Thank you for another good lesson. This is a lot more fun than throwing them in slot machines! I look at every now, thanks to your videos. Take care, Tim
Good to see others on here like yourself interested in currency...I need to get back into making some more videos. Search all denominations and keep it up!
I recently went to the bank and picked up rolls of coins. I collect coins mainly, and to my surprise I got a full roll of 1867-1967 cougar Canadian quarters. all mint condition. best visit to the bank I ever had!!.
I collected a couple of hundred 2006 Paulson's, and kept them for a few years, until they finally said "Let us go" in which case I deposited them into my bank. They paid the cable TV bill that month!
I cant help but think the bank... since we all know they hate losing money, might sell these flawed bills on their own if they catch them. I worked for an insurance company and if we had something valuable we only gave actual cash value and would make our money back 3 fold by parting things out or auctioning it off.
When looking for "fancy" serial numbers, how much of a repeater do you look for? Is a four digit (8888) or a five digit (88888) serial number worth holding on to?
thanks for sharing. i learned a lot from you man. i did the same and i read few other books just to make sure to study more as usual. Well there is a video where you showed i guess the ladder, repeater and so on. i dont find it. please let me know. thanks
Cool vid man, learned lil sumthing from watching, I always save "777's" aka 3 7's n a row, have bout 80/90 of those bills but never thought of looking for complete "latter", now I 'll be ADD bout those now too, thanx!! But really was informative
I'm so mad at work the other day I found a 1 dollar bill with a serial number that was incomplete and started at the edge of the bill....so pretty much had half a serial number and the other half was gone....I did not have a dollar on me to replace in my drawer so I had to leave it!!! I am unaware of the value of something like that but I could tell it was defiantly rare and very uncommon I have never seen anything like it.
on 2013 bills check with the face because of the threads going across Washington nose which are misprints bills I found 13 one dollar bills that way so far.
Interesting I've never heard of one dollar bills with misprints and abnormalities being worth extra. Same with the silver coins until recently. I don't think I have the free time to sort through any coins or dollar bills though. But I'd be more interested in looking through the silver coin boxes from the bank to look for older coins. I have some older pennies and dollar coins myself that could be worth something. Cool.
Basically the quality control of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is so high that anything slipping past them has a higher value than the perceived note or metal the it get printed on. A lot of people keep saying US notes have no value but in reality. As long as there is nothing else most of the world can trust, the US note is the only reserve they can trust. There's a reason the 100 dollar bill is known as the world mattress. Anyone with any money will convert their local currency into gold or US dollars.
Very nice but can you explain what you mean by "only some star notes " when you have a chance Like a 640,000 or under runs or just any star note in a nice condition
WOW, I never knew this! I metal detect and was sorting pennies, going to the bank to get quarters, dimes and half to find silver but NEVER thought about this! That being said, I two notes, one has a half round image next to the president about 1/2 off to the right side and one note the number is 06336663 is this good?
hey so I have a dollar bill were the numbers you have to example they are the same like 5 5 5 5 you know what I mean.I think they are called the issuianing federal district well one of the numbers are dark and all the rest are like if they are almost gone only one of the four numbers are dark what do you think
Several years ago I obtained a brand new BEP wrap of 100 1 dollar bill star notes. I took them to the dealer close by and he gave me 125.00 for them. I am wondering if I did okay or not. This was 6-7 years ago. Since then I started doing wheresgeorge but I wonder if that was a deal or not.
Well star notes are not rare and even if they are new it doesnt matter. So you did good. He will probubly make more selling them single but that takes time. Even $2 bills from the first printings are only worth $2 still cause they are not rare.
I found a ten dollar bill with the serial numbers over " WASHINGTON,D.C. " it's in good condition. I got that one at a local bank. I asked the teller if it was real and she said it was. I would show you but I don't have a personal computer yet. And I found a one dollar bill with the two digit number "12" located on the four sides of the bill, shifted to the left of the bill into the artwork engraving. In good condition. What they are worth? Someday I will find out.
Hi Blue, I'm a bullion stacker for the most part and don't pay much attention to the numbers on paper. I had just come from the bank after cashing a check and stumbled upon a $100 note with the number (LB 70777789F). I know nothing about bank note hunting so I decided to see what I could find on the net. I saw your post and found it quite informative and was wondering if you could help me by possibly giving me a save it or buy bullion answer. I only keep a few thousand in cash on hand and the rest I put into silver bullion and (US) gold and silver mint coins. Playing the bullion market that way beats putting your savings into the bank, as the banks interest rates suck and my bullion profit has far exceeded any premiums I've spent on it. I am curious about the bill I've been saving though and thanks in advance. Bear113
are there any rules of this sport are cause Id like to take part it looks fun. Also are the rules the same for every bill or do they change ? what is this sport called ? I waned to do more about this how ever I have no clue as to what to type in in google lol thanks
Bank staff don't physically inspect notes or coins they simply don't have the time. It's all done by machines and even those are not sorting for anomalies. Counterfeits yes but only the note sorting machines,
Thank you for another good lesson. This is a lot more fun than throwing them in slot machines! I look at every now, thanks to your videos.
Take care,
Tim
Really informative! I dig this channel mainly because you don't put up with rude and inappropriate comments. Keep up the good work!
Good to see others on here like yourself interested in currency...I need to get back into making some more videos. Search all denominations and keep it up!

