I do think this is the most beautiful version of this song. Nick Cave can deliver emotion on a level not many others can. No show, no unnecessary vocal hooks. Just Cave's imperfect, emotional singing. 5/5
in this year 2017, when you see someone you love losing themselves, god, just glad to be alive, a song like this just helps, just helps. Mr. Cave personalized a song that was meant to be universal. thank you, god bless y'all!
Just... great. Un-adorned arrangement and styling that lets the song(writing) shine through. I think that has always been a noble strength of the Brave and Good Knight Nick Cave. It's not his excesses, which are well known; but rather the restraint he applies, at just the right times in his musical performances. That's what makes him so good at what he does. Much respect.
FYI Paul McCartney wrote this song in regards to the passing of his mother. He grieved for months after she passed. She appeared in one of his dreams and he stated the she had said ……. Everything is going to be ok, just let it be...…………….
Good cover of a great song that reminds me of the greatness of the original. Cave does a more original version of Pulp's Disco 2000. Totally makes it his own song.
Anyway that's the reason why I started listening to the Beatles. Before Nick they were for me a kind of old folk stuff nobody is listening to. Stupid me!
I'd like to point out that The Beatles' released version was essentially castrated by Phil Spector. Check out the Naked version for a better idea of what it should've been. Even still, Cave's cover was worthwhile, as someone said. Vastly different styles at work, and to deny the genius of either is to be close-minded or hard-at-hearing (and the latter is being polite, blaming the problem on some physical issue rather than on what almost surely would be a core character flaw!
With the exception of Cohen's 'Suzanne', Cave, like Nina Simone and Johnny Cash sings other peoples songs far better than the original performer. He should do Achey Breaky Heart I reckon.
Bit heavy on the backup vocals. But, all in all I agree. He has an artists' feel. (Does that make sense at all?) of course, this song would not exist at all without the original authors.
Sin duda en gustos se rompen géneros, mi mayor respeto a todos aquellos a quienes les ha gustado esta versión. Para mí, no obstante, acribillo la magnífica Let it be, convirtiéndola en algo insípido e insufrible.
@karenchristine9 Hate them? Wow! They must have done something pretty bad to you! I take it you don't like their music either, right? Anyway I'm curious what causes you to actually hate them.
Far better than the original, I also thought the Joan Baez version was better, cause the even though The Beatles wrote some really great songs the are still over-rated and kinda boring
@karenchristine9 Well, congratulations. You have got your bit of fame by writing this "masterpiece" .You should be proud. Or not... Sure you must be a sad person. Let it be...
eww. i totally think that the one on across the universe is a lot better. i think it is sung with more heart. more emotion. and more thought. i love when the black lady like yells it " let it be yeah yeah"
This is insane. A cover which does the song justice. THIS song. Nick Cave nails it.

Heard this version just for the first time. Awesome, oustanding, great! As much as his version of "Helpless".

I'm impressed I've never heard of this cover version before., the religious imagery in the lyrics suits Cave very well! Thank you for posting it
Finally I can enjoy a Beatles' song!!! How good is Nick Cave that he makes this things sound awesome and serious!!!
Beatles, love or hate, are the greatest bit of musical innovation for the last 68 years
So fuck you and I know this is Lennon solo he counts

Brilliant voice and he sings it meaningful
Shit ya kate
I can honestly say that Nick's version, to me, is delivered with more sincerity, intimacy and weight than the Beatles version.
Two loves of my life combined
全世界翻唱最多的名曲之一,但這位 尼克老兄確實有兩把刷子,頹廢感覺更勝原唱,值得聆聽與收藏!

Yeah, you and me both (:

Nick Cave's rendition of Suzanne is equal to Cohen's.
Not better than the orginal, but extremely awesome. Miss george's guitar more than anything else.
NO-ONE except Lohn Lennon and McCartney should this song. And Nick Cave.
Just listen...
Thares no turning back
Maybe a glimpse
