You know, looking back at this image, I have to wonder if anyone had the thought of going rogue on either side because having battlemechs in the same room as wedding guests, just had to be nerve wracking for anyone that attended that wedding that wasn't a pilot being surrounded by powered down battlemechs, let alone House Liao given they would have reason to hijack as many of them as possible.
Sadly this is a more stylised rendition of the service - the scene from the Warrior Trilogy depicting it didn’t have any BattleMechs and even weapons were expressly forbidden (it was hosted on Terra at ComStar’s headquarters on Hilton Head Island). Jamie Wolf caused quite a stink when he was able to bring a daisho (the katana & wakizashi pairing of a samurai) and threw them at Takeshi Kurita’s feet. The blades belonged to a friend of Jamie’s who was also part of the DCMS who was forced to commit seppuku and Jamie blamed Takeshi Kurita for forcing him into that position.
Was that before or during the events in the actual game? Because I recall that a commander of the DCMS was forced into exile because they ordered a retreat.
@@cursedhawkins1305 the thing with Jaime’s friend, Minobu Tetsuhara, was in 3028 on Misery. He and Jaime became friends a few years prior when Minobu was assigned as the liaison officer while the Dragoons were working for the Combine. If you look up their articles, and the article on the Battle of Misery on the Sarna Wiki you’ll get a better picture than I could ever relate here. The DCMS commander going into exile that you’re thinking of was probably Yorinaga Kurita, who was exiled to a monastery after his failure to defeat Morgan Kell (commander of the Kell Hounds) in 3013.
So, there’s a possibility that this image could have still happened since the incident with Jamie in relation to the timeline that it didn’t happen yet, I might need to refresh my memory here but doesn’t the wedding happen before 3028?
