We are some of the best fans for sure. Load and proud as are many other lower league teams. We are all loyal and follow our teams. We love football.UTG
The club's official nickname is The Pirates, reflecting the maritime history of Bristol. The local nickname of the club is The Gas, from the gasworks next to Eastville Stadium which started as a derogitory term used by Bristol City fans but was affectionately adopted by the team, their former home. Their main rivals are Bristol City, and according to a survey conducted in December 2003, Cardiff City and Swindon Town are considered the second and third biggest rivals.[4] from wikipedia.
Was at the game saturday 31/03/12.... We should have won but as usual had a shit ref and we couldn't put the ball in the net, Rovers came and played for a draw and credit to them they did defend well, my only gripe was that after Homes and Ritchie were both nearly seriously injured after too reckless tackles { high and very late } the ref only decided to give yellow cards. i'm surprised by rovers i thought they would be challenging for at least the playoffs this season.
The top 5 League Two away averages this season: 1. Swindon Town - 905 2. Oxford United - 858 3. Plymouth Argyle - 748 4. Bristol Rovers - 646 5. Shrewsbury Town - 639
There is no questioning PAFC support. To compare though you have to consider that you have been in the CCC for 6 years recently. You also come from a 1 team town and have had an advert on TV bigging up your away days! GREEN ARMY!
@jamesyctfc There are a few stories about this. Apparantly there was some over zealous stewarding? There was a medical issue which was mis-identified. I think the stewards/police got a bit excited because of the numbers. No need really because we are a good bunch in general.
the fact is though lanlodger, its your last home game of the season, and lets face it if you cant fill capacity when you cut admission prices in the championship then what are you doing right? Rovers away support is much better than city's as mentioned, fickle city fans wouldn't follow their team in the lowest tier. More loyal fans are definately on the blue side of Bristol!
chill out baby cakes, I know it's hard for you to take that city are a million miles away than rovers, but don't let that bother you, you will have forest green for rivals next year. Some cracking derbys there.
I've not been beaten-up twice by Man Utd fans, that's why. Perhaps I should forgive and forget, and we're all Bristolians at the end of the day. And I'd rather someone wore a rovers shirt than a prem club's shirt. But that aside ...
@bcfc473 What goes around comes around. 11mil losses every year, falling attendances, stadium problems, relegation form, SL looking elsewhere? The shadow is getting smaller.
@bcfc473 Make that 6 points off bottom! I can't brag because we are sh!te but it is fun watching you struggle. Especially when not so long ago you were 90 mins from the prem and we would have been finished. There are people talking about a derby next season! I cannot see us going anywhere but you guys are in trouble.
Having been beaten-up twice by fans of the family club for no other reason than walking along wearing my City scarf I have a slight allergy to bristol rovers. But don't take things so personally!
Wrong. you once took 64 fans to Hereford away, yes, 64 and you think you have the best fans in the world? we once took 4500 fans to reading away, more than your home support And in the lowest tier we were in we had around 8,000 fans.. what do the gas have these days, 4000? fact is you are miles away from yeovil town, let alone bristol city. enjoying league 2??? :)
Your banter really is terrible, you spend more time comparing city/rovers. Its obvious that there is no comparison, hence the two league difference. I have only ever stated that our fans are better than yours, nothing about the quality of the teams, city and rovers average the same away attendance this season, how bad haha, and thats not figures pulled out of my ass, you have averaged 80 more jesus christ.
Hey tony. You looking for some attention? Why not check out some GAS videos on UA-cam? Then post some childish comments and see what you get back. Belter.
when leeds were in league 1 with 15 points deducted and still in the play offs we took 4,000-5,000 everywhere, average home attendances were 32,000 so shut up chatting with your tin pot clubs...
We are some of the best fans for sure. Load and proud as are many other lower league teams. We are all loyal and follow our teams. We love football.UTG
in our "relegation battle" we had 19,000 fans at ashton gate.. yet rovers don't even get 5,000 these days??

Best fans in the league, the bloke says. But which league?
This game was Jan 2012 so the league was English league 2. That's division 4 in old money.
@@simicat79 I know. I was being ironic. So many clubs' fans claim to be the best fans in the league. Regards, N
@@1990-t1j I know. Hopefully my reply gave you the buzz. What constitutes 'best' is a better question though! ATB, S.

Find that very hard to believe Tony. You don't have to start making things up now to justify your pointless ramblings.
