@@PositiveCrunch The first album they did with him was The Congregation (2014), but their first drummer was also absolutely insane. Thanks for the response and happy listening!
i heard them for the first time in like 2000 with the song The Dawn of the End from the album THE OLDEN DOMAIN and i was blown away, after that with their album archaic curse
The four singers have been the 4 vocalists of Borknagar over the years and albums. -Garm (the one with the long braided beard): Borknagar (1996), The Olden Domain (1997), AND Winter Thrice (2016) as a guest on two songs. -Ics Vortex (the one with long hair and angelic voice): The Archaic Course (1998), Quintessence (2000), Universal (2010) performing the last song on his return to the band, Urd (2012) and Winter Thrice (2016) as second voice, AND True North (2019) as lead vocal. -Lazare (the short-haired one at the beginning and second voice): From Quintessence (2000) on keyboards until today. -Vintersorg (growls) Empiricism (2001), Epic (2004), Origin (2006), Universal (2010), Urd (2012) And Winter Thrice (2016).
Borknagar have been around for a few decades now, saw them supporting Sabaton a few years back in Denmark. They're a epic live band. I actually forgot about them until you uploaded this.. Great band.. Thanks for this breakfast wakeup call... as always... love from Amsterdam.
Borknagar has gone through different styles of metal without losing its essence. On their first album "Borknagar" (1996) their style was pure Black Metal and the lyrics were completely in Norwegian. On their second and third albums they kept playing black metal although with a touch more Viking Metal, on the fourth album they went back to being more Black Metal, on the fifth and sixth they went to being a bit of progressive and melodic metal, the seventh was totally acoustic instrumental, on the eighth and ninth they went back to progressive and melodic metal, on the tenth (Winter Thrice) and eleventh it was a more acoustic metal in many fragments but without losing that spark of black metal that characterizes them. So if you want to hear them when they were more black metal you must listen to their first 4 albums. Great reaction, mate.
Next video please react "Tielman Brothers - Rollin Rock (best rock n roll / indo rock) Live TV show 1960" This band so Dope & Rock Legend from Indonesia 🔥🤘🏻
So much to say about this - but to be honest it's all been said already. There should be much more said about where they recorded this....it has massive meaning. Then of course you really do have a group of musicians that love their history, their culture and have no issues getting together no matter that they are all invested in various other bands over the years. For me - personally - not a fan of the harsh vocals. ICX Vortex, love the guy's voice....Dimmu fkd up big time letting him go. Krystoffer Rhygg........WHAT a voice!! I fear this line-up may never happen again, but hey....we live in hope!!
So the drummer on this album is Baard Kolstad from Leprous. If you haven't checked checked them out, I can't recommend them highly enough.
Cool. Will try to check them out
