In this video I reflect on Google announcing the new Nest Cams and how that announcement led me to creating an Apple HomeKit Secure Video feature wishlist.

So we could actually add unlimited cameras to Homekit but can only use 5 camera with Homekit Secure Videos (with 2TB iCloud Storage plan) Is this correct?

With iOS 15 & TVOS 15, you’ll be able to have unlimited cameras in HomeKit Secure Video as well. You just need that 2TB storage plan. The camera limit will be gone completely. That storage plan will be rebranded as “iCloud+”.
@@GeorgeLangabeer I have just installed 4 units of Eufy Cam 2 Pro and noticed that Eufy limits only 4 camera that can be added to Homekit. Because of this I am now planning to buy additional camera from Aqara so that I can view all my cameras in Homekit.
Is there any way that I can do to add more than 4 cameras from Eufy to my Homekit?
That 4 camera HomeKit limit is a Eufy thing. I don’t know why they do that. But if you get the Eufy cameras that convert to HomeKit Secure video, there shouldn’t be a limit once iOS 15 is released.
Hello, so would you recommend the new nest cam indoor wired over the Logitech circle view ? I can get 2 nest wired for the price of one Logitech. Also I like how the nest is 2.4 & 5 WiFi capable vs just 2.4.
I have had the circle view for 3 weeks had have had many issues with offline and online because I refuse to split my wife into two channels 😂.
I guess I should also ask what your thoughts are on switching to a Reolink Poe setup. I know. I can do 24/7 recording and setup within HomeKit as well.
I’d go with Nest using the Starling, over the Logitech. Reolink over both. Wired POE is always best. But don’t go low end Reolink. They are junk. You have to go with their higher end stuff to make it worth it.
Okay I’m going to roll with the Reolink 822A Poe inside and duo 2 Poe outside. Can a poe system be jammed in any way ? I wouldn’t think so between the camera and the nvr or between the nvr and router since it’s all hardwired.
But can someone cut my viewing capability out between the router and the Reolink app or between router and apple Home app?
If you have it connected to the internet, anything is possible. A cheap system like Reolink is much more open to hacking than something like Alibi (my preferred brand). You get what you pay for with those systems & your security is not Reolink’s priority.
Both of those cameras are very cheaply made.
Apple needs to bring back the apple airport time capsule. so you can keep your data for 24/7
I miss it too!
