Great reaction!! More Voiceplay, please! You just can’t miss with these guys! Also, check out The Bass Gang. Start with either Centuries or Yellow Flicker Beat. They’re a capella as well-and if you like bass, these guys will rattle your floorboards.
I'm not sure I'd call this a sea shanty as such, It's from an old Viking saga, but many people like to call it a shanty, which it really isn't. You can often tell the age of their songs by: the length of Geoff's hair, the amount of Earl's facial hair, and later the amount of Eli's facial hair. :) As for the newer ones Cesar's hair varies from song to song, so you can't judge much from that.
Another song of their's that is just as epic is The Dragonborn Comes. But if you want to hear the lowest note ever sung, check out Geoff Castellucci's solo song, Way Down.
While I've heard this before it's great to see your reaction to it, I'd never even heard of Voiceplay until you featured them a little while back, since then, and you know what I'm like Tim, I've absorbed as much as I can find of them.. Love this song. A 9th century Viking song.. As always... Love from Amsterdam.
That's the hardest part of a reaction channel (as we have discussed many times in email). Wanting to dive in unrestrained by cameras and such and just enjoy a binge. Doing many bands and limited time to record makes it a bit frustrating. I shall carry on and work through my frustrations. LOL
So happy to see you reacting to this, one of my favourites. Love Geoff being a Viking war horn and those harmonies are just gorgeous! Thanks for a wonderfully enthusiastic reaction! 🙂👍
Great reaction! I'm so glad you were listening to this with headphones. The power of Geoff's bass and the melding the harmonies are just so hard to hear without good earphones. Thanks for reacting to this, I'm looking forward to what you react to next!
Thank you my friend. It gets even better when I edit with my Son's Headphones. But they get extremely hot on my ears. So I use a great quality pair of buds that have a full rich sound. Just under my Son's. Which his allows more deeper bass range. Honestly, It's like a reward for me.. LOL
Great reaction! I love watching the joy on your face as you listen. Their most recent is Running Up That Hill, I think you will enjoy it. It has a lot of synthesizer type sounds, all done by their voices. If you are a fan of the series Stranger Things you will especially like it. Let me suggest We Don't Talk About Bruno for laughs and a couple of their older pieces - Can't Help Falling in Love and Bridge Over Troubled Water. I'm along for the Voiceplay ride. You haven't checked out Geoff Castellucci's (the bass) solo work yet. He started doing solos during the pandemic, so not a huge library yet. Start with House of the Rising Sun. Trust me.
I was one of many people to suggest this one for you to react to and I knew you would love it! Thanks for your enthusiastic reaction and coming back to Voice Play! I am not sure if you like "Stranger Things" but they recently released their video of "Running Up That Hill" and it is amazing. Not sure if you are a gaming fan but their covers of "Skyrim Dragonborn Comes" and "Hallo" are also great. If you watch "Arcane-League Of Legends" or just like 'Imagine Dragons' check out their covers of "Enemy" and "Warriors". Of course anything Disney that they cover is the best around but my favorites are "Little Mermaid Medley" and "We Don't Talk About Bruno". For Rock with less theatrics try "Carry On My Wayward Son". I notice that you like 'Home Free's' country style so you would probably like Voice Play's "Tennessee Whiskey" and of course there is lots of goodness on Geoff Castellucci's solo channel.
Well Thank Ye Lady of the Internet. Lady_Freakin_Macbeth (Love your screen name 🤘😎🤘) Glad to have you as a Friend. Again, I Thank Ye Fair Maiden. May the light of a thousand sunrises shine upon your eyes.
I hope you can get around to reacting to VoicePlay's rendition of Phantom of the Opera feat. Rachel Potter. This was early VP, before J. None, when Tony Wakim was still with them. And then there's the Halo Theme with their newest member Cesar Delarosa. This time they're joined by another founding member, Scott Porter who's now an actor. He was in Friday Night Lights. And please stick around for his commentary at the end. Very important, very moving.
Love this one! Your reaction is spot on. So a new song we’re writing has a brief a cappella-ish vocal break in a verse (a la - Queen)…. We’ll dedicate it to you buddy😂
Just LOVED your reaction, man. 🙂 I'd like to suggest a couple more videos from them that I believe you'd appreciate. 🙂 Both of them come from the video games world. One is the "Halo Theme", and I'd dare to suggest that you listen to all the video, including the second half, where the guest artist for that video, who was a FOUNDER of Voiceplay and their former beatboxer before leaving to successfully pursue an acting career, explains the reasons behind them making that video... I swear I'm moved to tears almost every time I listen to it. 🙂 And the other one is "The Dragonborn comes", from the videogame "Skyrim" (which, if I understand correctly, is part of the "Elder scrolls" series). "Foghorn" Geoff has his share there, and the others as well. 🙂 I'd also suggest you to give a look at Geoff's personal channel, and start watching "Far over the Misty Mountains cold" from "The Hobbit". He plays all the characters (with different costumes and makeups), sings all the parts, and IMHO is just incredible. 🙂 Can't wait for your next reaction. 🙂
If you like sea shanties so much you should definitely check out hoist the colors by voice play. Fantastic. Absolutely amazing. And. And geoff has his solo work as well. You should check out over the misty mountains Cold if you really want to hear a low note and if you really want to hear a Fog horn voiced late did the dragon board comes at comes and geoffs 1st note is amazing not to mention the entire song is fantastic
Awesome reaction
Love these guys. So many good songs from them 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I'm trying to figure out if they have anything not awesome.. LOL
@@PositiveCrunch 🤣🤣🤣🤣
All dressed as different Clans. Geoff's breath control and sustained notes get me every time.
Unbelievable Talent
To hear Eli rock out more check out their covers of Carry On My Wayward Son and Queen in 5 Minutes.
Thank you my friend
Great fun watching your reaction, thanks! I wonder how you'd react to their cover of Warriors... I'd love to see it.
Thank you my friend

This one by VP and the version by The Hound and The Fox ft. Adam Chance are my two favorite interpretations of this song.
Oh my.. Will need to check that out

Agreed.. Not shanty. But awesome still.

He went lower in Halo

Layne (beat boxer) arranged this, and the story goes:
Layne: Geoff, how long can you hold an F1?
Geoff: Yes
🤘😎🤘

I absolutely loved "Whitewashed", can't wait to hear anything new you guys release... as always... Love from Amsterdam.
Heck yeah! Can't wait for the next installment from the Band!!
If you like this type of music you need to check out Saltatio Mortis's version of My Mother Told Me. They are a german metal band with a twist!! :)
Peeked my interest there!!!

Thank you my friend. Check out our Acapella Reactions Playlist. I just released Hoist the colours. Hope you enjoy
#Positive Crunch If you like Viking type songs, you'll love their "Valhalla Calling" song very much.
Bit late to this party... have you listened to any of the wonderful stuff they released this year?!
