      I don’t see any corsair ram in white available for amd, it’s all for intel 😢 (US) what can you recommend? I also want white for my build 🥹

      I used it with XMP on this system and it was fine, but YMMV

    What is the issue(s) with Nzxt RGB system? I was highly anti-RGB for my previous builds so my knowledge base is next to 0. This case and other current white parts have me considering a full blown RGB, so I'm taking any input I can! Like the tip for reverse blade fans. Had no clue about that!

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  7 місяців тому

      I'm not a fan of the NZXT CAM software, and the cables used are proprietary. Whereas brands like Thermalright use industry standard 3 pin ARGB plugs

    • @krazyfrog
      @krazyfrog 5 місяців тому

      @@thecomputersurgeon That's true if you buy the fans separately or if you get their AIO. The ARGB fans that are pre-installed on their cases have standard ARGB connectors. You don't need their hub or software to use them.

      Ah I see, thank you!
      Edit: I would add that if you mix brands the colours might not be the same

      Works at 6000 CL30 on XMP. Most XMP profiles will work on AMD except the ones over 6400MHz. But the other timings are often a bit better on EXPO from my understanding. If you've got the choice, then EXPO is better for AMD, but in my case I wanted this specific look so went with the XMP kit

    This is awesome, it's one of the best H6 Flow's build that I ever seen on YT, maybe you can help me, I just bought this case and I'm looking forward to do my first build, I'm a filmmaker and I currently use an M1 Max Macbook as first machine for editing and M2 Mac mini for support, but I'm currently looking for a Windows PC for 3D and CAD for some projects, I'm also a gamer and I have never had a custom PC. I got 2500€ or 2100 in £, I did some research looking videos and I ended with this components:
    CPU - ( same as yours ) Ryzen 7 7800X3D
    GPU - Zotac 4080 Super Trinity OC 16GB
    Motherboard - ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A DDR5
    Ram - CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36 Intel XMP
    SSD - Samsung 980 Pro 1TB
    PSU - NZXT C1200 PSU
    AIO - NZXT Kraken 360
    2x 140 MM NZXT Rgb FAN
    1x 120 MM NZXT Rgb FAN
    Do you find it a nice build for both gaming and editing or you think that I can change/improve something for this budget? Thank you for your answer and keep it up with these videos! 😁

    I am making 7800x3d with 4090 strix oc, I keep seeing “anything but Asus motherboards” really need help picking one..

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  4 місяці тому +2

      The 7800X3D does not need a posh motherboard at all - this one was chosen just for the aesthetic alone. A midrange board like the MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi (black) or Gigabyte B650 Gaming AX Ice (white) are plenty, given the low power usage. In truth, a 7800X3D will run on really cheap boards just fine as well - there are a couple of AsRock MATX boards that are dang good for the money too

    How is it possible that you have so few subscribers? Here's a new one. Amazing video. I really liked your way of explaining, recording and editing. Would you choose this case or the Phanteks NV5 for R7 7800x3D and 4070ti Super? For a white build.

      Gracias!
      I am hoping my time will come - just need some videos to take off
      The NV5 looks great I've just never used it myself, so I couldn't comment. They're both awesome so I'd personally just go for whichever is aesthetically your cup of tea
      Most dual chamber cases like these have similar performance, with some minor variance

    • @Varowo
      @Varowo 5 місяців тому

      @@thecomputersurgeon I also hope you get those times. Because people see a 10-12min video, but in reality it takes hours, between pc setup, testing, recording and editing.
      Thank you very much for this response as well. I think I will discard the case H6 flow because in my country their fans are more expensive than Phanteks. So I will look at white configurations with Nv5 and Lancool 216 finally :)

    Great review. I just built a similar system, but in a Hyte Y40. However, I have a custom build gaming chair and the case sits against it, so having all the fans flat on the side doesn't work. Having them at an angle like this is perfect! I just wish I'd realised the problem earlier.

    Great video!
    I am looking to build a PC with the same motherboard, CPU, and RAM. Did you have any issues with the PC not posting due to RAM? I’ve seen people lower the RAM speed to 5200MHz (even though the RAM is rated for 6000MHz) due to PC not posting or being unstable. Also, did you tweak anything in regard to the PBO (setting a negative curve optimizer on all cores to negative 30) or XMP profile for the RAM?
    The videos I’ve seen that have me asking questions are a bit older, and I’m not sure if current BIOS updates have fixed issues I’ve seen in regard to AM5 platforms, specifically the 7800X3D. I’m just trying to see if you had to optimize anything in the BIOS or was this just a simple: build the pc, turn it on, enable xmp profile and you’re good to go.
    I would really appreciate a response since I am looking to build an almost identical build. AM5 has me worried, and I may end up just going with a i7-13700k. However, I’d really like to have a 7800X3D due to it being the “Best Gaming CPU”.
    Thanks!

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks!!
      AM5 is awesome - don't be worried! I have never had a system on AM5 that failed to POST
      I always update to the latest BIOS. Your RAM should always POST and it will just run at the base JEDEC speed (normally 4800MHz depending on the kit) until you enable XMP/EXPO. The kit worked flawlessly with no problems at the rated speed. EXPO kits are preferred on AMD but this one did happen to work despite only being XMP certified
      The CPU is stock with PBO on by default. I leave the tweaking alone because these systems are to sell, so need max stability. Though if it was my own system I'd just put on a - 30 curve optimiser and leave it there. If you get any weird behaviour back it off to - 20 and you'll be golden
      Hope that helps :)

    This sketchy Pci-e adapter should never be used. The debate over the 12VHPWR plugs hasn't ended yet but it's almost save to say that the design is problematic at least. If you want do good for your customers just use the original cables provided with the PSUs/from the manufacturer of the PSU (warranty reasons).

    • @thecomputersurgeon
      @thecomputersurgeon  7 місяців тому

      I've used these dozens of times without issue since the 40 series came out, so your milage may vary I guess 🤷
      I think the key thing is to ensure it's firmly plugged in. We'd cover any problems under warranty regardless
      I'm glad there's a new connector because 4 x 8 pin would be troublesome. However I agree 12vHPWR has a lot of room for improvement!

    • @FoRk-One
      @FoRk-One 7 місяців тому

      @@thecomputersurgeon Yes, it may vary as always. The reason for melting connectors was at first pointed out to be user error. But some newer findings say it's an issue with the contact surface/spring mechanism on each pin (if angled the contact area gets too small/hot). Afaik some manufacturers have (will) stop producing adapters - that indicates the manufacturer of the GPU might deny warranty and point at the adapter to be responsible...way too complex topic for YT comments.

    • @thecomputersurgeon

      @@thecomputersurgeon Also when buying a system and planning on using it for more than 2 Years (or warranty period). If tension is involved, I think time could be a negative factor in this, too. All that said it seems that only 4090s draw enough power to make it a problem. They're not changing it on ATX 3.1 for no reason... and no offense, just trying to make you reconsider this :)
