Hey all! Thank you for pointing out the audio issues here - it was a post-production oversight from us sorry about that! We were tempted to re-upload with the fixed audio but we didn't want to lose the engagement on the existing video. That being said, if enough of you want a re-upload or you want a version with the fixed audio then that's definitely something we can do. Let us know!
Louis' tutorials are simply the best ;) Lots of useful tips taught with great encouraging support. He seems to be born to teach. Sam was quite a receptive pupil, too.
I think one of the best things Louis is great at coaching is mindset. Climbing is a very physical sport, but it's way more of a mental challenge than anything else and if you can adjust your mindset you will naturally see physical improvements
The power of threes: 3 specific drills to improve the top 3 areas of need. Simple cues: climb with relaxed arms but strong fingers... pretend the holds are crumbling away and touch lightly. Listens to who he's coaching - and provides helpful feedback (good student here too). Excellent coaching and it works well on youtube, as he engages with each student (Sam, Neil, Hannah...) and shows them how they are capable of climbing better. Great job Louis! You may be an even better coach than a climber, which says a lot.
Great episode and awesome coaching Louis! Would love more episodes like this where you do a coaching session with an intermediate climber. Keep it going 🤘
Having done the same climbs as the cameraman and struggled with the similar climbs at Yonder, I'd have to say, I'm enjoying the free beta advice here. Going to attempt these again next time!
Louis, I love your coaching videos. They are so valuable. I really enjoyed watching how you make Sam explore the different options of doing just one move at the beginning of the video. And in general, it's always lovely to see how you apply some of your standard exercises from the training plans in a session and how (in this case) Sam is learning and improving thanks to those little challenges they create. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Great video! I found that my clients when are doing their confidence training really appreciate the "speed climbing" drill. It teaches them their physical limits and they get more in the "just go" mindset. Its possible to do on both routes and boulders and helps developing dynamism as well.
Very cool video! Love a good Louis tutorial. Also, interesting to see how often Sam wants to get his feet up high and get into a more scrunchy/froggy position considering that he's tall. And then as soon as you started doing the first exercise, he really got to use his length in those drop-knees.
Super helpful tips to try at home, especially during a progress plateau! Could defo benefit from Louis’ bespoke coaching. Cameraman also smashed the no hands drill, would love to see him feature more!
The problem is that it's unbalanced between right and left and a lot of the setting action is being picked up and makes a lot of noise. Besides, it's a great video!
loving all the videos, just a note - the audio is flipped here, Sam speaks from right speaker and Louis from left :) and it doesn't matter what their position on screen is at the time and it messes with my brain :)
I'm currently teaching a kid (7-11yrs) that I can imagine could/would be as good a teacher as Louis some day. She's so inspiring for me to be a better coach. Can't wait!
The audio is little strange on this video. Stereo panning moves in a weird way, not sure what's different from usual. Maybe it's because the audio guy is busy climbing...
This choice of word made me, as the reader, go back to check if I misread the word "cameramen" as "cameraman". Maybe if it said cameraperson i would have been better prepared for the ambiguously singular or plural nature of the word.
think would rather "cameraperson" because this is not simply meant to be a session with Sam but more what Louis looks for while coaching for the audience sake. As well, simply being more precise in description is not always better since "their" is not inaccurate and there is no confusion who is being discussed.

It doesn't matter really, and you already have 23k views.
This is unwatchable to me
Noticed for the first 30 seconds, then forgot and it didn't matter
@@Joel-co3xl I still watched but it was weird
The way Louis coaches make me think he would be a great dad. 😊
Louis' tutorials are simply the best ;) Lots of useful tips taught with great encouraging support. He seems to be born to teach. Sam was quite a receptive pupil, too.
Dude, Louis, you are an absolutely brilliant coach. Wow.
Ol' Capt Cutloose is one of the best coaches in the game. This dude will be training Olympians 🤙
Sam is so naturally talented and great exercises from Louis! Brilliant and super helpful video!!!!

Sam was at such a great level to learn from/with for a generally athletic, enthusiastic, but still relatively new climber like myself
Great episode and awesome coaching Louis! Would love more episodes like this where you do a coaching session with an intermediate climber. Keep it going 🤘
Louie you’re such a positive motivating coach! This was really grr we helpful, thanks!

Cameraman: * not behind camera *
Audio: Yeeee, no
Focus go brrrr as well

Louis energy is just so great, I enjoy every video so much!
Great coaching, because I cannot wait to try these drills. Sign of a good educator. Well done
Such great info, and drills that will be useful for a lot of climbers (myself included). I'll definitely be doing these moving forward!
Absolutely amazing content! Thanks for sharing your super instructive training for free with all of us

This was quite a good watch Louis and team. Good stuff!

Great vid. So much constructive criticism and drill ideas. Videos like this are how I have advanced myself and I appreciate it a lot!
Fantastic video. I am heading to London for the first time in a couple weeks, definitely hitting Yonder for an afternoon.
That smack sound at 11:45 had me walking around my house just now at midnight checking for what fell.
audio is cursed
Yes
Mhmm..🤷♂️
I thought I was tripping 😂

Ohhhh it’s flipped horizontally, left is right right is left
Love the coaching content & more of Sam pls
The reverse would be interesting - tips how to record yourself while climbing ;)
Gonna rewatch all my spray wall clips now.
Very nice video, I would enjoy to see more of Sam!
It was nice to see you climbing at Font this weekend!
loving all the videos, just a note - the audio is flipped here, Sam speaks from right speaker and Louis from left :) and it doesn't matter what their position on screen is at the time and it messes with my brain :)
Super helpful as ever, Louis. Yonder is of course ace too.
I can tell he has watched a lot of Louis while climbing! He some what has the same sort of style as him! :D
Sam's recent hero arch is my favorite
*Cameraperson is in front of the camera*
*Autofocus is all over the place*
Seems about right :D
Louis' mic is on the left channel and Sam's mic is on the right channel. Easy editing fix, probably an oversight during editing.
might want to switch this one to mono audio
Nervous about seeing my own climbing, but I guess it will be useful 😅
My own worst critic after all 😜
I'm currently teaching a kid (7-11yrs) that I can imagine could/would be as good a teacher as Louis some day. She's so inspiring for me to be a better coach. Can't wait!
Why do they do pushup after a climb? Is it because he jumps off instead of climbing down?
So who filmed the cameraman? 🤔
good try on the audio, but with people changing sides left and right, its probably best to just stereo the audio all the way through.
I'm not up to speed on the Catalyst lore ... what are the pushups for? haha
It is weird having the voice mics on split channels.
The audio is little strange on this video. Stereo panning moves in a weird way, not sure what's different from usual. Maybe it's because the audio guy is busy climbing...
Is that Ben Hargreaves setting behind you guys?
intense climbers back on louis
What's with the Push ups?
yeah the audio on this one isn't that great lol.
are bros rearing same glasses??? 😭😭😭
what are sam's pronouns? :)
His* climbing
"Their" is a perfectly good word to use in this instance
@@IxTwistyy nah, his is much better as it more accurately describes the person of subject.

Why comment this?
STOP BEING NERVOUS! !
