Maybe don't cook everything on the hob on the highest flame then it won't burn 😅
Top tip to stop your burgers shrinking, put a deep thumb print in the middle of each burger before cooking.
Perhaps one of your easier weeks ... the food was delivered to your door, it was already portioned out and Grace did virtually all the preparation and cooking. 😂
I would love to see you do a Week On recap, where you revisit past weeks and do meals that you either loved or hated. See if your opinion of them has changed in the interim time.
He never replies..lol
@@netrioter I know. It's really odd. I've never witnessed a UA-camr who never interacts with their audience. Quite sad tbh.
@@999life Then you probably dont know many. Not interacting with audience is pretty common, especially with the older creators
We stopped HelloFresh quite some time ago due to failed/stolen deliveries (not their fault), but man, we still use a LOT of the recipes. They've got some really lovely meals, and you can even look them up online if you need to. Fantastic meal company.
Disappointed you didn't make more reference to the cost, something which normally do on other 'week ons'. You vaguely mentioned it and talked about the fact you got a discount code on your first orders, but how would it actually stack up without the promo offers?
Last time I used it it costs around £4-6 per person, per meal (more if you get the premium extra charge ones). And the price/amount of ingredients (depending on what you select) you get for that cost is probably around £3-5 if you were to get it from the shops yourself. Paying full price for these boxes is really paying for the convenience. There are cheaper meal plan boxes about too but again same thing with paying for the convenience.
Seems like you had a better experience than most with Hello fresh for the simple fact you got sent all the ingredients 🤣
Yes I have read reviews, so many complaints, so I wont be trying it.
@TJ91 I used to order from them for almost a year quite a few years back, and I only ever missed a couple of items- one was hilarious though because they sent me the packet of the item only the packet was empty 😂😂
I’m just saying this based off their Twitter which seems to just be constant replies to people complaining about missing items 🤣 maybe the company is just having a blip in recent times though and they’ll sort it out!
Hi Mike, I have a cookbook from 1921 that does all vegetarian recipes. It has a menu example for one week of meals on this particular plan (based on Graham and his insistence on good digestion). If you want to give it a go, I can send the menu and all relevant recipes.
I would never say corn was buttery without the butter lol.
Now show us the washing up and the leftover plastic lol
That's why it says 1cm thick!
Mike, we're begging you to invest in one of those washable liners for oven trays. You'll never destroy a chip again.
Or baking paper
Funny enough I've got a hellofresh advert before this video. 😀
i recommend a basting-brush
9:37 it's Boris and Rishi 😂
You have foil in the oven 🤔😂
The breadcrumbs acts as a binding agent that keeps the burger from breaking up too easily. If you ever do the corn again heat up the oil to let the garlic and spices infuse into it then roll the cobs in the mixture (it covers it better and less messy). But defiantly grill it. The charred kernels adds even more flavor
I just feel they dont chop stuff enough or fine enough.
Doh!
If you'd have made the burger patties 1cm thick they would have shrunk and thickened to an appropriate shape instead of the meatballs you ended up with!
Also the chili jam is mostly sugar which is why it burned so quickly.
We use hello fresh for a long time now (at least 5 years) we normally do it one's per month 3/4 meals when there is a deal/sale. We make sure to choose dishes that we never tried or dishes we almost never make. Hello fresh has some simpler dishes on there menu like pizza, or taco's. We try to avoid those, because you can make dishes like that yourself without hello fresh.
How much does this cost? Seems expensive.
@@thejunkman £30 for 3 meals for two, (i.e. 6 portions), so that's £5 per portion, so yes, quite expensive.
@@alfje5492 Yes and no. For an occasional "treat" or experience it is reasonable to justify, but to replace traditional grocery shopping (stocking up/buying bulk) for everyday food. Yes very expensive. Not being familiar with how it all works I don't want to criticize too much as I am uninformed.
When you shape your burgers, make them shaped like a bowl... that way they won't puff up
Mike - what was the total cost of a week on “hello fresh”? Many thanks
We used to have this and it works out about £30 for 3 meals for two, (6 portions). Some stuff is a little bit more like tiger prawns or other specials add a couple of quid.
you are looking at £10 a meal for two a day. so really poor value if you really look at the whole week what he got in the bags. how small the amounts you get.
many small portions in plastic bags with sauces.
All these meals you could do for a fraction of the cost. all you get is the cooking card. and after spending £70 a week you need to spend money on breakfast and dinner so spending a massive amount of money being spend as well as a massive amount of cooking time and cost.
This was a nice week on, thanks Mike 😊
How is this comment showing as 5 days old lol
@@morgan3589 - Patrons get early access.
You should do a week on Mindful Chef, and compare the quality of ingredients (and price).
I was about to make this exact comment !
