In this episode, we infiltrate an old fortress in the heart of Germany. The story of this unique site dates back all the way to the Middle Ages when a noble family was living here. What sounds like it could be a romantic story is actually quite the opposite. Because 150 years ago the castle was transformed into a prison! From now on it was a sinister place in which especially prisoners of conscience and forced laborers were locked away from the outside world. Today, the BWT crew is exploring this historical building complex and document what's left behind.

We have achieved another major milestone in our urbex career: On UA-cam, we reached 50.000 subscribers!
It took us three and a half years from our first upload to this amount of highly-engaged fans. Thank you very much for your support, all the comments and likes and your private message we receive every day!
Our goal is to double our subscriber count in less than a year! We will have more than 100.000 subs by this time in 2020. You can help us make this happen by engaging with our content and sharing it with your friends and family. From participating in a festival, a full-length movie right through to oral presentations on events we have great plans for the upcoming twelve months. Be part of it and spread the word!

Great video, you had the perfect weather for exploring this location! When we visited, we unknowingly parked at the police station you mentioned, and even launched our drone from right in front of it. We soon had the attention of the townspeople but luckily they were friendly to us once we explained that we were only interested in photographing the abandoned prison. They did ask us what our UA-cam channel was though and I wonder if their opinion of us changed once they realized we had snuck inside the prison haha.

You are the best at this! I wish others who do this would watch, listen, and learn. Too many just film an abandoned location without a bit of information and to me, anybody can do that. You make these videos worth watching by telling the story. Its almost like you stand there with your palm upturned to a place and blow life back into a place with your amazing gift for storytelling and tenacity for fact/information finding & checking. NO ONE is comparable. You ARE thee best!

I agree. One of my favorite US urbexers barely says a word, but still he's twice documented places he'd lived when he was small. The thing that rent my heart was that he did say both places had since been torn down. (I'm fortunate that my family was very stable and my parents only had two homes and a vacation cottage during my childhood and they're both still there. The cottage is gone, but I can still view the others via Google Maps.) These guys are tops, but the Proper People are on their level of quality, too.

Love the tour of the old reptile house, such a wonderful concept into the world of reptiles. Unfortunately, for the reptiles they still grow, less is always better, sad many got left behind after closing. Prison: always enjoy the aftermath of what prison life once was.BWT,your narration, and history provides in depth stories of each exploration. 🤔👍❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was visually stunning from start to finish. Your alligator and reptile facility still showed how it must have looked when green and vibrant with life. It will be interesting to see how Mother Nature moves in.
The prison was such a contrast, you could see the bones of a once handsome property cloaked in the dull depression of its years as a prison. I’m always surprised at some things that survive compared to others that so quickly begin to decay. I noticed that they got their hands on a good bit of that turquoise pain everything with enough age has been painted at least once. Thank you for this exploration...keep having fun, and stay safe out there.🖤🇨🇦

I guess if you are Bad this is where You go and They just forget about You, Till has more nerve than me. I would not get in that coffin at all. From the moment I saw the bearded dragons being co-habbed (they can cannibalize each other if not given a great amount of space), I instantly knew why the place didn't do well. The heating was a factor in making the space small, sure but that's no reason to have a great amount of cramming of animals in the same space. It just encourages aggression and competition to use the little amount of resources in the area. It's just a shame because it would have been fantastic had it not been for the lack of space. Less is more in such situations. I hope the squatters in the prison found a better life because there was already some aspects of moisture, and that always means the potential for mold. No good to sleep with. Thank you for the subtitles.

Jap, richtiger Hingucker, haste recht!

Good luck finding pristine sites like this in USA. I HATE vandalism. Ruin for all.

    • @dawn7612
      @dawn7612 4 роки тому

The vandals never had to work a day in their life. They don't appreciate what is involved in cleaning up the mess they make and the cost to replace glass, windows, walls, furniture staircases, etc.
If they had to pay for the damage they made they would be paying until they die!
I hate vandals! I had to clean up an apartment when our tenants grafittied all the walls and made a big mess. They were lazy art students and thought this was cool to spray all the walls with their aweful excuse for "art"!

@@bwturbex Sorry to hear that. I always wanted a remote controlled plane, but my parents never let me. Thus my biggest loss was a toy rocket. I had put a lot of work into it but I couldn´t recover it (the parachute didn´t open and I lost sight of it). Thereafter, I made only cheap rockets and inserted rocket engines and used them like silvester rockets. Was fun, but I did stirr up a bit of trouble... (but not as much as a friend who I gave a bag of smoke powder, which he burnt on the parking lot of a supermarket).

@@bwturbex It actually surprises me a bit that you guys don´t have climbing equipment. For one, protection would be a good idea in derelict buildings and occasionally using a rope would facilitate access.
Of course, I do realise that going in a city dressed like spec ops would attract a lot of attention...
