This song is based on a true story from Germany . A man put an advertisement in a local paper because he wanted a volunteer to be eaten . He got his volunteer and ate him . Theres a lot more to the story but I forget the details , definitely worth looking up
If my understanding of what my friend from Germany was saying. Mein Teil is an older German slang for a certain male body part and the song is basically saying you can eat me but you have to start with "Mein Teil". This is the super basic break down of what the song is about to my understanding.
The keyboard player is Flake Lorenz, and he seems to be always happy to assume the role, cause in real life he is one of the key players of the band. His musical parts become the songs' core features, his decision was to do the music in German instead of English. So, the dude is a back stage legend to behold and respect.
His role is similar to Craig Jones from Slipknot, more passive on stage in terms of the instruments he was playing, but he is the core of the band's musical identity behind the scene.
Flake ( and Richard ) are indeed the main music writers but music is a language of its own. Till writes the lyrics and does so in German because that is the language he thinks in. (Get well soon Till)
Pretty sure the most expensive tickets to Rammstein concerts are like 150-200. Also they always play about 20 songs give or take so it lasts like 2-2,5 hours. So definetly worth it
Rammstein concerts are insane. I went to go see them for the first time in 20 years being a fan. And I even tho I was sitting on the back, you can still feel the heat from all that pyro!
I was once in the first row. I dont know how they breathe on the stage... the heat is something but the fire just burns all the oxygen, I was breathing but I felt I wasnt.
Saw them last year in Gothenburg on Ullevi stadium. Ticket was around $100 and the show was amazing. Around 45 000 people in the crowd. And they also played Mein Teil on that show, and they added one more fireshooting thing, a cannon shooting fire ;) Was the best consert i have been on!
I absolutely love this band! The topics they cover in their songs are fascinating as hell! And so, so much better in German. If they sang in English, the songs wouldn't be the same....
Guys, dig your reaction. I have to say that this band is so RELEVANT today as they were in 1995! Ja. Name one band from America that can pack arenas like Rammstein? Discipline and perfection is what this band is all about.
Ticket prize for a show (Juli 2023 in Netherlands) with their gigantic stadium stage: 100€ Intermissions: As good as not existing, innerhalf of 2 hrs of show there were two intermissions of each maybe 5 minutes. The song "Mein Teil": Based on the real courtcase of Armin Meiwes back in the 2000s. These guys are monsters
I think you guys are finally starting to really understand, why this band sells out within not even hours of their tours being announced. They really are a spectacle to behold. They really give you your moneys worth, and they are also just incredibly talented musicians. 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
They have very quick changes, barely any intermissions. Some songs blend into the next one. The show is definitely worth the price. Did it twice this summer :-D
Nice reaction guys! the Music video is great too. Can't wait for yal to hear Deathstars from patreon request. they were support band for Rammstein wen i saw them, and for Cradle too. im having to retype this- dont know where my other comment went
There is something wrong in the translate, when he gets another flamethrower, the translation says "another one!" But he actually says "BIGGER!" (In french) Greetings from France ❤
Keyboardist is Christian "Flake"(pronunciation is closest to 'Waka') Lorenz and he seems to be always happy to assume the role, since he is actually one of the critical players in the group. His melodies become the songs' core features and it was his decision to use German lyrics. Also gotta get to Seemann, Du Riechst So Gut, and one of my favorites, Links 2 3 4(Official Video)
I have been on 3 shows this year (in Germany and Finnland) and the price for the tickets was resonable arround 90-100 Euros (100-110$). And the show is amazing in every of the 21 Songs they played! Last year I was in Minneapolis and even there the ticket price was 130$ for a seating place. 95$ for standing in the crowd.
This year i had the oportunity to see them live for the first time. I am a fan since the 90's. I have seen a lot of shows, but dude... it was the best concert of my life. If they stop at your country, town or nearby, go see them. It fucking worth it
Saw them live last year in San Antonio. Ive seen many a metal show (Slipknot, Slayer, Motorhead, Rob Zombie to name some of the big ones) and WITHOUT A DOUBT Rammstein was the craziest and best concert I've ever attended. Took the fiance and it was her first metal show. I felt bad afterward because she will never top that first experience.
