I tried giving wii fit an actual try once because i was already trying to lose weight, and i was feeling nostalgic. Let me tell you, it is not encouraging to see your mii blow up like a baloon with some dopey music playing and the little robot voice saying "that's obese". It also doesn't help that the exercises (not the mini-games) aren't fantastic.
Idk anyone else’s experience with wii fit but as an adult it has helped me. I mean it’s not the reason for me wanting to lose weight but it does help me keep my health goals in mind. I try and do it almost every other day when I can and so far I’ve done pretty good. Obviously it’s not a perfect weight loss program and I’d honestly say it will probably do nothing if you just play the games for exercise. I’m pretty sure most of the games aren’t even considered moderate exercise for anyone under 60. But keeping track of weight loss progress (or accidental gain) does help keep myself in check. I’ve been making a conscious effort to both lower my caloric intake and eat better. Is Wii fit the catalyst for all this? No probably not but seeing my little mii character do a back flip when the game tells me my Wii fit age is -5 my actual age does make me smile.
Each passing year I realize more just how absurd this game's classification of "obese" is. Like it'll straight up not know the difference between body fat and muscle. You could also be a healthy little kid who's just growing and the game will be like "nuh uh". And of course this is before factoring in the innacuracies of old technology like the balance board, or the outdated BMI system. But overall I'd say Wii Fit is a game that was made with good intentions that happened to not age very well in terms of science and math and stuff.
Well it is just literally bmi. Also most people are overweight, if you’re a bit chubby-that is overweight. If your weight actually puts you at significant risk of stuff like heart disease, that is obese. They’re quite different from “normal speak” terms where overweight means more than average instead of more than optimal.
Random question but how did you find these in the files and extract/use them ingame and whatnot? Genuinely curious over here. Edit: Made my sentence more clear.
Hello, do you think you'd be able to isolate the music that we hear on the calendar screen? For some reason, every upload of it that I can find on UA-cam is a mix of the calendar screen music and the user settings music. Do you know of somewhere to get just the calendar screen music on its own?
All BMI does is compare your height vs your weight against an "average", but there's a lot of different factors that go into body weight and it's a terrible indicator for health. If you have more muscle than someone, for example, you're gonna weigh significantly more than someone who is the same height but doesn't exercise. It's also not taking into account body types, since some people are just naturally thinner or wider than others regardless of fitness.
