Hello, how are you? I am a regular viewer of your UA-cam channel. I came here to say that- "I appreciate how well-researched and insightful your content is!" Good Luck
@@FarjanaMunna Thank you, I appreciate it.
I started buying WEN tools in 2017, have planner, tracksaw, drill press, oscillating sander and many others. Good video!
Thanks, I’m starting my own collection.
Nice review. I'm getting into woodworking too.
Good luck with your woodworking!
Be sure to push the wood far enough onto the outfeed table to let the blade guard swing closed.
@@bclamore I will. Thanks!
Awesome. Cutech was the only company making a 12" bench-top planer, but it is $750.
The Wen is only $615... that's a big difference for tools made in the same exact factory.
This will go to the top of my list of future tool purchases. I really like most of my Wen tools... for the price.
Originally Amazon was the same price or higher than Cutech. When they dropped it to $614 I jumped on it and I had $50 in Amazon credit too. I’m really happy I waited!
Hello fantastic video. is there any chance you could provide the dimensions with the back fence protrusion? Trying to figure out if this will fit in my space as opposed to the 10in version.
I just saw your message. I’ll get you dimensions tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.
Can you please keep the camera static? Moving it around will make people dizzy. Thanks. Great video.
Sorry I made you dizzy.
I just received this from amazon mine had wood chips in it, not sure that was from manufacturer or used. Setting it up and will try it out. TY for the great video and table looks amazing.
Did you let Amazon know it might have been a used jointer? Well anyway I hope it works well for you. So far so good with mine.
@@richardizui703 Yes they offered to send new one but its so heavy and seems to work well. hopefully it is from manufacturer testing it and being sloppy with clean up. I have until Jan 31st to return. I did not want to deal with repacking it.
I know that they say it is a spiral cutterhead, but it is really a segmented cutterhead. A spiral cutterhead has the blades set at an angle in a spiral line to shear the cut. The segmented cutterhead cuts like a full width blade, except in a smaller cut width. They are better than a full straight blade, but not as good as a true spiral cutterhead.
@@photogazer I think you’re right but the spiral head you’re referring to I’ve heard called “helical” and the type I have is “spiral”. I guess there are many ways of describing them.
They are both spiral but spiral and hellical cuts the material at different angles, spiral straight and against the material and helical at an angle so the "teeth" in one are straight and the other one at an angle.
Helical heads are spiral with the blades canted on an angle
When it comes to these China brands all we want to know is why you chose the WEN over the other brands. Price, features, shipping, what is the reasoning being they are all very similar.
It's mainly because I've had good luck with WEN products. I have a 13 inch WEN planer which has a spiral cutter head as well and it's been great as all of my other WEN products.
Thanks! I’m really happy with it.
Why do you have to reduce the exhaust port just to expand it inches after?
In the video I took the outlet hose from my SawStop which is 4” reduced to 2” because my vacuum is 2”. I just used this hose to demonstrate how it connects.
Do you understand we can’t hear a word you’re saying with the vac on and your hood down?????
Also cell phone audio is terrible so by a wireless lavaliere mic and wear it on your shirt. Finally you should pick up the pace if your vids.
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I’m still fairly new to UA-cam so any advice like yours helps. I’ll look into those lavalier mics you suggested.
@@richardizui703 Don't listen to Tom. This was a great video. I could hear everything you said. Pace of the video was fine. Thank you for making this video.
@@helloexcathedraThanks for the kind words. I’m glad you were able to hear me. I really appreciate hearing positive comments like yours. I will pay more attention to how the audio is presented but right now my budget is going for tools not microphones.
