I did it about the same amount. Try poison arrows and the poison sword from the samurai boss. Royal armor and archer helmet for armor. Once I had that I only died to the kraken when it grabbed the ship lol

Blade of Sorcery : more crazy play, Tales of Glory : Medieval and big army fight, Battle Talent : More crazy fight and combo, Legendary Tales : Multiplayer COOP and Darksoul like but expensive, Until you fall : Rhythm game, Grim Lord : Darksoul like, Iron Light : PVP, Swords of Gargantua : Multiplayers. There is so much more with their own little twist. Hard to see what is the best option.
I can't believe they don't put the least difficult levels in order! Thank you for point this out.

I beat this game in three hours my tip to you is to use the rapier
