Our Justice system has been tasked with institutionally saving the country after the legislative branch by virtue of the Republicans failed to hold Trump accountable while in office. So much for that guardrail. Then you've got the Electoral college, so much for that guardrail. Now you have the Supreme Court kneecapping our system of justice, so much for that guardrail. And since they're not going to decide until June whether Trump is immune and can kill his opponents, we are pretty much going to have to depend on gerrymandered States and districts and a litigious Republican party that will now draw out any electoral Victory if there is one. So now we're going to be in a legal Limbo with a recalcitrant Republican de facto Supreme Court so-called. Republicans have to lose... in all branches of government they must lose. In the state houses in the mayoral races in the governorships and most certainly in the Federal offices.

It looks like Roberts is going to give DT (only him) complete immunity. He is reportedly very unhappy about the lower court ruling. He is under no obligation to give a reason or legal justification. It would free up a ton of money for the RNC and the campaign. All the legal expenses would effectively go to $0. One ruling. Total immunity. Der führer. A beautiful side-effect would be DT could do anything on the campaign trail, launder money, order voting machines seized, instigate another insurrection, order hits on his political enemies, and there wouldn't be a darn thing anyone could do about it. They are a mess but it's about 50/50 odds right now that Trump gets away with it all. Trump has managed to delay all the cases with the exception of the NY documents case and now none are likely to be heard until after the election. The NY case is the weakest and is the least likely to sway voters even if convicted. Biden is unpopular to the point where Trump could win fairly and even if he doesn't, he has been putting the people in place to support him when he calls the election rigged to get the state legislatures to call it in his favor. Once in, project 2025 will be implement which will allow Trump to have free reign.
