handed watering
You only water them lightly twice a year.
