- Well, he did it again, he had me in my feels. What a lyrically wonderful album to be released after his passing. I can only imagine and hope this album gave his friends, family and fans some peace and closure. What songs do you like most from this album? Let me know in the comments!
You can find me on instagram @shelbyshufflemode
I’ll add time stamps in the description soon. I just wanted to make this live ASAP and I haven’t had time yet! Enjoy the video!! 😄
It's ok. For more Jon Brion production, checkout Beck - Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime from the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind original soundtrack.
Can you react to Modus Vivendi by 070 Shake I PROMISE You’ll love it I promise
It's good, people gotta watch the video anyway
don´t worry, someone already made them in the comments!
Can you react to him performing Soulmate of his album The Divine Femenine:)

Your cape. Do you wear it?
You missed blue world fam.
Bro THANK YOU
the goat
The chorus in "Hand me downs" is him talking about him wanting to have children, "let's turn these gens (jeans) into hand me downs", making the track even more tragic. R.I.P
I never peeped that. Wow.
i definitely cried when i realized there is a three track run called "Good News, I Can See Everybody"
Track list wasn't completed when he was alive, so that was all done by his Producer.
I can see is a masterpiece
“Don’t you put anymore stress on yourself, it’s one day at a time” that was my senior quote last year, I feel like it can ground people who are getting lost in their problems. Love you Mac, rest easy & thank you 🤍
The guy singing on Hand Me Downs is Baro, he's an artist from Melbourne, Australia. Baro also did the drums for the track too
s/o to Baro for sure
Watching somebody fall in love with something I hold so near and dear to my heart brings me so much joy❤️
Thanks to Jon, Mac's family and friends. Finishing something to give a tribute and closure to his fans.
MOST DOPE FOREVER
What is your opinion on the bonus tracks Right and Floating? I think they’re perfectly fitting in the album. Right is even one of my favourite songs on Circles. If you haven’t listened to these song yet, you should! And let me hear your thoughts on it :)
same, right is amazing!
yea those two songs are such good additions, such a vibe at night
Right hits a different emotion 🥲
Big facts
Floating seems like a better closer tbh
I’d like to think that what he meant by the “other side” was the other side of the door that he’s locking himself in when he’s down. So then “ a whole lot more for me waiting on the other side” is him saying if he could just get out, it wouldn’t be so bad. I wish he got out :(
Honestly I think that just simply means what it sounds like. The other side as in afterlife/ heaven/ death. Could be right though.. he often has double meanings to his bars.
Oh my god i never thought about that line like that
Thanks for saying it! People always take it like he was speaking about death, and I just feel like he was refering to being happy, that there was still a lot waiting for him, which makes the song even more heartbreaking
Idk. If you take the surrounding lyrics into context, he's most likely talking about death/the afterlife. There's nothing indicating he's talking about happiness or "freedom" of any sort
@@_WeDontKnow_ exactly. Most people in his predicament with daily drug addiction, loneliness/dealing with fame and steady cash flow.. it's more realistic he's referring to his nihilism or depression, coupled with heavy substance abuse and drinking. Why would anyone struggling that bad be that optimistic one song, and down at rock bottom by the next.. makes no sense. If you lived the life these songs make perfect sense, but most of the time it's inexperienced 'squares' who seem to comment their grand opinion on the matter lmao.
Wow, I just released my review of this today! Such a beautiful album
i love your videos!!
INTERVIEW SHELBY!
You have to interview Shelby
Bro i love your videos
That's actually Jon Brion playing on 'Surf'. The Dissect Podcast has a great 7 min video which breaks this album down perfectly ua-cam.com/video/dEM7tiOym54/v-deo.html
mac’s legacy is just so amazing. i love the community of fan pages on insta for him, posting memories, celebrating his music still
Great reaction! The Divine Feminine is a great album if you'd like to hear a more happy mac and its production is beautiful!
Plus Paak and Kendrick features!
R&B Mac just radiated chilled vibes
I love how’s there’s no hate comments it so positive
This album is pure harmony, I am so sad Mac isn't here anymore. He would have hit the top. This record hits on many levels and none about addiction personally but you know life his hard sometimes. Damn I miss Mac, he understood.
also shelby this album and swimming are supposed to be conceptually linked, "swimming in circles"
That makes sense to me!
@@ShelbyShuffleMode they were made almost at the same time, with a handful of the songs in circles being finished later, or being completed by brion post-mortem.
Theres an interview with brion about his part in the albums, basically making mac do all of the instrumentation because he knew that he was able to, or was atleast sonically capable of figuring it out and putting his personal touch to every aspect of these 2 albums.
They were a perfect match of musician and producer, both complimenting and filling in each others strengths and weaknesses. Ive never heard a producer talk as respectfully as john brion does about mac.
