      @aliabdaal Thank you for today's great video! I have a question: What should people do if they can't feel thirsty? I know some people who don't seem to have that feeling. If you ever see this, thanks for your time. 🙏 PS: My favorite habit is walking outside.

    Here are some of the important points from the video:
    * You don't have to walk 10,000 steps a day to be healthy. Aiming for 6,000 to 8,000 steps per day is a good target for most people. And remember, every step counts, so even small amounts of walking can add up and make a difference.
    * Getting some sun exposure is important for your health. Aim for at least 10 to 15 minutes of sun exposure on your skin (not through a window) most days. This will help your body produce vitamin D, which is essential for bone health.
    * Drinking water is important, but you don't need to force yourself to drink 2 liters per day. Just listen to your body and drink when you're thirsty. Your body is pretty good at regulating its own fluid levels.

    • @henryeweama2270
      @henryeweama2270 Місяць тому +1

      It is much more beneficial to have fluid intake regulated by having an estimate of what should be taken. "Listening" to your body is not really effective for proper fluid evaluation

    • @Gigusx
      @Gigusx Місяць тому +1

      @@henryeweama2270 If I listened to my body I would drink twice a day... or at other times drink all the time. Never really gone wrong with following the 2l estimate on the other hand.

    Don’t just assume we are all under 30, I’m 63 and been following you for years. I started self development in the early 80’s as my career started to take off. At 63 I’ve sold my business, have money in the bank, but cannot stop working. Simply so I can continue to save, rather than de cumulate. But I degress. I’m now freelance in finance, I love working with the people I work with, but have reached the age where I know I have no real goals. I’m simply trying to understand who I am and now I need to learn how to stop being productive. I see a task in front of me and just keep working like the Duracell bunny. But….. there is a part of me that simply cannot continue to see if there is more I can learn, which is crazy, but leads me to listen to you. Always good common sense. Good on you.

    In 2021, I had heavy, sore, and weak legs due to poor circulation from inactivity, averaging 120-500 steps daily. I started walking more, gradually increasing to 1 hour and 20 minutes (about 8,000 steps) daily. This routine has helped me lose weight and greatly reduce my anxiety A LOT

    *Main Points*
    00:47: 10,000 steps originated from a marketing campaign, not scientific evidence.
    02:36: Optimal daily steps for health are around 6,000 to 10,000.
    04:00: Any walking is beneficial; aim for 6,000 to 8,000 steps daily.
    06:37: Sun exposure can improve health, but balance is crucial to avoid skin damage.
    09:29: Sunlight aids vitamin D production, which is better than supplements.
    10:41: Morning sunlight helps regulate circadian rhythms and improves mood.
    13:22: Hydration recommendations of 2.5L daily lack scientific backing; listen to thirst cues.
    15:44: Urine color can indicate hydration levels; aim for light yellow.

    I wonder how much these studies are overlapping on a root cause, and that people who are just more active and social in general are less likely to die of various causes. If you're outside more and walking more, you're probably more social or just have more activities and things going on in your life instead of sitting on the couch watching TV all day with few people in your life.

  • @Scottcluu

    I disagree with “just listening to your body’s natural cues for how much water you should consume”. I’ve done a 30 day challenge drinking 3 Liters of water and a week challenge for drinking a gallon of water and in both instances when I started the challenges, my body noticed the difference pretty immediately and I realized how severely dehydrated I actually was before the challenges started.
    It obviously still depends on a lot of different factors on how much you actually need, but I don’t think “listen to your body’s natural cues” for this specific habit is good advice. I’d say, target 2.5 Liters of water to drink on a normal day and see if that feels like too much or too little depending on your lifestyle and adjust afterwards.

    Great video❤ Just appalled to see the sponsoring of such a bad quality provider as Betterhelp ☹️

    Awesome video, thanks Ali. On one of the clips regarding walking, you included a clip of yourself walking on a very slim, thin indoor treadmill. Would you happen to know the make and model or have a link for it off hand? Tks as always

    In general, avoid harsh sunlight, especially in the afternoon. Morning sunlight is good for resetting your internal clock and providing vitamin D, so do take in some morning sunlight on your screen-oops, I mean on your skin and body. Have a nice day!
