Use a polyaspartic meant for use on garage floors to go over the epoxy . That's what I use on floors . Beautiful work . I appreciate the time you take .
Oh Noooo! How did I miss this video? I lost my father at the time of this posting. Otherwise, you know I wouldn't miss your awesome videos. Thanks for the time you put into these videos for your loyal subscribers like me. 😊 ❤🙏
Can’t give this enough thumbs up. 👍🏻 absolutely love how the first one turned out. My project is going outside so I can’t use this for that but I’m definitely scheming where I can do it!!!
Dislikes already?? I have just come to the conclusion that some people are generally just miserable and negative. Michael great build and video. Appreciate your investments of time, money, and creativity in your videos. Keep up the good work.
The dislike mostly come from people that can't see over the fact that the sound is mono not stereo they just don't see his passion in the material or his hard work. I see it and he is totally great!!!
@@coindesigner7477 like I said to me the sound didn't matter because I always need the subtitles. Fact is that the work is one hell of good quality and that is what I like.
That look awesome, I like both the travertine and pebble and i could just imagine when you add dyes on them and get a marble effect. Thanks for the ideas and subbing to your channel.
How does the epoxy hold up with heat? Like if I did a countertop with it and then pull a casserole out of the oven and put it on it? (Use a hot pad, but sometimes the pan hangs over and radiates into the countertop)
Derek Gleue Stone Coat Countertop make a countertop epoxy for kitchens that are food-safe that can handle high heat over 400 degrees I believe, but even they say there is NO surface you should EVER do that to, just set things on it.
Hello Michael, I want to make an outdoor bar table with the same technic you use at the blue bench. I will mix the pebbles with shells. Do I need to add fibers to make it stronger or it is not necessary? I hope the concrete will not break. Thank you very much for your answer in advance!
What is going on I can't hear audio in only this video? I can switch to one of your other videos and get audio it's only this one I'm having trouble with. Might be on my end but idk
You are awesome Michael! I love that you can make a mistake, then laugh at yourself and leave it in the video. So much better than coming across absolutely perfect in each project--leaving the rest of us feeling inferior. We are all human. Mistakes are how we learn. :)
Michael thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Great, inspiring ideas. Question; you mentioned the two part epoxy would not be appropriate for outdoors projects. Could you suggest an alternative epoxy which would be suitable for outdoor projects? Again thank you!
This is dangerous. I just found your channel while having a cup of coffee before work. Working from home during COVID. No! No! I must be strong and turn off UA-cam and be a good little worker, and not spend all day with your inspiring how-to's!!! 5 PM seems so very far away. :) Love the 3 videos I've seen thus far. I'll be back.
I wonder if they make miniature plastic fish maybe a half inch long for things like this... It'd be cool to make a mini river... maybe with a green concrete dye or stain.
As I sit here at the Depot, patiently awaiting their opening, your next vid comes through!! Another absolutely stunning piece of work!! I am taking time off when I finish this job I’m on in Louisiana and going home to make my own concrete patio table!! You have out done yourself again, can’t wait to see what’s next!
Love your videos! I have 2 questions: 1. Have you ever used a Clear UV resistant urethane over the top of epoxy resin so that you can use it outside? 2. Can you use a combination of plain mortar mix (say for around the stones) then the mortar mix with the flow control for the rest of the countertop? I love the idea of putting a great big G in the countertop with stones and filling the trench, but also love the smoothness and clean look of the flow control. I want to make it for an outside kitchen countertop.
Please checkout Stonecoatcountertops.com. They have a TON of epoxy additives as well as a casting epoxy specific for deep river tables. You have an incredible skill with concrete and the epoxy would just add to it.
Wow Michael! Your first video is rounding in on 3 million views! You have really got talent in video making as well as all your projects. I am preparing to pour a small concrete hearth thanks to how easy to follow your videos are. My wife wants it to just be concrete while I want a little grout design in it... so I sneakily bought supplies to make two in hopes of changing her mind! The other will make a nice little bench somewhere. Thank you for all your hard work. I really hope sponsors are getting on to you! You deserve recognition for your talents.
That's a really good idea. I'm going to do that, also if you want the concrete to look less outdoorsy you can get some concrete coloring (I'm using a white) to customize it however you want.
Oh yeah! Now we are going to have to do something like that. That's just awesome!! And congratulations on being a feature post on CTS Cement Mfg Corp/Rapid Set Facebook page. I was just amazed when they posted your concrete countertop on their October 10th facebook page. That's just totally fantastic!!!
Beautifully done. I think the legs should match, tho. Laughed at your oops moment - ummm, what, your'e not perfect? Another entertaining presentation as well.I look forward to your next project.
Michael, literally can't stop watching your videos! My question to you is, you said at the very end this 2 part epoxy isn't designed for outdoor use. However, after watching this video, I'd love to incorporate this into the fire pit countertop you showed in one of your first videos. Is there a comparable 2 part epoxy for use in exterior applications? Thanks and keep posting these awesome videos!!
Thank you so much for all those kind words! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that!!! Yes, a product called “total boat” is great for exterior use. The only problem is that you can’t seem to get it in nice small qt size quantities as far as I know. But check it out. I’m going to do a video on that stuff as soon as I get my hands on some
Wow! Your videos are inspiring, fun and creative. Your editing and humor make me look forward to your projects. Plus, you make it seem so easy. I haven't made anything, yet, but I definitely want to give it a shot! :)
I love your channel. I enjoy working with concrete. Only small projects. You inspired me to try some of your projects. Can you color the mortar mix with the unicorn Spit? Or would it take way to much of it? I watched your March 31 video first and had an idea you might want to try. If you used the mortar and made the river rock pattern you used on bottom of wall, It would really make you benches look incredible. I look forward to see if you do this.
Blow torch the epoxy to bring out any air bubbles! Would have loved to see a tiny realistic looking minnow inset into the one bench! That would have been cool in my oppinion!
Michael great video as always. Hint: StoneCoat shows to use propane torch to remove bubbles from epoxy. Keep up the good work. Love your humor, and good videos. Thanks for your project ideas and how to make them.

