Rammstein is the biggest band in the world at the moment.
I've never heard of them. I don't listen to the radio unless it's classic rock stations. I don't listen to anything after around 2001.. I didn't even know these people

Stein um Stein is one of my favorite songs by Rammstein.
I like the ambiguity of the line, "outside it begins to dawn", because it also describes the fact that the outside world is becoming aware of what is happening behind the wall.
Another great song from this concert is Morgenstern.
Have a feeling this is talking about Till and the band's experience with the Berlin Wall growing up before it fell. Till has only talked about it a few times, but he (understandably) has a lot of trauma from that time.
The Berlin Wall was not importend, the Wall from the GDR was the Problem, no Freedom

They are the biggest! I'm going to see them live in May and July-Stadium Tour. Another heavy song( with a true story behind) is "Wiener Blut".

To be fair, I was just thinking about this yesterday in the context of Rush drummer Neil. If his last name was spelled with an "h" in place of the "p", it would be a very different pronunciation and incorrect way to learn how to pronounce his last name
In terms of selling out stadiums they also sold out Madison Square Garden over multiple nights. Put effort into your live shows and you'll sell out anywhere.
The greatest band
Remember, they come from East Germany. You can't easily erase a collective memory. Having to watch a wall being built through Berlin and the borders being closed. Look at the song from this perspective. There are often many layers in a Rammstein song...
I always took it from a count of Monte cristo Angle i never thought about it from this perspective, but that makes absolute sense.
Stone by stone means building something, be it a wall, house or other things that you build piece by piece, but which can also collapse very easily
Ministry and Rammstien had beef back n the day.
It has a few different meanings that could be taken away. The two main ones for me are the Berlin Wall just cutting off East Germany from the Western world.
As an Eastern European, I have read a lot of these old European tales of building the most important building/village church or richer house with the prettiest/ holiest young woman in the village as foundation. Which sounds so twisted.

This was deep. Till was supposed to give another "scream" at the end .. he couldn't anymore .. he was emotional. I think these lyrics refer to their lives in Eastern Germany - when they were build in, their lives, stone by stone ...

Reportedly actress bette Davis fainted after this performance. It's the main reason Pete lost his hearing

Me and my best mate made this a beer drinking song when drinking 1L German Beer steins. Has an old school pub song vibe.

This video was fron their Reise Reise tour back in 2004, no other band shared the stage. This July they're gonna play Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen 5 nights in a row. ~70,000 people each night

This make me think of someone like Gary Heidnik, which skynd did with Johnathan Davis. Pure torture and r%&e shed. I never heard this song before. The pinch Richard was doing made me think of screaming.

My big four industrial bands would be NIN, Rammstein, Ministry and Skinny Puppy. Most of the bands at the very beginning are really more experimental-noise oriented and pretty obscure. IMO it is important to have at least some push into the public consciousness and, with Skinny Puppy and Ministry, at least some level of influence.

Stone by stone is a political song. Rammstein history started in the east part of Germany in der DDR Punkt this song describes the building of the German wall. The government of East Germany build the wall without windows and doors and nobody can go outside the house
