Frank Lovejoy does a great job in this episode as was always the case. We lost Frank Lovejoy way too soon. "NIGHTBEAT" was one of the best detective shows of the last days during the Golden Age of Radio in which he played the lead role. He was truly a great talent both in radio, television and film. Frank Lovejoy was married to Joan Banks another one of the great radio actors heard often in many radio shows, oftentimes heard together in the same show. Does anyone recognize the actor who plays the part of Mr. Hargrove in this episode? I recognize the voice from many other shows but can't determine who he is.
@@melbea03 Harry Bartell certainly did many radio shows and this very well could be him. It is amazing how so many of these actors could change their voices to meet the part they were playing.

I had forgotten about Nightbeat. You're correct,. It was good. Used to be on KNX drama hour during the 80's and 90's.
The announcer is Paul Frees. Voice of Boris Badenov/Ludvig Von Drake, among many others.
