    Terrific video and impressive riding and scenery. The GW DCT sure can get the job done.

    Wonderful video. You are a clam rider who enjoys the day of riding. Our wings can go to the moon and back, no issue. It's surly a work horse. The DCT for a place like that is superb.

      Thanks AI! They say it’s all about the journey.. the Goldwing brings you peace of mind as soon as you kick back the kickstand. Glad you enjoyed the video.

    I put thousands of miles at those altitudes, on my 1983 Yamaha Venture Royal, carbureted, with minimal issues back in the 80’s. I miss the Rockies.

    Loved it . I own a 2018 dct and will not think about going back to a manual shift or any other bike . 11years ago rode on my Valkyrie in Montana and Canada and been wanting to do it on my goldwing asap

    MHA! That’s Adventure bike territory and the Wing handled it like a champ. Absolutely beautiful footage as always. I know exactly where Mt Evans is. There’s a yearly bicycle race to the top. The fastest time wins. One rider at a time. Saw some cyclists on your way up. Altitude is thin air with less O2 for oxygenating working muscles. That’s a fact. The Wing sounds great. And that’s what I love about the Wing. You don’t hear it. Looks like the altitude had no affect on the engine. You’re right, bike geometry is great, not breaking traction with a steady throttle and brake application according road constitutions gets you safely through a ride. Nice job out there. Next up the Pike’s Peak trip. Ride safe and ride often. ATGATT.

      Thanks Mr Glide! Glad you enjoyed the video.. I thought I was going to bounce Mrs High off and into Summit Lake.. That area was worse then usual in my opinion and the Wing handled it with no problems.. we had so much fun and it was surprisingly empty for 4th of July weekend.. Happy 4th to you and yours!

    I've taken mid sized scooters, my CTX700 up there. I havent' taken the rebel 1100 up yet, but I can't wait. A goldwing is my fantasy bike, and I am determined to own one at some point. It's just so darn smooth (and should be for the same price as an Accord).

    Great views..thanks! Really starting to wish my '21 Goldwing was also a DCT .. really missed it on yesterday's ride though a bunch of small towns (get tired of freeway riding) .. also needed the walking speed forward/reverse yesterday too when I parked uphill in a crowded lot at my favorite restaurant/bar. Base model manual does not have that feature.

    Nice video, the views were like beautiful paintings, the mountains the clouds in the background. I myself own a Goldwing Wing manual transmission , it seems that the DCT also do is works aswell . I might also switch from manual versie to DCT someday. Thanks for this video, great job. ✌

    Amazing video
    writing the very same bike here on the West Coast of Florida of course is a different experience
    though I have actually been on that road before on an older BMW
    going up that mountain is one thing but coming down is another
    anxious to hear how the DCT did on the way down
    because with the weight of that bike even though six piston calipers won't be able to save your life going down that mountain without the transmission two-up with luggage
    I'd love to hear about break feet on the way down because you and I know going down those mountains is infinitely more scary than going up
    I appreciate your channel very much
    the very best to you and your family, always

    Awesome Video!!! I greatly appreciate your effort in making this. As a flat land rider, those switchbacks give me that uneasy feeling. I know theres a nasty switchback between Alma and Breckenridge. Im curious how the DCT behaved on the descent? Did you manual mode it or let it do its thing?

    • @MileHighAdventures
      @MileHighAdventures  2 роки тому +6

      Hey KBAC! I just coasted down like a big kid on a playground slide.. the DCT provided more than enough engine breaking to manage the decent.. I may put a short vid together to show that point.. it was a great ride! Thanks for the feedback and ride safe!

    • @MileHighAdventures
      @MileHighAdventures  2 роки тому

      Hey Peter! Here is what I would do with 5 days depending on weather.. Mount Evans (via Morrison and Squaw Pass).. Pikes Peak.. Peak to Peak Highway (Blackhawk to Estes Park)… Trail Ridge Road (Rocky MTN National Park) and Guanella Pass (Georgetown to Grant)

    I thought I subscribed to you last year when I bought my bike but I guess not. I am now. How has your wife been on the back with wind buffeting? Mine was complaining about it last summer and that it was quite a bit worse than my Street Glide the way I had it set up. I just bought a new windshield 2" higher and about 5" wider to see if it helps her. I was fine on the bike the way it was stock, my helmet was rock solid with no bouncing around at all.

      Amazing views, great information and I love hearing the DCT shift!! You’ve got a great channel and I’m definitely subscribing, but I agree with the comment about the music… It sounds like the stoned version of the Country Bear Jamboree… it doesn’t add anything. The bike and your commentary are all you need. You’re video more than any other so far may have sold me on the DCT. I currently ride a 2020 Roadglide Limited with a stage 2 and a 2010 Goldwing. Looks like it may be time for a DCT upgrade!! Thanks for your time and the great info!!
