    This factory is quite a find. When you find things like this, it must be hard to not want to take something home, or wish you could personally afford to buy the goods and sale them.
    Lovely and engaging narration as always.

    Cheaps goods from the east has crippled industry all over the world, Even here in New Zealand, once the industry has gone, its very hard to start it up again when you realise the eastern products are cheap and nasty and of poor quality.

    This was both staggering to see, and very sad. I own a few antique Meissen pieces, and to think of all those molds and the history behind them just sitting abandoned and open to the vagaries of time and weather is painful. You did a beautiful job of showing us what is left there, and thank you for giving some of the history. I’m sure there are molds there from some of their very famous and rare pieces of the past. I hope whoever bought this is able to bring such an important historical treasure back into production with the same quality that gained it such a high reputation for so many years. I can hardly believe how many large places are abandoned in your part of the world as a result of the War and following communist occupation. Unlike Dresden, there is hope for this one to be revived. Great job as always. 🖤🇨🇦

    Incredible video, absolutely professional in every respect, the videography is awesome, the shots are atmospheric and emotionally thought inducing, and of course your brilliant narration just makes the whole viewing experience phenomenal... Beats most documentaries I have watched on TV... Your work is so much more interesting than the junk on tv as a whole nowadays! IMO... The narration is beautiful, so informative and well spoken with emotion which makes the overall viewing and "feel" amazing that one can be "transported" back in time to the abandon places heyday.... I said it before and I'll say it again, I feel you guys deserve a documentary production award, all your work is of such high standard and when you consider your probably low budget, and lack of facilities and a plethora of crew members your output is, Wow, just stunning.... We need to spread the word as you guys deserve Mega subscriptions....

    To see a product Survive the twists of fate and politics to disappear after 200 years because it is out of fashion is true insanity. It is like the Volkswagen Beetle, originally designed by Engineer Ferdinand Porsche ( A Genius) and built in almost the original form until 2003 in Mexico, was and still is a viable Auto for 67 years. thanks you for the look inside.

      Heaps of people would love to buy a new . . old style Beetle , cheaper & immensely better value than the flimsy over complicated , built to degrade quickly bulk of modern passenger vehicles . Once the globalists are defeated we will once again have the sturdy products the people really want . . not this current overpriced rickety plastic garbage .

    The British Porcelain industry suffered the same fate I'm sad to say.
    I studied the subject as a child with an intention to join the industry in Stoke on Trent in Staffordshire UK but I never took the opportunity because the whole process was becoming industrialised.
    So I took another path in life.
    It's rather ironic that the UK, Like Europe discovered the secret of porcelain and we also had huge reserves of the Kaolin clay down in Cornwall.

  • @donoester6744
    @donoester6744 6 років тому +1

    Really beautifully presented - thanks guys!! And it is sad that this is the direction we're heading with production of many things. My guess is that people don't buy a dining set for life any longer, but want to have it renewed once in a while, and hence they cannot afford what an European made high quality product costs, when the Far East variant costs 90% less to manufacture.
    Really beautiful "sample plate" at 6:48 !

    If someone is interested, it is the Goebel Porzellan Manufaktur. You can look it up in Google. Someone here also mentioned a Hummel figurine. And this is also how I found out about the manufacturer. It was sold and they still produce gift stuff. I guess the Hummel merchandise is what keeps it going. I don't think people appreciate porcelain dishes that much anymore and if, they would want the Meissen porcelain.

    Amazing! Some very old molds there which could be worth as much if not more than the pieces themselves. Appears that many of the pieces were decaled instead of hand painted. Sign of mass production but still beautiful. A friend's mom had a few pieces of Meissen porcelain from the mid 1700's and a few from the early to mid 1800's. All were family heirlooms and were worth a fortune. Thanks for a wonderful video and history lesson. You guys are the best!
