- In this video, we look at the structure of aldehydes and ketones, which are both carbonyl compounds. First we look at how the position of the carbonyl group determines whether a compound is an aldehyde or a ketone. We then look at how we name aldehydes and ketones, including the use of numbers in ketone naming. Finally, we explore the polarity of the carbonyl group and see why this can lead to nucleophilic addition.

Hi. Spec changes take a lot of planning and the final spec has to be given to teachers to teach it in advance. Your GCSE course will start in September 2024, for exams in 2026. So there cannot be a spec change in that time.