Rammstein is in a top league on their own. I have seen them 10 times here in Denmark and they never fail to amaze. This years tour was the best ever. You should check out the 2023 live tour
My part or my time, pronounced, as “Tile.” Watch with subtitles long enough and you’ll be surprised how many words are so similar in translation. I remember singing along every word without even knowing what they said lol They very rarely come to the USA and they sell out within hours of being available every time. Keyboardist is Christian Lorenz aka “Flake” 😂
I saw them in Groningen in the Netherlands lately. It was more then fantastic. Their show is jawdropping. Their music fantastic. The underlaying melodies beautifull. 55.000 people gathering and just enjoying themselves in a perfect atmosphere. They are at the top. The amount of attention for detail and the size of what they build on the podium...... flabbergasting. They don't build a show, they build the whole surrealistic city around them. Like a Gotham from Batman. Flames in towers in the audience. Flames over the heads of the audience. Do you know that Till does all the pyrotechnics himself? He was not satisfied by other people so he decided to learn it himself and got his papers. He can do "small" as well. Watch " mein Herz brennt" in the piano version (official video). Buy sleeping pills first. You'll need them afterwards. And the melody in "adieu" is so emotional. I get tears and goosebumps every time I listen to it. The video is Hollywood quality as well. As is the video in "Deutschland". These guys don't fool around. Only perfection is good enough. This is Art with a capital A.
I have seen them live 2 times now and they always played this song. You definitely should see them live whenever you have the chance! (And even if you are in the far back of the crowd, you feel the fire !)
This song is about CANNIBALISM. Yes, I said it. "Mein Teil" is German for "My Part." As in, a BODY PART! ☠️ I hope you get the meaning now. Hence, Rammstein keyboardist Flake Lorenz being grilled to perfection in this now-iconic performance of this track 😆🤟🔥🇩🇪 I saw these guys three times live, easily one of the most prolific metal bands on Earth, easily
And he means ‘my part’ as in the main part that makes you a male. Please eat that particular part first🤮 The true story is so gross but this track is one of my favorites, slamming song!
Rammstein's show is high-end performance! Tickets in Germany cost from around €90 upwards. For 2 hours mega show, mood, sound etc... absolutely ok. You will never forget this experience! Greetings from Berlin, Germany 🤘🤘🤘😎
They only have 1 intermission, which is the encore, the shows are super thought out, Till probably gets dressed while the song is getting started because it just starts like any other song without much of a pause
Someone probably already commented, but the back story for this song is nuts! It's worth checking out just for context sake. Have y'all listened to Aüsslander yet? The official video is fun and might need to be blurred 😉
since you asked what a ticket costs. Rammstein just announced a tour for 2024, the tickets for the famous "Feuerzone" (front of stage) cost 130€ (137$), normal standing places cost 120€ (126$) and seats between 90 and 110€ (95-115$). They are absolutely worth it! To get front of stage you have to be quick though, tickets are usually sold out in seconds.
I saw Rammstein for the first time live in Summer 2022 and it was one of the best concerts i've ever seen of the hundreds of shows I've seen over the years. The show flowed pretty quickly from one song to the next, but for particularly big production songs like this one, Mein Teil, and Deutschland, there were some bigger breaks before they started. Also, this song is definitely about cannibalism, which is actually one of their less controversial song topics.
So many awesome Rammstein songs to listen to. Another great band with a killer show (not as extravagant as Rammstein, but still amazing) is GWAR...Highly recommend checking them out too....the first song by GWAR I suggest is "Slaughterama". That was the first song I heard by them back in like '89 or '90....
This is just a typical Rammstein show. I've followed them since the late 90s, and every live video I've watched is something crazy. The first live video I ever say was Live Aus Berlin, the entire show video, and at one point, Till rose up from under the stage in flames. HE was literally on fire, and he sang half the song while on fire. That was my first introduction to how crazy they can get. I know he had some sort of flame suit on, and the gel, but still, that's some crazy stuff lol.
There was a band about 30/40 years ago called paradise lost. Yes these have moved on with the times but they do sound similar to paradise lost. This song especially has some aspects of a song called embers fire
Till was supposed to play a festival this weekend and he canceled due to illness, so I’m really bummed, but I hope he’s taking care of himself. I’m DEFINITELY gonna catch them if/when they come through Atlanta though!