I tried Hello Fresh but ended up swapping to Gousto as Hello Fresh are very good at sending discount offers for new subscribers but nothing for regular customers, I had a lot of issues with damaged items with delivery too, Gousto recipe cards are a bit nicer too and they offer a free binder for them.
Yeah having tried both services I found Gousto tend to be slightly better and their recipe cards are better.
Although honestly a service I preferred was called Simply Cook. They only provide the sauces/powders so you need to buy the ingredients but it allows you to set your own portion sizes and substitute stuff you don't like.
@9:20 the flame's too high 🤣🤣
How much did all this cost. Looks expensive.
Surely once you have tried all of their range and have all the recipe cards, you could just pick what you want to eat and just shop for what you need. A slight flaw in their plan 🤣
Yeah, they're always adding new and changing stuff around and have specials worth to try but the everyday favourites you could. Thing is, for me anyway just taking the decision making of what to eat is worth it, not to mention the actual shopping.😂
I have 4 binders full of Gousto meals after using them weekly for three years. I thin I've only ever had a couple of meals twice, other than that, it's different meals every week.
All their recipes are free online so you don't even have to try it
Did he boil the chips first? Or rather potatoes. X
it would have been a lot less messy to apply that paprika oil with a brush :P
you should have substituted the parsley for basil:P
Mike saying 'I dunno why you've tuned in to Day 7'. WELL...
UA-cam keeps recommending 'Day 7' of any of your series I've not seen yet (I've not watched the Caveman diet yet, and that has Day 7 popping up every time).
Probably isn't good for clickthrough honestly. Anyone new seeing that might not bother...
#JustUA-camThings
Do a week on Too Good To Go. I only downloaded the app within the last few weeks, and I am thoroughly impressed. Not only can you get good food really cheaply, but it's also a mystery what you're gonna get. And it lets you find out about places you might not even know about.
You're so moany in this video towards Grace, I would have told u to do it your bloody self! That girl has patience.
A good point you make is that for a supposed service of convinience, they sure only took out the SHORTEST and EASIEST step of food-making, which is 'buy stuff'.
EDIT: And I just realized, you loose out on so much? Normal groceries would cost you a bit more, but if you nedded mayo - you'd have a jar. If you needed spice, you'd have it for later.
This is a just a single meal that means if you do like it then you have to buy all the stuff AGAIN. And the meat proportions give a real concern for quality of the produce...
So true. X
gowcho as in the great album by Steely Dan.
Aww little basil out in the sun bless him good luck with the meal take care
I’m glad you did a week on hello fresh.
You should do gusto & any other recipe subscriptions too, tell us what one you prefer.
Hey Mike. Could you do a week on the New Asda just essentials range?
"Smoky" is the American spelling of the work, Smokey is the British way, extra E, like Whiskey.
Got my first box coming next week looking forward to it
Day 7 was my favorite. That corn looked so amazing.
Mike, if anything, this week has displayed that the way you're cooking is ruining these meals. Medium High does not mean the highest temp
Obscenely random question but where can I buy a cutting board just like yours? My wife and I watch your videos all the time and thought I'd surprise her with that.
He's had it for years, but start by looking up Beatrix Potter -- that's the bunny design. She wrote Peter Rabbit.
Hello from Florida! Typical American food! I live in Florida. Typical foods here. Tasty but high calorie. I agree, corn doesn’t need butter. I would have used an Airfryer for a lot of what you made in your oven.
your kitchen always so clean!!
Love the way you & grace arguing over the food preparation 😝 Very yummy looking burgers 🍔
With us trying to do “our bit” for the world Hello Fresh need to do something about packaging
wasnt a real week on imo but was still nice getting something :) you have inspired me to do a week ons myself. i was gonna film them but as a wage slave i dont have the energy. i did save me a bunch of money though as i did limitef budget ones
Stop putting her down
You should do a week on the new yellow branded Asda label things
A week on potato chips/crisps/tortilla chips.
I'd love to see you buy a proper chopping board instead of using a work top saver.😉
Wickerman socks !
Can you do a week on the new Asda essentials range? Would love to know if it’s worth it!
Do a week on Simply cook 🤗
Where are the spices in that chimichurri? Here in Argentina, Chimichurri is always very spicy, not only parsley and oregano
Pronounced "gawcho" an Argentinian Cowboy
Yes, I was surprised he didn't seem to know what it was. Maybe he never watched cowboy films when he was a child.
Maybe a brush for the oil on the corn…just saying 🤷🏻♂️
A week on ASDAs new controversial yellow value range
Cook chilaquiles my friend !
The corn would Been easier dipping on the bowl
Hi mike can you please do a gousto box please for the next week on love all your week ons
Was a great week on.
