Unlike the Iceland £1 cottage pies which I thought were disgusting (regardless of being budget food!), these aren't too bad in my opinion. Obviously they will never meet the standards of a good home cooked version or a premium restaurant version, but they're not meant to. When someone reviews these they are reviewing a budget product designed for those who may be in a difficult spot and trying to make ends meet. They're not perfect and lack seasoning but overall I think there's enough going on with the filling to make up for it. Especially at 50p a bake. Good review.

You get what you pay for. I'd never expect much for a quid. I've just got into minced beef and onion as a pie or pasty filling. Was never a fan of onion but don't mind it. I get Clayton park minced beef and onion pies that are two for £3. They're decent. Well filled. Personally I wouldn't bother with these. Nice of you to try them though. You should try more of this range just to see what it's like. My daughter likes the bags of chicken and vegetable rice. You just microwave the bag.
Cheers Matt, I've tried a few of the new £1 range already, I will try more. There's so many I could probably do a few weeks of reviews just of this range but I think that might get a bit boring!
Shame they are bland but for a quid I suppose they'll keep one alive

I'll be honest, I pride myself in that I can cook and reasonably well. I also have the added bonus of enjoying cooking too. BUT I still LOVE LOVE LOVE a good ol' freezer meal. Sometimes they can just be as comforting as a homemade pie or whatever, with the added bonus of being quicker too! Hope you're doing well, Steve - and keep up with these awesome reviews!

I didn't think much of these they need more seasoning however the cheese and onion bakes are absolutely delicious

Bargain, i loved the 10 for 10 deal they have been doing, but the goodies don't last long!!!!
That 10 for 10 is a great deal, I'm lucky my local Iceland Food Warehouse is very close to where I work so I go in regularly to check what they've got 😊