16:46 The song is based on a real criminal case that took place in Germany about 20 years ago. Two men met over the internet and then met in real life. And then one ate the other. The cannibal from Rotenburg, Armin Meiwes
as Hollywood say this is live performance! Rammstein is unmatchable on it and worth it every penny paying and answer you question the keyboard guy named is Christian Lorenz well knowing as flake.
Saw them live last July in Italy; after the 2nd flamethrower now he pulls out a whole fucking cannon, sits behind it and shoots fire from the other side of the stage to the cauldron.
Seeing them live last year was the coolest damn thing i ever experienced!!!!❤❤😊😊😊 i actually teared up when the show ended... i dont do that... i didnt want it to end! I paid 105$ for a ticket! No regrets at all and i was close enough to see them clearly. Was so awsome!!!!❤❤❤ some tickets were up to 300$!
The Song is about the "Kannibalen von Rotenburg". A guy was looking for someone he can eat and found some guy. "Mein Teil"(my Part) is a word for a special part of a male body (i think you can guess 😅). In the real Story he also ate "his Part".
I hope one day im fast enough to snag a set of tickets before the flood of scalpers buy them all up. They do it with tool here. Last tool show sold out in 7 minutes. Then went back on sale an hour later for 5 times the price. Not even joking. Nose bleeds were the price of rent.
If not for Alice Cooper, then Kiss and even Twisted Sister (in terms of high energy audience inclusive shows) bands like Rammstein might just be up there jamming in jeans and a tee shirt. Who knows? Maybe they'd be the band to start high theatrics in a show (Giving you theater & art). In terms of Pyro though... they have no equal.
Read about Armin Weiwes …the German cannibal, still in prison who thinks he did nothing wrong murdering and eating a man who volunteered to be eaten. More to the story but that’s the awful gist of it.
Notice the crouch cutting, in the real story it`s made over, a dude eat some one, starting with the privet part. Mien Teil. The German true crime case that inspired Rammstein's Mein Teil ua-cam.com/video/JencKhLxF9M/v-deo.html
I'm always amazed that so many American reactors keep making the same mistake with the title, pronouncing "Mein" correctly and not "Teil". "Ei" as correctly pronounced in "Mein" sounds the same in German for all words with "ei".
I've been to several Rammstein shows and there are not a bunch of intermissions nor is there an outfit or theme for every song. If something needs to be prepared for the next song, I'm sure part of their 265 person crew is doing that. They probably also do it smoothly while there's an intro or outro to a song
Rammstein is THE best live performance I've ever seen. Even if I can't understand the language they put on a show to make you understand what it's about. I remember when the actual event that this song is about occurred. It was all over the news, Arwin Meiwes that put in an ad that he wanted to eat another person and got an answer from a guy that wanted to be eaten and also eat himself. It must have been early internetdays, somewhere in the late 90's. I think this guy is still in prison if he is alive. Rammstein has more songs about actual horrible events. The song Rammstein is about the planecrash at the military base in Germany. That is my personal favorite song. I also can recommend a great new song I heard from the Swedish group Hypocrisy(my neighbors 😊), its called Chemical Whore and the video is great. Its about the pharmaceutical industry. //C~🇸🇪
Rammstein is also the name of Germany largest military air base, or more correct, Americas larges air base in Europa. and likely currently centre of operations in Ukraine. And there was a huge crash many years a go at a air show, first time I heard of it. Horrible accident, think a plane hit the crowed, after 2 planes hit each other. The Deadly Ramstein Air Show Disaster ua-cam.com/video/0R6CDDIY2H0/v-deo.html
Thanks for posting this. I was listening to them saying it wrong at the beginning of the video and starting to think there was a typo in the video title. They obviously got there eventually, but the "before" part of these reactions often gets me. 😊
⚡Side Fact⚡: This Song is about Armin Meiwes (born December 1, 1961 in Essen) he is a German Computer technician sentenced to Life imprisonment for Murder and disturbing the Peace of the dead. He became known as the " Cannibal of Rotenburg " for eating parts of his victim's Corpse (Armando Brandes). Greets from the Middle of Germany
Just have a glance at a multicam video for Mein Teil in Coventry, it shows the backstage while the song starts. You'll see the procedure, which is truly "Rammstein style" 🤣 And the funniest thing is, that Rammstein tickets are the cheapest ones to get! They don't suck money from their fans like Metallica, you get the feuerzone ticket for a price of the shittiest seat at Metallica show.
