Correction: What You’re Doing is on the Beatles for Sale album, not Rubber Soul. The last 12 string song was “If I Needed Someone”, which is from the Rubber Soul album.
Technically your right Nic it appeared on "Beatles for Sale " in the UK but it appeared on Beatles VI in North America because Capital Records decided to alter the content of the bands albums here in the US which never made any sense to me! It was a McCartney song credited to Lennon-McCartney written in Atlantic city by Paul after the 1964 world tour! LONG LIVE THE FAB FOUR (Great job on that beautiful Ric by the way)
@@rockinrobb4350 yeah I heard Capitol messed with the releases over in the states for some unknown reason. Hi Mark - Fantastic sound and presentation. Would you please let me know what your signal chain is for this video ? ( compressors, string brand and gauge, etcetera ) Excellent Rick 12 string tone ! Best Wishes - John
Hey Joel. Yes, I used the backing track of Ably House for If I Needed Someone. I usually do my own but I just bought the Spark and I went to the cloud thinking that everything on there was just open source. I didnt realize that it came from another youtube channel. I have subsequently checked out the channel and it's fantastic. Did I use a rhythm track from Michael Sokil? I don't know who that is either but I know I got a couple from the Spark. Hey Craig. I tried to do as much digging as possible for these to make sure that every song definitively featured the Ric 12. There are a few songs where the use is contested. Hey Charles You wouldn't believe it. I played the solo to A Hard Day's Night. I've used the clip in probably 5 videos. All of a sudden, some guy tells me that I copied his direct recording of it. "If I Needed Someone" Amazing riff, amazing song, amazing album, amazing guitarist, amazingly underrated and under- used songwriter. The Beatles are perfect in my mind and I have no complaints of their body of the art of sound. but I sometimes wonder what their albums would have been like had they utilised more of George's songs. When you listen to " . . . All Things Must Pass," you get an idea, but what would those and other songs have sounded like had they been on Revolver or Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band? Would not some of them been great additions to the White Album? Listening to "It's Only A Northern Song," and "It's All Too Much," from the oft-under-appreciated Yellow Submarine only makes me imagine more of Harrison's unused works and their possible trailheads. The Beatles were and are awesome and more than just a band, they were a 10-year Moment; an event; a milestone in all the lives they touched, and George helped make it all that much more grand.

Mark, you play the 12 string so good! Loved your post! Greetings from Hollywood California.
Hey Ticarot. I sincerely appreciate the kind words. Being a low mid level youtuber is a strange existence. Too successful (and lucky) to give it up but every time you get a 25k video, you get one that struggles to hit 1000 views. Comments like this are what keeps me going. I mean that very literally. This one was particularly timely. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Take care and be well. Mark
For sure. I did a live stream in which I argued that one could make a solid argument that George is the best rock guitar player ever. It all depends on the qualifications and definition of best. Thanks so much for checking out the video. I really appreciate your time and comment. Take care and have a great weekend. Mark
You missed the dissonate note at the end of I Should ‘ve Known Better solo. Listen closely. Also, although its been argued to death, the opening “chord” of “A HardDay’s Night” sounds more like the recording when playing live with one guitar (Rick 360/12) playing Fadd9 and the other (Acoustic 6 or 12) playing Gm7sus4. Try it, you’ll like it..
Liam. That is such a good call. I totally forgot about that song and if asked, I NEVER would have got that right. Proves time and time again that viewers know WAY more than I do. I learn something from you guys everyday. Thanks so much for checking out the video. I appreciate your time and comment. Have a great day and take care. Mark
Hey Mike. Ugh. I know. I am a huge Beatles fan and know every song on every record. It was an editing mistake. Hopefully, none of my close friends will catch it. I will never live it down!. LOL. Great stuff. Thanks. Good for you for pronouncing Brian Epstein's surname correctly. There is some disagreement about the intro. to 'Every Little Thing' - some say John wrote and played it.
" . . . indicative of George's genius." Oh, brother. Yeah, all three notes really make someone a genius. Typical hyperbole from a person unable to generate an original thought.
‘ What you’re doing ‘ is from a far earlier Beatles Album - Beatles for sale in fact. Unless you’re referencing a USA album release; they had some differentiation between tracks.
I want that guitar but unfortunately it's so expensive. Also What You're Doing is on Beatles For Sale and the guitar was on Every Little Thing the whole way through.
Yeah, I know. I edited it wrong. I know every song on every album. Believe me, I've taken a lot of crap from my buddies who know that I'm a Beatles nerd. I did some pretty cool Beatles solos in yesterday's video if you have a few BEATLES BEST SOLOS (ACOUSTIC) ua-cam.com/video/y6Xa7lDCqZs/v-deo.html. I wish the mistake was one of those where the American pressing could have saved me. LOL. I do appreciate you checking out the video. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and take care. -Mark
@@8MinuteAxe its cool. I could tell you all about the UK releases but the US releases is another story. Except for Rubber Soul to Revolver. Yesterday and Today is a good one, only if you got that original pressing. I'd like to take a trip across the state one day and nose around where the record pressing plant was. You know someone is sitting on a box of records up there.
Long story short, the day I found out that my wife had a serious medical condition, some guy claimed that I copied his recording of A Hard Day's Night. While it's possible that I used his backing track (when I say his, obviously none of it is either of ours, it's a Beatles song) why would I copy a simple solo which took all of 5 minutes to record when I do Cliffs of Dover and Mood for a Day live on the channel? Anyway, this guy started harassing me, and then he had his friends start harassing me. And then he started contacting my fans telling them I copied him. I kid you not. Those are the kind of people out there. I even told him about what I was dealing with. So the easiest thing to do was to just cut it out. One important lesson I learned is to have empathy for people that are accused of something because there's no real recourse. If I was on the other end of that, all I would have done is say, I'm sorry about your wife, how is she. Soulless jerk. Anyway, there's the story. Sorry to rant. Please take care, stay healthy and be well. -Mark

