I am getting this error..
avrdude: ser_open(), can't be open device "\\.\COM3". The System cannot find the file specified.
but I am using USBASP AVR programmer to upload sketch using programmer option..
so for my case prot is disable. ( it means I can't select any COM port)

Hi you will get ports (COM&TTL) not ports

Thanks MSGuy, your solution worked when all other's advice failed to. My problem was that I was outputting the analogue data to the USB serial port to see the data on the serial monitor. This made the serial port continuously in-use, stopping the ability to upload the new program.

Make sure you have your Arduino plugged into your computer when changing the port

In my case the problem was that the bluetooth was connected with my mouse. i turn it off and the sketch was upload good and not other problemas was found. hope that this comment help somebody.

Error común, aquí está la solución:
1 - Desenchufe el Arduino
2 - Cargar código sin Arduino conectado a la PC
3 - Reconectar Arduino
4 - Subir código al Arduino
