I've seen a documentary about North Korean workers working in other countries. They can't work in another country if they don't have families, they need to have family so the North Korean government can use them as leverage, to discourage them from running away.

I heard it rumoured that Kim is a staunch supporter of Pyongyang United FC. Don't know if this is true, but last year they had a perfect season with a goal difference of 2948 for and 0 against. Impressive.

Every North Korean worker that work outside N.K. give 70% of their income to the state, but those who bring pride to N.K. they receive a nice apartment for free in the center of Pyongyang and a higher social status like allowing him to own a car , acces to things that diplomats have acces to and he even might have a diplomatic passport. Regular N.K. workers that work outside N.K. do not have those things but they still have to give up 70 % of their income !!!
