The only down fall about placing your miners on top of the ore is that they only reach half way down. Your going to be moving them down as they dig down.
The better way is dig out the ore, find the horizontal middle, build a square ring around the horizontal middle 3 foundations wide. Place 4 miners, 1 on each side and connect them with mergers. You will never have to move your miners ever again. You'll have max mining.

Ohhhhh I like that! It's a bit more work initially for sure, but never having to move them again is a nice bonus for that work!

@TheDutchActuary If your hand digging then ya longer setup. Once you get explosives it's a couple minutes. It's also easy upgradable. Belts mergers miners.
Question, Do you know if there is a certain distance that liquid in a pipe can travel or is it unlimited both vertical and horizontal?

@@ValiousTV The liquid slows down as the distance increases, which is what you need pumps for. However, i'm not entirely sure how far that is, as the game currently does not have an easy way to tell (that I found anyway)

@@TheDutchActuary would be nice to use ship transport for liquids. Might be a little hard trying to get fracking liquid to fracking towers.

@@ValiousTV Definitely, ships not transporting liquids is not only annoying, I also don't really understand why that's not implemented yet.

For boilers, u can put all boiler next to each other with 1 block gap, and link them with a pipe in between them with water. Water can flow through the boilers freely, so no need to make spaghetti. I found that way is a bit cleaner.

Nice Restart! Leaving plenty of space between sections is always a good idea. But I always fail to keep this simple principle in mind, regardless which factory game I am playing :D
I kinda solved this problem for me by using 3D, i established a higher up layer of foundations and restarted there, simply disconnecting the "old" factory below from all inputs.

Nice video, next video you might want to lower the volume of the machines, could hardly hear you over them, great job though :)

Thanks for the feedback! The sound is a bit weird in this game to get right as it scales up MASSIVELY if you get closer to machines, so will look into it some more!

Traumatized flashbacks to trying to tear down a 300-hour Dyson Sphere Program game to “rescue” it.
    Yeah, restarting is far better!

it's obviously me but optimising this game is pointless. Hours invested tells me you will be making yet another pointless 'optimise video'. Its that kinda game. but it's a really good one.
