    Which ESC is the best option for you, is it Hobbywing 1060, 1080 crawler or 1080G2. Soon we will feed back on what is best for RC car racing...

    The HW1080 esc's are really fantastic little units. I've got them in all my current cars and ironically none of them are crawlers. 2 modern tamiya and a vintage rc10 and ultima. They are really great to set up and work so well. The programmers allow you to really set them to a specific car nicely. Puts everything we had in the old days to shame for sure.
    cheers.

    Wow Yeah Racing parts are super expensive there. Here in Malaysia it's 170 quid for a full kit the arms drive shafts hubs, shocks and more rhe only thing it doesn't have is the C hubs and servo mount but for 35 quid you can pick them up. I think though to much aluminum parts adds weight and not enough give maybe better for all that on a drift car or as spares.

    • @PopalongRC
      @PopalongRC  8 місяців тому

      Yeah they are more expensive as they have to be shipped half way round the world

    Your table setting is spot on for lighting and audio. Definitely can tell that filming is your other hobby. Great stuff

    Hi Carl I can highly recommend swapping out the blue alloy ball stud for the steel or brass ones on the m07r as it has the hardened plastics and I found that in crashes the alloy studs tend to shear off quite easily

    I'm thinking about picking up the NSU M-05. Got any tuning and set up tips on that one? It will be getting bearings and oil shocks immediately.
    Additionally, you make great and informative videos. I got back into RC about 3 yrs ago and started with bashers and 1/10 and 1/8 off road racing. Recently joined an on road group that runs TT01 Euro Truck, TT02 and TT01 touring cars. Last time I built a Tamiya was in the late 1990's. Your channel was one of the first ones that popped up when I was searching for Tamiya information and tips. I have since built and raced a TT-01E Euro Truck and that was a lot of fun.
    Props and keep up the good work.

    I found running xray progressive springs work well on a m05 ver 2

    • @PopalongRC

      That is what we run in our TC cars

      @@PopalongRC might try a set of progressive shock on the front of the m05 🤔

    On the 1080 the Sanwa issue can be resolved by upping the BEC to 6v as the receiver is a HV receiver. Not possible with the 1060, as it is not programmable. Just check your servo can take the higher voltage and you're good to go. 🤙

      Oh really I hadn't heard that but that makes sense I was pretty sure it's a receiver related issue. Unfortunately quite a few people race with the HW 1060

      There's gold here in this there comment!, Last time out (and only 4th run) my inconsistent braking issue was much improved, i was running my bec on the higher voltage for the 1st time. (7.4 vs 6v) So a capacitor issue then Millhouse?

    Just looking at your m05 looks like you mounted the ESC on top of the chassis the side platforms which screw on keep the weight a lot lower an receiver goes on opposite platform

      I have the option to put them there … thought process is trying to get weight forward.

      @Robert-gy4lv 9 місяців тому +1

      For getting the weight forward the front bumper is a great place for some weight as it's hollow.there is a great article on the rcracer on m05 set up found it a great help dialled in my car very quickly using it might be of help

    question your m05 has a rectangle hole for the battery and mine i used to run has the classic oval, did you modify or is there 2 versions of the m05 chassis ?

    • @PopalongRC
      @PopalongRC  9 місяців тому +2

      I believe this is the version 2 M05

    No man just No. Please just remove the price tags before filming. Wives and girlfriends might watch. They don't need to know that a couple of important springs cost nearly £20.