Don’t forget that swimming and circles are linked together
Love from Turkey Mac got a beautiful soul
When I first listened to this album all the guys and I decided to go all day without listening until we all got together after work and just sat in a circle in the garage with the speaker blasting and good vibes, what a great experience
Sounds like you have some great friends man
his idea was to connect both albums ! “Swimming in Circles” was the concept :)
Thank you Shelby, this album has gotten me through quarantine and though I didn’t like Mac Miller at first, I slowly grew to love this album and the rest of his discography.
Thank you for your reaction to this album. It was beautiful.
Man.....this album is like my depression encapsulated. This whole thing - a song or 2 is on my depression Playlist.
yeah but you gotta remember, this album isn’t meant to make you depressed! it’s meant to understand yourself and your surroundings, it’s how mac got to terms with himself and understands himself fully! It’s a very very honest album and that’s because life is beautiful but you gotta be honest with yourself
@@rodrigodegeyseleer5008 Its more Melancholic than depressive, It makes you think back to all the hardships you've gone through, and all the pain you've felt, as well as make you feel like you could push trough and live a fulfilling life (At least for me)
@@Nefu432915 Yeah exactly what I think! It’s a beautiful album and it makes you think about a lot of thinks, life, your choices, your problems, the people around you,... For me it always makes me really sad because it’s his purest work and it’s so sad he isn’t here anymore to witness what he left us. Although it ends so beautifully: you appreciete life and people in general, it’s a pretty world we live in!
I feel like if you’ve been through depression or even times in your life that you felt down or not yourself, this album will speak to you in different ways. I love this album because it’s so relatable and helps you feel that your feelings are justified and acknowledged
Absolutely love the intro to blue world! Solid reaction to it
You should definitely listen to the 2 bonus tracks from the deluxe version, cause it's not like they're just bonus tracks, they definitely fit at the end, so I definitely recommend reacting to these
I feel like the reason they are not on the main album is because of the perfect loop between swimming and circles without them but yeah they are amazing as well
There are two bonus tracks for this album that fit perfectly. Even if you decide not to do a video on them you should give them a listen.
Good news still crushes me
Man whenever I feel down and like the world has kicked me down and buried me alive, I just play this album and let it all out, it feels like Mac is there telling you it’ll be alright and that it’s ok to cry
SWIMMING IN CIRCLES was supposed to be trilogy... first SWIMMING (mix between singing and rap) . Second CIRCLES (more song based & singing) and the third album was supposed to be just pure hip hop (as saying "I still do this, I still love this").
- Rest easy Mac 🙏
Been on a hell of a run with these last few reacts! I would love to see Alfredo - Freddie Gibbs, maybe Low End Theory - a Tribe Called Quest
Bandana and Pinata by freddie too lol
YESSS! can’t wait to hear the other reactions.. on your own time search Larry Lovestiein for mac’s (2012) Jazz/Folk sound. not many ppl know about that 🤍 92’ till ♾
Love it. wish he did more with it
You missed “right” and “floating”!! Right is def in the feels song. Go give it a listen, probably my top song off the album
Those are both only deluxe and kinda mid imo
@@barcodescanner3214 Right is one of my favorite tracks from Mac for some reason. I just love the whole vibe of the song.
A great fun fact I love about this album is that the last note in once a day and the first note in circles are the same note. Making the album a complete circle. He talked about before he does like albums having a death, basically meaning that he does like it when good songs end and abruptly. So the fact that the last album he worked on technically doesn't have an end is amazing
this one of the most bittersweet album listening experience ive ever had. considering his musical growth and where it lead. having it end here is incredibly bittersweet. beautiful ending to something that shouldnt be done yet.
also one thing that i find incredible about it is that the last chord on the album fits with the first chord on both this album and swimming. so you can listen to swimming in circles on a loop.
Wow I love your due diligence and considering your intention going into this album. Great choice.
The feature on hand me downs is by Baro Sura who is an artist from Melbourne Australia (where I’m from) and is the only feature on the album. God bless Malcom for that.
I really enjoyed this reaction, new subscriber🤗
What makes this album a "masterpiece" is the starts first song on a off note then the last track is the KISS. It'd a perfect loop in music theory. Mac was so talented.
Yayyy!!! I’ve been waiting for this😭🤧
SECOND TIME ASKING FOR CARE FOR ME BY SABA YOULL LOVE IT
VOUCH
That would be amazing
FACTS
I got goosebumps listening to it the first time the most amazing feeling ever
@@cashcartiwhat5110 favorite album ever, such a heartbreaking story but so perfectly executed
You should definitely check out his The Divine Feminine another 10/10 album I think you would love!:)
I didn't ever think I'd become and relate to an artist as much as Mac. I always rant to my friends and I hope they don't hate me for it, but his entire (mainly later) discography and growth had me so invested and feeling so closely connected, almost seeing myself in him. These projects, the entire situation, cut me deeper than I could ever explain. But in an eerie way, almost like he knew, this is by far my favorite posthumous release. Even the song titles are almost like messages from him saying he's okay & he made peace. Maybe I'm crazy. But I love this dude fr, and good news hits me like a train every single time. 💙
Such a good album. Do you have any plans to do Anderson Paak’s Ventura?
