What happened to the old Candice?

  • Today's video is something I've held in for a long time. My Divorce. My Weight gain. My Voice change. My Life Change. The old Candice looked so happy on the outside but was probably the saddest I've ever been. I wanted to talk about it.

Almost all female UA-camrs started out with that fake high pitched voice and being overly bubbly. That was the expectation that women had to give into to get their videos viewed. I'm so happy that now in 2021 content creators are real. It's refreshing 😍😁😍.

People think of women are behaving "appropriately" they must be happy. If you're thin, wearing makeup, smiling, and acting upbeat men will ignore all of the cracks around the edges that make it obvious that it's just a mask. When women are comfortable and relaxed with their appearance and their personality then men assume they're depressed.
Can we all just understand that it's really the republican newscaster stepford wives are the most unhappy and the women with messy hair and sweats that are drinking beer with their dog and their plants are the truly happy ones?

One of the best pieces of advice that I ever got was-
Progress doesn't come from being comfortable.
Staying the same and trying to live life with the intention of being the person you were 2, 5, 10 years ago again will never benefit you moving forward.
You are learning and growing, changing and evolving, this is how life needs to be.

@Jessie Jay It doesn't happen magically .. it MUST come from within your own mind. I spent most of my life overcoming my dreadful fears! How? By stepping directly INTO them. Afraid of being judged, of losing face, of rejection, of performing in public, of being criticized, of being vulnerable, of not being good enough or smart enough or pretty enough or thin enough. You name it. It was only when I became engrossed in my favorite past times (music, rescue squad, study, spirituality, travel, languages, animal care, etc) that I lost interest in my SELF. My bruised ego no longer had a place on my list of hobbies. Cultivate the ability to laugh at yourself, think kind thoughts of those you really don't care for, help someone ELSE achieve the goals that you would have liked for yourself. Delve into your hobbies with gusto .. it's such a lovely distraction and is sooooooooo much more rewarding than feeling lost and unhappy in life. Good luck honey. 🌹

Wow, I remember 3 years ago thinking " wow she's really got energy" but would never have guessed it was a mask for what you were living through.
More POWER to you for living life on your own terms and finding a healthy partner. Thank you for sharing.

We explore, we learn, we grow, we change, we gain! I say bugger off to anyone who can not support you doing that! I'm glad you had the courage to do what was needed to be authentic. Keep it up girl from a 67 year old, divorced woman. It's better to be an imperfect authentic you, than a perfect version of someone else's version of you. Someone other than me said that, and it's not perfect, lol!

I’m so proud of you! None of what you’ve described sounds easy! Narcissistic abuse is no joke and recovering from it isn’t fun. Sound like you’re doing so much better and happier! And you look amazing! ❤️❤️

I'm happy for you! I'm glad you were able to get out of a toxic relationship and it lead you to find your true self! I honestly thought you were being more edgy just like the name of your channel but either way I freakin love your video!

I'm stunned to hear that there were so many comments on your 'weight'. I wasn't around for 'bubbly Candice', I've only ever seen this version of you and I have often thought: wow, I love how sensual and sexy and casual she looks, I would love a body like hers! Obviously I'm a heavy woman, but I always felt like your look was effortless (probably because you were clearly confortable in yourself!) and enviable. I was so glad to hear you say 'I've never been that' when it came to being called fat, because, lady, you are definitely not! You are healthy and glowing! And admired for how you look. What a shame that others are locked into toxic cultural and societal ideals that they thought a hyper skinny version of you was preferable. Based on the images and video clips you shared in this video alone, I can confidently say you are more beautiful now because you are radiating your authenticity. So, so much sexier!

I’ve loved you since I found your channel about a year and a half ago and when I watched your old videos I could actually see the mask that you were wearing as I used to do the same thing when I had depression and felt like I had to act a certain way and looking at the videos now I see how authentic, beautiful, and amazing you’ve become and I love it. It takes a lot to be able to let your true self come through when you’ve put on a mask for so long but it is also so freeing once you do it. I’m so proud of you and love that you’ve been able to be your true self. 💕💕

Thank you Candice for being REAL! I love this new version of you. I am 48 and I GET IT! I have been through so many transformations and I was 106 lbs at 37 because I was so STRESSED out and everyone would tell me how great I looked and I was so sad and miserable. I am now about 150 lbs. In the end, it doesn't matter. So true.....Linkin Park.
    Why is everything so HEAVY?
P.S. At 48, I decided to NEVER dye my hair again. I am going through an ALL natural hair transformation and I LOVE it!

I remember watching your videos every once in a while way back when, but I was off put. Maybe I actually thought it seemed like there was a fakeness? At some point when you had pink hair I subscribed though, because I really enjoyed your content, and watch your stuff regularly. I didn't realize there was a big shift, but I guess if I watched an old video I would see it