CRISPS=CHIPS
CHIPS=FRIES
YOU'RE WELCOME!
I wait for a "Week of a rodeo clown scaring the shit out of Mike"
that burger looks very sad
You are so patient- I’d be 🤬🤬 by now 🤣
I did it before ( in Canada) I did the box for families it was good but we found the portions a bit smalll for a family of four with bigger eaters. I think it’s better for a couple or someone who lives alone 🤷♀️
Mmmml Patagonian Style Hamburger
Mike getting the missus to do all the hard work of coking😁
And again, Hello Fresh might be an easy and good alternative to people who don't like or think they don't have time cooking but the small plastic packages for everything is horrendous and just for that I would never consider neither encourage anyone to use that company
It is les waiste then buying in shops and most of the plastic is organic
And yet every cheap Chinese product comes with enough plastic to make make five species of ocean dwelling creature extinct. Bother them and let me have a straw that doesn't melt.
Mike, i think you need to know that a tablespoon isn't the same as what you eat your cereal with. It's a spoon for the table. That is, you might use it to serve out spouts or potatoes from a larger bowl on the table. Tablespoon.
Week on simply cook 👍
Do a week on what you normally eat or ate before you started doing week ons
I have watched all 7 days, one after the other.
I do feel that you have to be very very lazy to get these and spend on one meal for two people at £10. which is £70 a week. and looking at what comes looks so little and many very low value items.
the corn is £1.25 Asda. but you could use a tin of corn for 45p and just mix the coating on that. the mince may be 100g a 500g in aldi is under £2.
most of this does seem pointless, little plastic portions (not good for the environment)
just because people can not measure out a tea spoon of an item.
the burger should have been pushed down more to make them big enough to fit the bun.
I bet I could make that for more like £4 with out the silly added items.
Watching you two cook is painful sometimes
we survived 7 days of British cooking,
wasn´t easy but we made it!
and he messed up most of it even with a instruction
Risotto, that most British of dishes
Can you please do a week on ‘What’s for Tea’ please. She is a Scottish lady who cooks dinners on her UA-cam channel.
Its bloody painful watching yous cook at times!
Grace, your engagement ring is beautiful. What stone is it? Mine is Alexandrite. Plleeeease reply xxx
wow they actually tell you to BAKE burgers? thats kinda gross lol
That was poor chimichurri, should be way more oil and full of garlic and chilli
A week on I'm a celebrity get me out of here meals.....yes you can have that idea for free 👍
I find your cooking style quite entertaining but really I just keep shouting turn the flippin' heat down, but you won't listen!! Look, I'll even give you another piece of advice, save up your UA-cam pennies and buy yourself a Tefal Actifry. I've been cooking chips in mine for a few years now, it uses only a spoonful of oil, and the chips are magnificent. Nothing like your mangy chips in the oven!! What's the next week-on then? Looking forward to it, strangely enough. 🙂
That word is pronounced 'Gow-cho' and it's the word for an Argentinian cowboy.
EDIT: Not surprised about the chorizo. Jam/Jelly has a ton of sugar, and sugar burns VERY easily.
Try gusto there better
Sugar burns fast. Kind of basic cooking knowledge, there.
Ga-whooo-chow
they are the cow boys of south america, mostly Argentina
Guys no way will I get hello fresh.to me personally it's like to much hard work.there was only two meals that looked yummy yummy and that was the risotto and the tacos 😋.you come home from work feeling knackered only to mess about in the kitchen.holy pancakes I know I couldn't do it! Thank you guys for all the effort you both put into this weekon.i hope the decorating goes well for tomorrow. All the absolute best with it.peace and love 💛
A myocardial infarction on a plate. So much saturated fat.😵 Really enjoyed this week. What about a week on Gousto?
For the love of God please stop chopping stuff up on that glass board.
Hello fresh clearly have no idea what chimichurri actually is or know how to make it cos that defo is not chimichurri sauce.
Would of gone and made smash burgers at least they would get a good sear and flavour.
You sound so negative...Why are you so aggressive is when your girl are doing thing?
How about a week on Asda's new range to embarrass poor people?! 😂 Oh and a week on Too Good to Go would be cool 👍🏻
Absolutely nothing wrong with the products or the packaging it's stuck up people that's the problem
@@Scot-land Oh I know, I was poking fun at the silly news articles.
It's just rebranded smart price stuff, nothing new really xD
@@andreasernst1568 I know
Mike your always hungry unless your eating a week on pizza
Parsley in a burger whf?
How could you eat that burnt chorizo err
He didn't he ate burnt Choritzo, whatever that is! LOL
it's painful watching you two try to cook lol why didn't you just put the corn in the paprika mixture toss it around and then drizzle what was left on top... oh my word it's just common sense... not even cooking...
