I'm 48 and for 40+ years I was monolingual. I'm now fluent in a second language and officially bilingual. I started learning a third language 4 months ago. It's never to late to learn a language. In fact, it's never been easier to learn a second language as an adult - as long as the person has a good attitude.
@FaysalElAddouti Arabic surely has to be one of the most difficult languages for an English native speaker (like me) to learn. I won't rule out me trying to learn it in future, but the thought of having to learn a new writing system (such as Arabic) fills me with dread.
I am Latin American and I know how to speak Spanish and English, it is great to be able to talk with people from other countries and different cultures, I love being able to speak two languages
I can speak 5 languages quite good ! The Brain is busy translating these 5 languages in appropriate way . We are staying in foreign countries. We speak local language quite good . Easy going around !
Being able to communicate in three languages feels so good and it’s hard to explain with words, you must live it. Viva la diversité linguistique. Dios les bendiga 🇩🇴🇺🇸🇫🇷
I may be bilingual and trying to learn a 3rd language, but I'm still a huge dumbass. All I ever do with my bilingualism is that I sometimes pretend I can't speak the other language so I can eavesdrop. Yes I can read and write, but the last time I wrote anything by hand was like 4 years ago.
I wonder if the difference in life expectancy isn't simply due to the difference in average wealth between monolinguals and bilinguals. I mean, most of the time, when you're in a good (often paying) school, you don't have the choice of learning 2, 3 or even 4 languages...

Great for you! Congratulations! Only you can stop your learning.

@FaysalElAddouti I'm not interested in being smarter. I'm interested in communicating with others.
@FaysalElAddouti With all due respect, I'm not interested in any of that.

One thing I’ve realized is that by knowing and understanding more than one language, it has allowed me to enjoy other works of music and literature!
Very added-value video thanks for sharing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sharing knowledge is my pleasure! 😊