So...I've watched this video over and over during my cocktail hour in the evenings. It took me forever to build up the courage to attempt something like this. I mostly work on cars and bikes in my garage as a hobby so this was a little out of my wheelhouse. I finally completed a concrete top for a sofa table. I added a few things to make it my own and as custom as possible. My neighbors saw me working with wood and came to see what my new project was, knowing that I usually work with metal. They didn't really understand what I wanted to do, probably because I wasn't explaining it right or was using the wrong words. Evidently "doohickey" and "whosy-whater" aren't real things. Anyway...when I was done, I used half a bag of Vigoro River Pebbles, 3 bags of Rapid Set Mortar Mix with 3 packs of Set Control and 256 oz. of epoxy. It weighs almost 300 lbs!!!! Torching the bubbles out was a little time consuming but once it started to set up I left it alone. My kids were impressed and said it came out really cool as well as the neighbors too. Not sure where I can upload some photos so you can see the process and finished product. I would like to get your opinion. Also.....WHERE'S THE NEW CONTENT? I want to see more cool stuff. I'm going to attempt the fountain after I move.

Now that I'm totally confused not knowing which of those two I like most, I'll lose some sleep thinking about what I might want to do. Ah, but there's the weight of concrete. Hi Michael, I like this so much and I’m looking for ideas for ideas for a outdoor BBQ Prep cart for getting my meat rubbed and on the smoker and throwing my dough and making pizzas etc. so I really want a highly polished, easily washable, food friendly, bacteria unfriendly, stain resistant and hard as heck surface. Are those products the thing? Do you have any advice? Thanks man! BTW- I’m thinking the deep river idea might just be a winner!!
Great video, love your spirit & enthusiasm & humor & artistry. (and No, i did NOT see any piece of work glued to any table. hahah) Curious to hear your ideas on how to make (finish / embellish) a big, beautiful outdoor concrete floor, maybe embedded with glass, and/or stone and/or cordwood etc. Must be impervious to the elements. (mandala in the center - how best done - stamp / stencil? if you get into that any of that at all).
Hey Michael Builds, I've been watching since you started and I must say you have definitely sparked my imagination and helped me realize how possible and easy it is for someone like me who is just a handyman to build whatever. Thanks for your time and enthusiasm. I do have a question about the epoxies. I'm working on building my wife a kitchen countertop and am looking to find a food safe, cement sealing epoxy that might even look like your river bench here😜, not sure but maybe its my first. Anyway, any adivce would be helpful. Thanks. 🤠
When using epoxy, it pays to seal with a thin layer of clear, torch for bubbles, leave 20 mins, pour coloured mix, torch, again.. make sure concrete is really dry, before using epoxy.
Hi Michael, we are going to make a 4.5’x8’ pour in place concrete countertop on our island. I REALLY would like to use a map of the creek that defines our town. Suggestions?
Take the OSHA Silica PEL Certification. Teach and encourage your viewers to use these safety measures, when grinding concrete. Great job and very creative!
Michael Builds, we don't get Rapid Set here in Kenya but I guess I will try this with OPC and white cement, washed river sand ( I had to build my own washer!) and gravel. I hope I get such cute results, and I will try some fancy bathroom tiles!
cool benches, cool epoxy work, cool concrete work! i also looked at your guitar work at M McKinnon's site. then I went to his son Peter's youtube channel. so much creativity!! felicidades dude!

Thanks. 🤠
Thank you so much for all the kind words Joshua! Yes, the 2 part epoxy that I used is definitely food safe
@@MichaelBuilds thanks a bunch. Just ordered one of your shirts too.
AHHHHHHHH! Thats AWESOME! Thank you so much! You're the one!?!? hahaha
Awesome! Great job
I wonder... Could you put solar powered LED lights through your "river bed" before you poured your Unicorn Spit touched epoxy? Hmmmmm
Awesome, awesome awesome! Lil tip with epoxy, quick shot with a heat gun will get rid of the dreaded poxy bubbles. Such talent!
Thank you so much!
Very cool, I love it
Michael Builds, we don't get Rapid Set here in Kenya but I guess I will try this with OPC and white cement, washed river sand ( I had to build my own washer!) and gravel. I hope I get such cute results, and I will try some fancy bathroom tiles!
Hi Mike new sub here just want to say awesome videos no B.S straight forward and simple to follow ....and you give me a laugh thanx mate .........
Incredible! So, if 2-part epoxy isn't for outdoor use, what could I use instead? I have GOT to make these benches for my garden and fire pit!
5:10, that sounds when you know ur hitting that space good!!
hahahaha
Lol 😂
cool benches, cool epoxy work, cool concrete work! i also looked at your guitar work at M McKinnon's site. then I went to his son Peter's youtube channel. so much creativity!! felicidades dude!