I love de one dollar bills is so easy to collect and yeah I do the same :) hi from NYC!!
I've saved the stars for years, also other "oddities" for years. A couple months ago I got a 1963 $1 bill in change from a gas station.
I recently went to the bank and picked up rolls of coins. I collect coins mainly, and to my surprise I got a full roll of 1867-1967 cougar Canadian quarters. all mint condition. best visit to the bank I ever had!!.
***** wow, that's amazing does he still have it .
I collected a couple of hundred 2006 Paulson's, and kept them for a few years, until they finally said "Let us go" in which case I deposited them into my bank. They paid the cable TV bill that month!
I must commend you on the high quality content.
Good job. Thanks for sharing.
At 8:37 you missed an offset seal that is quite "offset." Does that matter?
Very interesting video. Cool findings.

The bill a at 5:24. I checked on where's George.com and I used to own that bill!
That's against the rules to enter a bill that you don't have in your current possession.
I just thought I recognized the bill. I didn't enter any other ones. rriicckkyy211
And I was bored etc. rriicckkyy211

You might watch for The 1995 FW 295 back plate error where The wrong number is used
The FW note has The Washington number which is smaller in size
Is a low number as the back plate number considered rare?
collecting money is not a sport... its a hobby
I am a bank teller. Don't get too excited about finding odd printings. I have never seen one.
That's cool. I was over in the state a few years ah I and I got a nice crisp 1965 note back in change. Any good finds from the rest?
on 2013 bills check with the face because of the threads going across Washington nose which are misprints bills I found 13 one dollar bills that way so far.
right before the star note bill. The one is larger than the rest of the numbers. and is taller than the rest
Once u find the error how do u know how much it is worth? And where do u sell it on ebay or take to the bank ?
Why are British notes more thicker than american ones? Would a slimmer note not be easier to counterfeit?
American bills are hard to counterfeit since they are made of a fabric like material.

And the only number that you should be looking for is 69. Or 6969696969. Or 169 or 269. But 369 is better then 169.
where would you sell the rare bills?
Pawn shops, auctions, online listings, etc.
ShadowKitten / DarkPhage
ok so what would u even do with it when you find something.......who the heck would pay money for a dollar bill when its only legally worth a dollar.
Simple, a dealer or a collector. Go to any coin show and see for yourself. Some of these are rare and can be worth quite a bit down the road.

you can sell on ebay or any pawnshops and collectors arkets