Its the story of the Rotenburg Cannibal....(who went vegan and tried to sue the band later). You need to see the official vid to get the psychology of the story, its amazing
Rammstein: Where does their name come from? What does it mean? Basically, there are two approaches: 1. "Rammstein" is a reference to the 1988 air accident at Ramstein Airbase near Kaiserslautern in Rhineland-Palatinate. During a military air show with more than 300,000 visitors collided. three aerobatic planes in mid-air. They crashed and one crashed burning onto the Pulbikum. The accident claimed 70 lives and injured about 1,000 people. Ramstein Airbase has only one "m" in its name. According to Paul Landers, it should have been an accident that they wrote the name "Rammstein" with two "m". Then the newly formed band used the name "Rammstein" and it stuck. (Why the Rammstein members came up with the name Rammstein in particular remains their secret!) Also, Rammstein originally called themselves "Rammstein Flugschau". Later, the band name was shortened to "Rammstein" because it was easier to say and easier to remember. 2. "Rammstein" takes its name from stones that were used as bollards or doorstops at gateways. These are called "Rammsteine" because they were intended to serve as a protective device. Y’all should listen to any song from their “Sehnsucht” Album but their newer stuff is good as well or what the hell am I sayin… i don’t even think they haven’t released a single bad song yet
Rammstein might also have been influenced by Alice Cooper. His live shows was vaudeville meets horror meets rock music. Alice cuts his head off with a guillotine on stage in Welcome to My Nightmare.
Haha yeah 🖤 The song is called "My Part(slang for d!ck)", as the cannibal and his victim specifically removed, cooked and shared eating the victim's "part" before he died, and the song plays that the two men are arguing over who's "part" it is as they eat it. I've seen it twice live, lemme tell you the front row is HEIß! 🔥
No intermissions just lots of fire and explosions. Flake the keyboardist helps come up with the stunts, he says it keeps him from getting bored. Btw this song has more fire in the live shows now
Hits are not in the Rammstein vocabulary. Radio music is not a thing. But, the fans do the talking with being at concerts and supporting an awesome band, just like Rush fans did. Thankyou Hollywood and Smokey, cheers guys.
I'm a woman and I saw them live 4 times and tickets only 60 EUR if you buy on the first day and later it's around 70 EUR 😂😂😂😂 but in Feuer zone it's around 100 EUR I think ❤🔥🔥🔥🔥Also it's the safest place for a woman, the crowd is amazing and I saw many shows from different genres 🤟😉
It’s really quite simple … if it ends in “e” (ie) it’s pronounced “ee” … if it ends in “i” (ei) it’s pronounced “i (aye)” … example Mein Teil is pronounced like Mine tile.
Here's my small contribution to the song. "Mein Teil" is also german slang for : my 🍆. Which is the proper translation in this case😅. With love love from Germany ❤
Just to kinda help you out with pronunciation, "ei" is pronounced as "eye". So, Rammst"eye"n, M"eye"n, T"eye"l. When its "ie", it's pronounced "ee" like eel, or steel. An easy way to remember is to just say what the following letter is. For example: I after E, say the letter I. E after I, say the letter E
This song is based on a true story from Germany . A man put an advertisement in a local paper because he wanted a volunteer to be eaten . He got his volunteer and ate him . Theres a lot more to the story but I forget the details , definitely worth looking up
Sounds like a documentary I once saw , must be this one then .
Guys name is Armin Meiwes
This advertisement was in a dark web website called the cannibal cafe
If my understanding of what my friend from Germany was saying. Mein Teil is an older German slang for a certain male body part and the song is basically saying you can eat me but you have to start with "Mein Teil". This is the super basic break down of what the song is about to my understanding.

Yes me too! At the LA forum. I believe is was 2011. We were on the seat behind GA. Is a big venue and we could feel the heat. It was awesome!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
Armin Meiwes is known as The German Cannibal that the song is about....
Till: "I'm in a band."
"Cool. What instrument do you play?"
Till: "Fire!"
Easily one of their most iconic performances ever!

Oneof the most entertaining shows you will ever see even though you can't understand what they are saying...fire.
