and also back in the first dark souls and I'm pretty sure most of them actually it was all done frame by frame which is really impressive kind of regret how I stopped practicing it tbh but oh well xD
@@artorias5737 Even in DS3 the animations don't look mo-capped at all, animations like Gael's and Gundyr just have so much weight, force and impact into them they definetly are manually animated.
@@NeonFlamingo1337 Eh they where never really about the animations anyway but yea their is a lot of jank personally 2's animations felt the worst for me as well as the gameplay.
@@artorias5737 Ds2 animations were actually much better because they used mocap, the made a worst implementation, Ds1 and 3 are handmade and some of them are poorly made, like you can see here where Artorias doind flips and rolls
Detail I noticed bear the end of his death animation. He tries to keep going by pulling up his sword, but he just doesn't have the strength to do it anymore. 😥
@@yagamomay Common misconception. My offhand has always been my left. That is to say, the arm I'm not dominant with, is the one I once used my shield with. My greatsword has always been in my right hand. This is the way of the knight.
The best one is Artorias back rolling animation seriously it's funny how it shows he puts all of his body on his right arm and also the "parry" animation.
I like how he's got falling animation and so much staggers: -miyazagi player won't see half of that stuff -It's in the checklist god damn it! Also you underestimate cheat engine.
Dark souls remaster I expected cloth physics as the main addition since silver knights had it innate as well as many bosses with it layered on I know it'd take months to do it well but the little things impact a lot and fashion souls is always the game
REally cool. Except I'm trying to use this for a reference for a few animations that I'm working on and it makes it really difficult how the camera keeps shifting as he's performing his moves. It would be much more helpful if you got a shot from the front and a shot from the side for each move instead of shifting the camera around constantly. I'm sure you didnt create this with people using it for animations in mind, regardless, thank you for putting this up.
Essentially he pledged to stop the spread of the abyss, which is an ever-growing, all-consuming, void of darkness that can inhabit and corrupt people. To do this, he just straight up yeeted himself into the deepest chasm of the abyss and came out not only corrupted in mind with a broken left arm (which is his dominant arm btw), but without his magical great shield, in which he gave up to save his loyal wolf Sif. What a legend indeed.
Thx for sharing this. Can i ask you where you have recorded that? I would like to use Artorias moves as reference for a private project but your just moving the cam to much. So i would like to record it my self. Any tips how to find that?
God its been years since I uploaded this theres a dark souls animation viewer on github I think was the application but that only worked for prepare to die so I can't help beyond that there was also a ds model viewer all github related so you shouldn't struggle too much hopefully. github.com/soulsmods/DarkSoulsModelViewerDX

Depends. Most Dark souls animations looks really bad and stiff.

Never realized I had so many flip animations.
I am just as surprised as you are sir Artorias
It’s Artorias. Why not?
I agree
We’re u using ur off hand?

God, the detail on the broken arm and the implications lore-wise make me so sad. Such excellent boss design.

Actually he can stagger if you attaci him whe he tries to buff himself
Of course not. Sense in absent from miyazaki games.

His whole existence is cool
Thank you so much for uploading this
But seriously why tf do enemies and bosses in this game get some cloth physics but not the player
Dark souls remaster I expected cloth physics as the main addition since silver knights had it innate as well as many bosses with it layered on I know it'd take months to do it well but the little things impact a lot and fashion souls is always the game
Because the cloth is actually made out of aluminum foil.
Didn't notice I have great movements ..XD

I’ve always wondered why his left arm is so limp
It’s broken

If i'm not mistaken, he's left-handed so we basically fight a nerfed version of Artorias as his arm is broken

Forgive me I don't know any lore about Artorias other than he's not in his right mind anymore.
