Stuff were a very good concert draw in the seventies. They filled audiences in Montreux, Germany and Japan, which shows how diverse they were. And I think Gordon Edwards is a great, but considerably forgotten bassist. Here he is playing a Fender Precision Bass through an Ampeg SVT amp.
Stuff is the greatest instrument band nobody has ever heard of much! They were all master musicians with many other bands they played with... but stuff was something special... funny u say gordan is great when he put this band together.
Gale, Dupree, and T! The three slickest studio 'compers at this time all in the same place, same time! Amazing rhythmic counterpoint between the three AND as propulsively as all three can drive the pocket, even more amazing that none get in the other's way!
This is the real version of the classic workout show sit and be fit. That dancing bass player makes me dance... and I don't dance ..i'm going to use him as my metronome
@@vintagedrummer Yep, never forget Richard Tee. One of the most soulful keys players there was. Some of Paul Simon's classics wouldn't be the same without him. And most of this band.
Oh my! I love this groove, Dupree and Gale together, the whole band, it's infectious.
Richard T! THE archetype BRIDGE between R&B and Gospel piano.
Cornell Dupree is the man - his most excellent work appears on Donny Hathaway's live album.
OMGADD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gadd brilliant as always
All these musicians are masters! From cornells rhythm to erics rhythm and lead after... perfection.
Preserve this please everyone. Pass along to your group text(s). Theyll thank you tomorrow
Boogie On Reggae Woman. Damn, Stevie Wonder's tunes are perfectly suitable to Jazz interpretation. No surprise there. They are Jazz.
great
Sensational what they all do. And you can feel the Joy they all have, playing togehter. Thank you for sharing with us RIP for all who have left us.
that's some real nasty funk there
Interesting the bass line is much more reggae in the intro
Amazing these guys have their instruments in sync too cool.
This is "THE STUFF"!!!
The bees knees!!
Always love these guys, but I love them even more after hearing them speed up like this. Make me feel less guilty about my own faulty time.
They stuck together and rode it out. Great musicianship there.
What would be cool is if Steve and the bass player did a fill in together

That is the late great Gordon Edwards.. who put this band together.

Outstanding! Wonderful!
Eric Gale playing that rhythm is sweet.

Who's playing?
Gordon Edwards: Bass
Best guitar bass and best drummer I have ever heard
I highly recommend you go watch the full concert and just check out the piano player now that will blow your mind

Eric Gale and Cornell were jus awesome.
All of them were the top session guys at that time. Dupree is on 2500 albums ,I won't be amazed if mr Gadd is on even more
Kubrick is pretty tight on drums
He went England to film a movie right after the concert.
Yeah!
Giants! Arrepia!!!
Espetacular!
very very well..................................................
OPA!
Maybe stuff was the best band Mr Gadd had
How does a dude look so good sitting down and playing bass?
He gets up sometimes lol, but he plays way better sitting down jus white from ewaf

STEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
contact nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnice
The great Steven Gadd is still great but I'd rather hear a bass solo to most 🥁 drum solo's and i don't even like bass solo.
