Good video. This Alternator fits from 1990 to 1997 Honda Accord. To put it on the 98-2002 agreement you just have to change the cover of the voltage regulator with everything and regulator because the connector is different from that of accord 98. Yesterday I went to buy an alternator for my 1999 2.3 accord and they sold me a 2.2 94-97 accord alternator and they changed the parts of the lid and the regulator due to the connector. But both alternators are 80A.
Can anyone answer me why a voltage regulator costs the same if not more than a whole alternator? Ive looked all over the internet and the cheapest one is autozone for $80 while a brand new alternator is $100
There is nothing you will learn from here, but how to dismantle and assemble all alternator components, especially the voltage regulator side. Normally when an alternator fail. The only thing to replace are the Voltage regulator and if u can't find any replacement. Either you buy a new alternator or assemble a voltage regulator yourself..This is not a beginner course of course. Voltage regulator for cars are more complex than Voltage regulator of a motorcycle due to field winding on car alternators. I myself is trying to fix my alternator side on my CIVIC EK since the output only delivers 13.6 v even when revving the engine way past 2000. It should read 14.6 even when all of your headlight, aircon, radio, are turned ON, mine is dropping to 12volts nearly when I do that so I know i Have a failed REGULATOR already. For me, buying a new alternator wherein the Voltage regulator is the only seriously damage is a waste of money since my Alternator Windings are good. Hence I am trying to build a regulator instead.
RCrazeE Did you have any luck? There are denso voltage regulators on ebay for good prices, I’m wondering if just replacing the brush and regulator will solve a low voltage problem
@@onseki1774 unfortunately. I was so stupid running my car with a failed alternator for 50kms that during the trip, my battery indicator was always lit, and when I arrived to my destination and dismantled the alternator for repair. I made it worse, smoking the Rotor. Visible on the coil winding that should have light brown color enameled wire instead of almost black color rotor, and ended replacing the whole alternator. And the thing about the CIVIC lxi alternator was. It has a built in regulator, and replacing just that is not possible. Sorry for waiting.
@@HoangTran-ge5eg hello again, the reason why I did asked t you is just because I really need to know if I can install 1992 honda prelude alternator in a honda prelude 3g 2.0 ex 1990?
Great video for how to remove and install screws! I really learned a lot today!

Thank you.
Well, Today I learned how to unscrew the screws. That's fun.
🤣
I like the fact that you dont talk, you just do it. lets see the bearing repair now.

@@HoangTran-ge5eg diodes repair please, have issue with mine on Honda pilot, denso alternator
Life saver! Thank you! I just need to change where the harness gets plug! 👏🏼
Looks like he just replaced the brushes and voltage regulator, or showed how to replace them.
Are you disassembled your new alternator
unscrew and screw back means repair and rebuild??
Thank you for posting
Brushes are the easiest. Let’s do front and rear bearings. Press and pull and being careful of delicate electric connections.
so you not going to show how to replace the fucking bearings? you didnt show the other half of the disassembly, nice spinning skills though

Because you haven’t really searched all over the internet. Autozone isn’t the internet. Come on man. Ebay
how do you replace the bearings??
That easy just remove and replace them that’s thank.
Assembly is like $162 OEM. Just the Brushes are $15.........so how do you change JUST the brushes?........Z
And the ball bearing ?

As everyone has said; explain what you are doing and how it actually is rebuilding the alternator
No repairing or rebuilding in this video. WTH?
That's mean the 1990 prelude alternators both of them are same, wt the 1992 honda prelude alternator ? 🙄
Yes it is thank

They are the same part from 1990 - 1992 thanks
Yes thanks
How to replace brush?
That was the assembly around the mainshaft. Carbon brushes in a holder assembly.
I learned to throw the screws everywhere here.
don't waste your time....nothing to learn here
No kidding
WTH! what’s rebuilt? re/re screws are not doing help the alternator problem , get the facts please.

This was a waste of time…
USELESS,
uhmm....utterly useless...
