Austronesian Language Introduction - Amis Tribe - Taiwan
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- During a municipal indigenous speech contest in Southern Taiwan, we interviewed two students from the Amis tribe who agreed to share a little of their native language. Taiwan has 16 indigenous Austronesian languages that are actually taught in public schools to indigenous students, and they hold language contests to reward and motivate students.
Lima gang confirmed.
Not many people will get this reference :D

@Jacky Phantom maybe mix,..
@Jacky Phantom Austronesian has many characteristics such as skin color, yellowish white and brown, straight hair and curly hair. some are big-eyed and some are slanted but still have folds on the eyelids ,.
They look like filipinos. Ama in tagalog is Father, Ina means Mother
@Jacky Phantom in this modern age nothing is truly genuine. this is a result of the colonial period and intermarriage at that time until today ,. left by our ancestors is a small part of language and culture that is sometimes mixed with religious traditions that foreigners bring to us ,. that's what makes there are some cultures and traditions left behind because it's not in accordance with religion.

Interestingly, the main branches of Austronesian languange are
1. Formosan(F) and
2. Malayo-Polynesian-(MP) Malaysia,Indonesia,Brunei , Phillipines (MP). MP is subdivided into WMP-western malayo-polynesian and EMP-Eastern Malayo Polynesian- Samoa, Maori, Fuji.
Our farthest austronesian relatives to the west are found in Madagascar which is nearer to the African continent than to us. The distance between Philippines and Madagascar is 8,922 kms., whereas its Madagascar distance is more adjacent - 500 kms- to the African continent.
your right..some professors In Malay language in Malaysia are still researching the origin of Malay words n the disappearing of Sundaland b4 christ.
In fact, there are 9 branches of Austronesian: Atayalic, Bunun, East Formosan (which contains Amis), Northwest Formosan, Paiwan, Puyuma, Rukai, Tsouic and Malayo-Polynesian. The last branch is the Austronesian branch that is spoken outside Taiwan. Malayo-Polynesian is the biggest branch in terms of number of languages among the others that are spoken in Taiwan.
Idk how I feel or what to feel but i know I am more than curious! I heard awhile ago that the FIlipino's ancestors are from Taiwan and I honestly didnt look into it and didnt know what to respond to that but a couple of days ago I started googling the Amis people and the others and I was blown? I cant find the words. I always wanted to know where my people come from! And now that Ive heard the similarities and have seen the physical features, I am now more convinced! PLease keep documenting about the indigineous people of Taiwan!! I want to learn more and see more! Thank you!!
The document state that Ifugao is from Taiwan...
I Highly recommends watching "Warriors of the rainbow, Seediq bale" a movie about Taiwanese aborigines and Japanese occupation.
@@dailyviewstv5323 Yep, and Filipinos should know that Aetas and Ifugaos are completely different starting from looks to culture. Many Filipinos still think that they're the same.
Aetas are Melanesian (First Migrant), while Ifugao are Austronesian (Second Migrant). Filipinos ancestors are Austronesian, which means Igorot/Ifugao and not Melanesians or Aetas. Austronesian drove off Melanesian people into the mountain areas in the South.

Akong seems to be a loanword from Southern Min / Hokkien "阿公"
Or could it be the other way around? Hokkien loaned it from an aboriginal language?
@@linmanfu913 it's not likely to be, since the people who speak Hokkien in the other country also call their grandfather "阿公", however, there are some words that were originally came from other Taiwanese aboriginal language in Taiwanese Hokkien such as the word "khan-tshiú" which means "wife" has been confirmed that was loaned from an extinct Taiwanese plains aboriginal language
In Javanese, Indonesia nose = irung too.
@@sempraktis1597 In the Philippines, "nose" is "ilong".

I'm Chinese Indonesian, and I call my grandfather "engkong".
I don't know if that came more from Hokkien or Javanese.
Hokkien = "ah-kong". Javanese = "mbah kakung".
Akong is a loanword from Hokkien. Traditionally they call male elders "faki", include grandfathers and uncles.
阿公 (a-gong) is Hokkien, but it's also common to hear in Mandarin, at least in Taiwan. Perhaps a borrowing from Hokkien?
That boy looks just like my younger brother, its crazy. Lol
