Nearly exactly the same as Philippine people, especially the traditions and customs of all the indigenously-cultural Philippine tribes, like the proud Igorot peoples (ifugao, kalinga, bontok, kankanaey, ibaloi, itneg, isnag tribes), the Lumad peoples (tboli, bagobo, manuvu, kalagan, blaan, higaonon, mandaya, mamanwa, subanon, matigsalug, tagabawa, tagakaolo, talaandig, teduray, and mansaka tribes), Mangyan group (hanunuo, buhid, alangan, iraya, tadyawan, taubuid tribes), and the Palawan groups (palawano, taaw't bato, tagbanwa tribes), and suludnon of panay, among many others from our 180+ ethnic groups. they are all scattered around the islands, and maintained the old ways instead of christianizing or islamizing. these traditions also were historically followed by the major ethnolinguistic groups of the Philippines like the now christianized Tagalog, Visayan, Ilocano, Bicolano, and among the now muslim groups (maguindanao, maranao, tausug, kaagan, sangil, badjao, iranun etc tribes). Don't let the Spanish names fool you, the traditions are still maintained. Historically the archipelago was mired in pangayaw/mangayaw=raiding and headhunting traditions that only stopped under the Americans in the early 20th century, and traditions of Pag-aanito (worship of anito=spirits) are still followed behind christianity or islam. The Taiwanese tribes even play the kubing/kuribaw/kolibaw, which is one of our beloved traditional instruments (jews harp in english). They also play the pestle/lusung (the name from where the island of luzon gets its name) in a rhythmic way just like the cordilleran igorot tribes do today. The Yami/Tao people are directly related to the Ivatan people of the far northern batanes islands too, linguistically and by tradition and blood. They even use the rice bale as offerings as all indigenously cultural Philippine peoples here do. Hope our Taiwanese aboriginal brothers realize their closest relatives are just south of them.
Interestingly these people look like the people of Nagaland in Northeastern part of India. Culturally the people of Nagaland look similar to these Austronesians but linguistically they are Sino-Tibetan.
The Nagas and Mizos of northeast India, the indigenous peoples of yunnan China , Igorots of Philippines, etc all have similar cultures and way of lifestyles with Taiwan indigenous peoples

we have similarity in language with the puyuma tribe of taiwan as the narrator mentioned the mangayaw and basibas..mangayaw means hunting enemies from other tribes and basibas is a ritual done in celebration for the transition from childhood to bcoming a matured one..frm majucayong tribe of the igorot in northern philippine here
The tribes of taiwan has a lot more similar with the tribes of the philippines from the culture, musical intruments and rituals and festivals and even in the costumes or tribal dress...
Igorots..from northern luzon...CAR.....I am proud to be one of them...
Yes mukha din PO silang igorots
hahahahah😅🤣
@@stephencurry7775 their practice and beliefs traditions culture is very similar with that of ours Igorots. I personally once visited Hualien since its a very famous tourist area in Taiwan i was shocked to know their traditions and native clothings are same with igorots..I had a talked with with one of the tourist guide and she said their bloodlines are scattered all over southeast asia..
i just hope they don't convert to christian
Maybe Genetically but not Linguistically though
My chang Naga tribal counting like 1,2,3,5,6sounds similar to Taiwanese.
The Nagas and Mizos of northeast India, the indigenous peoples of yunnan China , Igorots of Philippines, etc all have similar cultures and way of lifestyles with Taiwan indigenous peoples
I'm trying to find out what was the Original writing for the Samoan Ppl if any. And the Original Language. I can't find this info anywhere. Not even through oral history.
They make it so fun at home....their kids don’t need to go anywhere else lol 😂 love ❤️ it👍
The matriarchal culture is typical in Austronesians.
Patriarchal culture is also very common.
I've got to the name of the song at 20:11. As a Polynesian it got me really emotional
Yes, and at 14:20 reminds me of Cook Island imene tuki
@@julesandhalo7566 yes,the same for us tongans and samoans. Very old style of singing
What the intro song?
Awesome 👍 Videos guys 😎
Similar to the North Borneo and Sarawak tribes in Malaysia
I noticed Taiwanese aboriginal singing and dancing to be similar to Native Americans. Also some of the buildings of Taiwan aboriginals resemble certain ones of Native Americans. Especially those of the Pacific Northwest- the wood totem poles and homes are very similar!
I love this.. please, dont go extinct.
I am from Borneo. I speak one of the Austronesian languages. When I saw their totem carving, I am surprised at the similarities between my people totem carving & one of the Taiwanese indigenous totem carving. I love to study these people whom I share common ancestors with.
What's that song at 20:11 called? It's really quite soothing :)
They're similar to the people of ifugao in benguet province, Philippines🇵🇭
@Ateng Eryyanto Fuck off
I’m sure they are related to my ethics group .im jarai tribe in central highland in Vietnam sending my respects to my brothers and sisters of Taiwan indigenous peoples
Same as ifugao in northern Philippines
Sebelumnya saya pikir taiwan itu china ternyata lebih mirip indonesia.! Sangat mengejutkan.
I believe they belong to the Igorot Tribe of the Philippines! Everything is similar maybe differs only on the language.
Are these the Original ppl that they call American Indian? So many similarities.

