I completely enjoy that footage, it's one of my favorite, peeking in and getting to see that.. But , I wouldn't go so far as to say most important in modern music.. #keepitreal
This started the second phase Rolling Stones.. this was an open letter from Mick To Keith.. we arenin this together whatever happens we go on and rocknroll (and make the billions we didnt do til now).. Love Charlies playing here.. and on Steel Wheels generally he was a soldier of rhythm. Steady as a rock.. sounds easy but not easy to be that square for 5 mins.. this song is a classic. Stones are my church
Thank you! I remember hearing it on the radio in 89 before the album was released. Such magical times waiting in anticipation for a new Stones disc, and yes, they've been unstoppable since Steel Wheels.
Seriously Steel Wheels might actually be my favorite Stones album. "Mixed Emotions", "Rock & A Hard Place", "Hold On To Your Hat", "Almost Hear You Sigh". Number 2 would be Sticky Fingers.
Best song on "Steel Wheels" album and one of the best of their amazing career. Every time I feel down I play this song and automatically my spirits rise... MASTERPIECE!
I agree. This one, and Undercover are the 2 that can match their very best after Tattoo You. The song is really bittersweet since I never knew when I was younger that I could have so many Mixed Emotions about so many things.
@@joshblackman9949 They tried it in 2016 like once or twice but never did it again. This would be such a cool song in concert, especially with that opening riff.
I seen this show at the Pontiac Silverdome. They were really good that night. They played Ruby Tuesday and 2000 Light Years from Home a couple rare ones. :-) Peace
Lucky!! Love their psychedelic songs, She’s a Rainbow is a fav too! Saw them in ‘99 at Myriad Center in OK City, 19 yr young Jonny Lang opened; he was fantastic. This was when I became entranced with them and their music; Mick strutting down the catwalks his young exuberance~energy. My lady friend had the biggest crush on Mick, I didn’t feel the same but during the performance I was under his spell~thumb, hooked ever since. Live music is where it’s at!❤
I remember them doing those. I was at the Foxboro shows. They did two shows. In between, they shot the video for "Rock In A Hard Place". I was in the 7th row.
The bridge. Listen to the bridge at least 100 times on repeat. E F# G. A child would not write a progression so simple, but it is fabulous. Ronnie’s sinewy lead. Bill’s slinky bass. The hallowing vocals.
Remember when this song hit the radio airwaves. Then the announcement of a World Tour. I was so pumped for this show. Slept out overnight and landed in the 5th row for my efforts. I was all of 20 yrs old and on top of the world getting a chance to watch the Glimmer Twins doing their craft. First of many times actually. Secretly wishing I could of seen those Englishmen in 1973 or 1978.
@@ralphowen3367 😅so lucky!! Can’t imagine seeing the Stones in their early years. So jelly! Micky Dolenz was my favorite Monkee; the funny~goofy drummer who made me laugh, had a major lil’ school girl crush! 😻
I'll totally give it to you for camping out for tickets. That's before the internet and "fan platforms" that purchase tickets online. I passed up the Steel Wheels tour and I wish I hadn't.
@@phill.2924 You may not have meant this for me. But I had to grow out of the Stones when I came into the possession of Jesus Christ the Lord. English men are rarely adult baptised, and I am still looking for some Christian testimony of how they got saved from their sins, if at all.
The Bear season 3 trailer brought me here!
me too
but more like recetly watching the episode of The Bear. How did I not appreciate this song when it came out originally.
@@dalovelee666 I know, right? Great song by the Stones!
The Stones in general brought me here.
I just watched the Season 3 Episode for the Bear, and ended up here 😂😂
Same! 😂
One of their best, with Keith singing harmony!
Charlie Watts is absolutely flawless on this.
Waiting for the new album!!! ❤
This song is freaking cool. I like it so much. I really get off on the Rolling Stones. That band rocks!
Wish they played this one in their concerts after Steel Wheels was behind them! Best damned Band in Rock n Roll. Rip Charlie❤😢
The footage of the Glimmers writing this track is some of the best and most important in modern music. Living legends.

I always felt that way about this song, too. That it was a song between Mick and Keith after going through WW3.
Great analogy and makes complete sense, given the circumstances.
Thank you! I remember hearing it on the radio in 89 before the album was released. Such magical times waiting in anticipation for a new Stones disc, and yes, they've been unstoppable since Steel Wheels.
Yes, Charlie had a superb timing and a nice tight snare drum. Iron Maiden's Nicko McBrain has comparable timing - tight af.
Love This ❤ Thanks for sharing ❤️ It means so much to your FANS ❤ Hugs and Love from all of us.
I've always liked this song! The chorus is awesome!
It sure is, stood out to me too; just so beautiful!!🎉
The same for me. So beautiful. One of the best Stones chorus. The bridge is awesome to.

I've always said this song has everything in it to make it a number one hit.
If they re-released it and promoted it - its a number 1 !
You're not the only one, with Mick's Emotions.
The stones are one of my favorite bands of all time I listen while I'm at work and people stop just to hear some great stones....
Never really paid attention to the lyrics of this song before. I like it even more now that I have!
Such a great tune. What a shame they never play it anymore in their shows.
Yeah I saw them with my pops here in Columbus Ohio in 2015 they kicked ass but I was disappointed I didn't get to hear this live

@kingbreck4648 definitely! It's one of my all time fav Stones Songs and the first song I ever heard from them as a youngster
This is the last song that really that has that Stones sound, and feel! Love it...
The magnificent Charlie Watts locking in back beat. Miss you Charlie
