In ubuntu just use ctrl+alt+numpad e.g. ctrl+alt+1 will get your active window to bottom-left corner, ctrl+alt+2 will get your active window to bottom half of screen. If you press them multiple times window will get narrower. Only bummer is that ubuntu made some weird decision and messed up 4&6 for left/right side, it can be rebound.
Well this is the best time to learn this technology, it hasn't been this easy up until now. Google 'Code Academy', create an account and follow all the courses. Then google 'JS The Right Way', follow all of his recommendation. Learn about the Chrome browser DevTools. Learn 'twitter Bootstrap'. Learn Linux basics, run a webserver on your Ubuntu laptop. Look for web design internships on craigslist. Learn Node.JS or Python. Just keep trying you'll eventually figure it out.
They cheer because he remembered that whole line. People usually don't type that out since their editor automatically outputs it for them. But the point is that you shouldn't type it out, that its a good thing that the editor does it because it saves times.
This talk you already done earlier, if i have remember correctly. this is just a repetition. BTW Paul Irish rocks. Unfortunately, i just came back after attending Google IO extended at Hyderabad, India And nobody knows you here. I am a huge fan of yours. :D
what sublime plugin is used for the auto lint/hinting? i've been using a plugin that lints on save and shows a summary at the bottom, though live lint/hinting i haven't found. if anyone knows which plugin it is let me know
Uhh... re: Yeoman, are you really just using curl to fetch a script and piping it to your shell? No validation that you're executing what you mean to execute? That looks like a gaping security hole to me.
You can. But you are still introducing a bad habit of removing verification/validation prior to execution by providing this method as an example. This method should be reserved for internal use, not production level.
Even a few years old this is a great talk. Except there is an issue with the volume being low.

Paul Irish is the web developer's best friend.
Just watched this and Yeoman is still the best tool for the job.

Ur plan is the right plan. If not python, i will definitely suggest learn ruby before python.
I'm really looking forward to trying this out.
thank you very much kpobococ, It's exactly what I was looking for!
That server function at 6:18 is awesome, but I think you have to add an "-m" flag just after the word "python". (It didn't work for me without it.)
lol.. good one!
may be, he is working on breaking ABP to show ads regardless? If you've noticed, ABP in Chrome doesn't works as good as in FF.
Divvy. You might want to try Slate as a free alternative.
how does he resize/re-arrange his windows so easily? is he using an app?
Does anyone know what he's using to manage the open windows? That little grid that comes up and puts aligns windows together. What is that?
what is the name of the tool that allows you to change the size of your window?
how does he hide the breakpoint sidebar? I dont have that icon

I want the talk "Better Web App Development Through Trolling" :)
For some reason copying that appends some odd hidden content to then end. You may have to re-type.
Well spotted!
what's the chrome extension at 16:00? (prettifying js)
I dont get how he did that brouwser reload that css stylesheet without F5 and without scrolling??
z script is on github. Seach for "rupa/z"
he made a similar talk on jquery uk 2012 conference but yeah it's still awesome
Where can I get this z script from?
Thats Divvy. SizeUp is something similar.

So I found it, it's called "Pretty Beautiful Javascript" (youtube won't let me post a link, so sorry)

Nice. Cool.
He did that with LiveReload
watch out for loudness at 36:30
google srsly, every one of your talk videos has this problem
Maybe he checked the "I like the text ads on Google search results; show me those." checkbox?
I grabbed it from github. Google 'z directory script'
My best wishes for yeoman.io
It's called Divvy.
Sweet
it's called divvy
github.com fasd
or (homebrew installer) brew install fasd
why doesn't he use jQuery!!? Code Forest!
Google for 'divvy'
36:30 = Goodbye ears.
lol sounds like my team's philosophy
I believe this is the script. github DOT com/rupa/z
I'm sure they just do this so they don't advertise for free during demos ;)
test
Probably the biggest fail lol