I echo everyone whos recommending The Divine Feminine & Faces, I think Watching Movies, KIDS & The High Life are also essential Mac projects.
I'm essentially the same age as Mac, and I grew up listening to him progress, album to album. I got sober a couple of months before he ODed. His music's really had a huge impact on me as I grew in life.
Really love your reactions, it feels like showing a friend music that you really love, and I think thats the most essential experience to reaction videos and why people enjoy them so much, so thank you!
great review! I miss and love Mac so much. Another suggestion would be to react to syre and erys by Jaden smith! they are so slept on
I enjoyed the entire video with your reactions, I agree with you with the message of this album, and hope you enjoy this as much as I’ve been doin.
Saludos desde México.
You have to watch the music videos (even if it's not recorded for YT). They are all beautiful
Edit: The videos will definitely boost that "getting lost" feeling
THANK YOU SO MUCH IVE BEEN WAITING
rip mac:/
The video to good news made me cry so hard! It was so perfect.
You made my day by listening to my favourite album. Thank you a lot!
Havent even watched it yet and I already liked it lmaooo i know this is gonna be a great review.
Mac made swimming with Circles in mind and worked on both almost simultaneously. The overarching theme of both is swimming IN circles
Hello from Russia👏
my love for Mac's work led me here.
Please listen to the 2 bonus tracks ‘right’ and ‘floating’. Right is one of the best songs on the album for sure
I had no clue there were bonus tracks or I would have listened 😭
Amazing reaction! Your hair looks gorgeous like that ❤️
Mac Miller just gets it and put so much relatable stuff on the table
As hard as it was for you lol, happy to see a new, genuine, reaction for Good News again
I am pretty sure it was Jon Brion (the album's co-producer) who was playing the guitar on Surf (love your videos btw)
wow i got the notification as i was listening to this album lol
I am a mind reader
Miss you everyday Mac Miller 💔
Mac did the solo for surf. Man was crazy talented
I feel the emotion of when I first heard this album now, Gracias a ti!!
thank you for this
Baro is the one singing the chorus in Hand Me Downs
Love the videos dude!! You should react to Faces... very interesting project and he said himself he thought it would be his last one.
Best album review by far!!!
Solid album
lets gooooo Love ur reactions mac such a great musician
dont think that was Mayer's guitar it had to be jon Brion,'s maybe he helped with it who knows cuz it does sound like Mayer but he did play guitar for small worlds off of swimming
Yes it is her producer Jon brion who worked with Mac on swimming and circles said that after Mac passed and Mac’s parents asked him to finish circles he had found I can see and Ariana vocals were already there
PLEASE if you care about the people in your comments.. please make a video of "faces" by mac miller. i loved listening to your breakdown, inputs, and overall opinion on these two albums (swimming and circles). Please do this for the mac community we all love you. Thank you for your content.
This album got me through 2020❤❤❤
You have to watch the good news music video, tears will be Down your face
Swimming was being alive as a human, Circles was realizing you're just a human for a very brief time.
Do you think you’ll do a reaction vid for the new Tyler album when it comes out Friday?
All of his projects are worth a listen. Even the LF and LLVR ones💯❤️🩹
My Devine feminine is an album by Mac that I think you’d enjoy.
Check out the deluxe album containing Right and Floating. Both are great songs
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO SHELBYYYYYYYY
I also have no idea how you wait so long to listen new music, I’m all over it and basically do my own commentary as soon as it drops 😂
MAC KICKIN INCREDIBLY DOPE SHIT FOREVER 🖤🤞🏽🖤
Hey Shelby, your videos are the cause of my relief and thank you for consistently releasing them. Can you please react to Labrinth - Imagination & The Miss fit kid🙏🏽
idk if other people have asked for you to do faces but id really recommend reacting to faces its one of my favorite mixtapes
12:39, she said "something" at the same time that mac said it
My favorite album of 2020!
One of my fav albums from 2020
Everybody is a cover of Arthur Lee’s song Everybody’s Gotta Live
27:24 It literally is yes hahaha good call (2 years later lol)
You should react to the bonus tracks and the music video for Good News. So beautiful
19:18 that’s Baro Sura, he’s an artist
You can actually look him up his stuffs kinda cool
for anyone missing mac miller, check out ben beal, while obviously no where near Macs standard his music is very similar
Holy shit, hes really good
Man... you're on a great run with these last few albums. I already know everyone will request the tiny desk performance but, those get copyright STRUCK, not claimed. Just a heads up, love your channel too much.
The other singer on Hand Me Downs is Baro Sura
7 months late to this but the one singing the chorus on hand me downs is Baro Sura
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WHIT MAC BUT, i would like you to hear "Voodoo" by D'angelo, i think you really gonna love it
Great reaction
Please listen to his Jazz album. Larry Lovestein and the Velvet Revival.
MOST DOPE FOREVER!!
You must do GO:OD AM next...