When they played at the Alamodome last year they set the roof of the stadium on fire.
There are no intermissions between songs. They have a great crew and the whole live show is one well oiled machine. Everything is timed to a T.

as Hollywood say this is live performance!
They joined Marylin Manson on his The Beautiful People..Awesome!🤘
Since this show his flame throwers for this song have gotten even bigger that now its a cannon it's insane.
I love your reactions
Greetsiel from Germany
If not for Alice Cooper, then Kiss and even Twisted Sister (in terms of high energy audience inclusive shows) bands like Rammstein might just be up there jamming in jeans and a tee shirt. Who knows? Maybe they'd be the band to start high theatrics in a show (Giving you theater & art). In terms of Pyro though... they have no equal.
That performance made me hungry lol
Read about Armin Weiwes …the German cannibal, still in prison who thinks he did nothing wrong murdering and eating a man who volunteered to be eaten. More to the story but that’s the awful gist of it.
Notice the crouch cutting, in the real story it`s made over, a dude eat some one, starting with the privet part. Mien Teil.
The German true crime case that inspired Rammstein's Mein Teil

I'm always amazed that so many American reactors keep making the same mistake with the title, pronouncing "Mein" correctly and not "Teil". "Ei" as correctly pronounced in "Mein" sounds the same in German for all words with "ei".
I've been to several Rammstein shows and there are not a bunch of intermissions nor is there an outfit or theme for every song. If something needs to be prepared for the next song, I'm sure part of their 265 person crew is doing that. They probably also do it smoothly while there's an intro or outro to a song
The Keyborder is Flake Lorenz!
Tickets are north of 200 $ in Europe. Dont know how much it will be in the US.
//C~🇸🇪

Tip: In German (auf Deutsch) "ei" is pronounced EYE, while "ie" is pronounced EE
Thanks for posting this. I was listening to them saying it wrong at the beginning of the video and starting to think there was a typo in the video title. They obviously got there eventually, but the "before" part of these reactions often gets me. 😊
I saw Rammstein live like 6 weeks ago. Am over 50 and been to tons of live shows. NOTHING is like Rammstein. Not even close.
You'll see the procedure, which is truly "Rammstein style" 🤣
And the funniest thing is, that Rammstein tickets are the cheapest ones to get! They don't suck money from their fans like Metallica, you get the feuerzone ticket for a price of the shittiest seat at Metallica show.
"Don't set him on fire!"
Till: "How bout I do anyway?"
Its the story of the Rotenburg Cannibal....(who went vegan and tried to sue the band later). You need to see the official vid to get the psychology of the story, its amazing
The amount of trust between Till and Flake is insane. How many people do you know that you would let shoot fire at you?
Check out the song Sonne by them, the official video.
I felt the heat in nose bleed seats when I saw them
Rammstein: Where does their name come from? What does it mean?
Basically, there are two approaches:
(Why the Rammstein members came up with the name Rammstein in particular remains their secret!)
Also, Rammstein originally called themselves "Rammstein Flugschau". Later, the band name was shortened to "Rammstein" because it was easier to say and easier to remember.
2. "Rammstein" takes its name from stones that were used as bollards or doorstops at gateways. These are called "Rammsteine" because they were intended to serve as a protective device.

In the auditions, when Till shoot multiple times to the pot, Flake burned his fingertips badly when he is leaving the pot. It was REALLY HOT.

Y’all should listen to any song from their “Sehnsucht” Album but their newer stuff is good as well or what the hell am I sayin… i don’t even think they haven’t released a single bad song yet
Never. Break. Kayfabe.
True story is this song about...!
These men are very crazy!!!! I would like to see the reaction to ''buck dich'' live, it's one of the most bizarre and fun things the band did
That's for advanced hardcore fans only :-D
It’s really quite simple … if it ends in “e” (ie) it’s pronounced “ee” … if it ends in “i” (ei) it’s pronounced “i (aye)” … example Mein Teil is pronounced like Mine tile.
My suggestion from Rammstein: 'Dicke Titten', relatively new song, I think 2022.😉
Here's my small contribution to the song. "Mein Teil" is also german slang for : my 🍆. Which is the proper translation in this case😅.
With love love from Germany ❤
The (true) story behind the song is so horrifying.
Art.
