When Bjorns part of the solo starts…….goddamn, that sound is absolutely beautiful. It’s pure joy with the epic synth in the background. I love that moment in the song, just outstanding melodies…..which is what In Flames are greatest at. 🤘🔥

@@metalandrockzone For sure. They’ve been switching up rythm sections / lead sections as well, where traditionally Björn has done all the live lead work. Fun seeing them switch it up, must give a different flavour to things and make it more musically stimulating to perform, especially for Björn who has been playing some of these songs hundreds to thousands of times.
Thanks for an excellent upload video + sound quality wise! These sure do provide fuel for the day-to-day 😉

I was just thinking that, these line up changes can actually be a good thing for bands like these, they get something fresh in there. Did you see my full review of the concert? It is here in case you are interested. ua-cam.com/video/IHuhPYVLwus/v-deo.html

@@metalandrockzone Yeah! Assuming they're prepared to take on the challenge 😄There is after all some learning to be done, and habits to re-shape. Not everyone have the commitment or energy to do that.
I did catch it! It is what lead me on to these live videos. (ps it would be cool to have playlists with all the live videos from a show! Makes it easy to enjoy a sequence of videos making up the show)
Happy to see how extatic you were with the show. I know the feeling from seeing them a few times over the past 20 years. Caught em latest this summer. Earlier in their lifecycle they used to have a fantastic energy simply brought on by the pure power and aggression of their performances. As is only natural, this power diminished a bit along with maturation. Now I feel like they've acquired a fantastic energy that doesn't rely as heavily on the power, but instead melds a lot of different qualities (including power) into an overall fantastic energy.. and they seem to be having a good time.
The level across their discography is excellent, and in my biased perspective kind of requires a different measuring stick for comparing with a lot of other music in the world. The discography contains a lot of variance in the songs where you have some powerful, fast, slow, relaxing, mellow, optimistic, up-beat, and of course some of their earlier musical absurdities like Man Made God plus Wayfaerer...etc. Hopefully they earned the appreciation of a new follower ;)

Firstly, what do you mean a setlist? I have it in the pinned comment, is that what you were thinking or somehow in the video itself?
As for this band, it is indeed a very big variance in their albums. And some of it is stuff that gets a bit too corny for me at times. But one thing it all has is power and great sound. I think you are right, it is hard to somehow place this band in any one place or category and what I noticed at the concert was how bluesy some of the soloing was which was something I had not paid attention to before but gives them a unique flavour. I really look forward to hearing their new album next year as these three songs that they did from that one were all really solid. What other bands do you feel have come close to them live?

I'm so fucking mad at myself for never listening to this band. The 2000s I was into the emo shit and didn't get into real metal until later. This band kicks ass I need to see them live. This gave me chills. Awesome song. Thanks

Well, I am sort of on the same boat, I had listened to some of their more emo style stuff and never really liked what I heard so I never gave them a chance. In case you are interested then I did a full review of the experience there ua-cam.com/video/IHuhPYVLwus/v-deo.html
And you should definitely try and catch them on this tour if you are in Europe, they are also announced already for one festival that I will see this summer so I am sure there is plenty to come with their new album coming out in February.
      Thanks for watching