Hey Gabriel. I did for one track (if I needed someone). I thanked them. I actually got the backing track in the Spark Amp Cloud and didnt realize it was linked to a youtube video. Until this video, I had never heard of Ably HB. Great band. I'm guessing you've seen Get Back? Amazing. I have a ton of complete
Beatles cover with my own tracks if you're interested. I did pretty cool covers of A Day in the Life and Lucy. Either way, thanks for watching this one. I appreciate your time and comment. Take care and be well. Mark
Mark, you play the 12 string so good! Loved your post! Greetings from Hollywood California.
'If I Needed Someone' is inspired by Roger McGuinn's 12-string Rickenbacker riff on The Byrds 'The Bells of Rhymney'.
Yes, you really can hear McGuinn in that one.
Bravo! Well researched. Well played. Well presented. And thoroughly enjoyable.
Mark
The Beatles Pioneered 12 String music, and rock.. but mostly 12 string music
great story. a complete new view on The Beatles and the leading role of George as the real soundmaker.
For sure. I did a live stream in which I argued that one could make a solid argument that George is the best rock guitar player ever. It all depends on the qualifications and definition of best. Thanks so much for checking out the video. I really appreciate your time and comment. Take care and have a great weekend. Mark

between john and paul in the background is the Dakota apt where John would be killed decades later.
The last song George recorded his ‘63 Rickenbacker 360/12 on was “Fish On The Sand” from his 1987 album “Cloud Nine.”
Liam. That is such a good call. I totally forgot about that song and if asked, I NEVER would have got that right. Proves time and time again that viewers know WAY more than I do. I learn something from you guys everyday. Thanks so much for checking out the video. I appreciate your time and comment. Have a great day and take care. Mark
Hi what do you think of the Yamaha LL16 12 compare to the classic guild F 512 ?
The # 6 song is off the Beatles For Sale LP or Beatles VI, Not the Rubber Soul LP Cheers!
Hey Mike. Ugh. I know. I am a huge Beatles fan and know every song on every record. It was an editing mistake. Hopefully, none of my close friends will catch it. I will never live it down!. LOL. If the video didn't already have 4k views I would seriously consider taking it down. Anyway, thanks so much for checking it out. Can I redeem myself with a pretty cool cover of Lucy LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS COVER AND LESSON ua-cam.com/video/vZdVOj1wSr8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=8MinuteAxe. Have a great weekend and take care. -Mark
@@8MinuteAxe Keep up the fantastic work!! Beatles Rule
Wow! Great stuff! Love the sound of a 12-string! It'd be awesome to be able to add one to my gear.
What You're Doing was off of For Sale. Not Rubber Soul.
Didn't John play Across the Universe on a 12 string?
Always thought "Here comes the Sun" 7th fret was played on a 12 string ?
Impressive history lesson; accurate and liking the selections.
#4 would have been my #1.
Very Zen!
Missed my favorite,,,Nowhere Man
Here you go Al ua-cam.com/video/uG-SFyLvBeA/v-deo.html
I did a complete cover of it. I hope you like it
Love your channel...but what about the outro of a Hard Day’s Night?
All great songs. Made great by those iconic riffs
So Mark, why do you think the 12 string was so popular back then ?
Great covers but what you’re doing is off Beatles for sale 😂
Well done there's no guitar that sounds like a rickenbacker
Have you already done anything regarding the Byrds?
What your doing, Rubber Soul? Kkkkkkk
Is that a Harley Benton RB-612 CS hanging on the wall?
is Day Tripper not a 12-string riff?
Every Little Thing is John on the 325/12
the beatles were at their best when george had his 12 string in hand
Honestly, i call your name needs to be more in high position
There is no no.4 !
-Mark
@@8MinuteAxe Sad to ear that, I hope she is better now.
For number 9 he uses the 12 string for the outro and also the solo
Another brilliant video dude. You're on fire lately!
He's using some of Ably House's audio clips.
Listen to this and compare: ua-cam.com/video/zAGM5t4HBCM/v-deo.html skip to 2:22
Awesome video, Mark
which kind of strings did u use?
John played the lead on Every Little Thing on his 325/12
Yes he did. I've been hearing about it from all the people I've bragged to over the years about what a Beatles fanatic I am. Over two years of it. LOL. You're obviously a big Beatles fan. Let me know what you think of these if you have time LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS COVER AND LESSON ua-cam.com/video/vZdVOj1wSr8/v-deo.html&ab_channel=8MinuteAxe

What’s it like to borrow other people’s audio?