0_0 Holy crap they look Hawaiians and Maoris
Maluhia808 we all share the same ancestors in Taiwan

Quinlan Primitive Skills Do we really?

Am proud to b the aboriginal king of Taiwan from banqo 😂❤ 🐉👑
Wow ,good info. but I just wondering from Taiwan, they can go to some part in Indonesia, Philippine, New Zealand , Samoa, Hawaii etc, I still can’t imagine that part. Taiwan it’s relative small compared the island they explore ,lot respect for Taiwan but I just wondering is the other way around or they come from mainland.
This is mesmerizing me. It's true that Indonesia belongs to the same ancestors with the Taiwan Native aborigin

Once we were headhunter and do tattoo as a reward for headhunting, but we stopped after 1930
We were and we are warrior...
Like Philippines face people.
Yeah because our Filipino ancestors came from these people
East Asians did harsher treatment to The Taiwanese Aboriginals then West Europeans did.
lol its the other way around in my country philippines
@@MrLance0113 so, does it diminish the fact that east asians treated them harshly in the past?
Some of these Indigenous Taiwanese people look Polynesian.
This is maori people's ancestors they were originated from taiwan
No you originated from Samoans headass all of Polynesia is Samoans is its straight facts deny all you want but the research don’t lie
Manoa yes I know but I mean as the first Polynesians it was Samoans and then the rest came after , they all stem from Samoa one way or another
@@toamalamascanlan7227 oh yes,you Maori people come from North Europe you're descendants of the lost viking lol
@@toamalamascanlan7227 And where do Samoans come from Uso? Asia bro. I'm Samoan too we come from these people we count the same as them and they say Tama and Tina or Ina for Father and Mother.

Very distinctive cultural dances and singing as the people of East Timor. The colourful clothing are nearly the same.
Wow..almost similar to different tribes of northeast INDIA
Lalnuntluanga Ralte yeah I was thinking the same. I feel like I'm looking at the Northeastern people of India when I watch this video. 😍
@Mandy M
The ones in India and Myanmar are Sino-Tibetans while those in Taiwan and Philippines are Asutronesians.

@@jeromesaurez1191 the Sino-Tibetan tribes in India are closer to ethnic tibetans in terms of genetics.
but their culture is very similar to the Austronesians
taiwan native similar to Filipino and Bornean culture.
Root of austronesian is from mongol and east Russian
M from north east India and belong to Rongmei Naga. We all came from one family 10kya.
Thank you for your research. I grew up and Taiwan till the 8th grade, I was never introduced to this history.
The Puyuma tribe has the closest cultural resemblance to that of eastern Mt Province tribes and Ifugao.
The practice of young single and married men sleeping and hanging out at the village plaza.
It reminds me of Kepulauan Nias and Kalimantan
their cultures almost same with few aboriginal tribes in sabah and sarawak.
