- Today, we’ve managed to book, without exaggeration, the world’s foremost expert on memory and memory training: Harry Lorayne. He’s a living legend. Since the late 1950’s, he has sold over 17 MILLION copies of over 40 books on memory and magic. He’s been on every major television show you can imagine at least once - and generally starts off by memorizing the names of everyone in the up to 1500 person audience. He’s been in Forbes, coached a long list of Fortune 500 companies and their executives… Honestly, there’s no way I can possible do justice by just listing off his many accomplishments.

This interview might just be our biggest and most important yet. There’s so much value here, I don’t even know where to start. At 89 years old, Harry Lorayne pulls no punches and makes no apologies. He shares heartbreaking stories of physical abuse and overcoming dyslexia, but also some incredibly inspiring tales of how he became the world’s most respected authority on memory… which, by the way, he did with nothing more than a middle school education.

I never heard of this guy before but I'm putting 3 of his books on my wish list. I have to learn more after that.
It would of been good to go into why he thinks the loci method is outdated. Awesome guy and congratulations on having the interview.
He was 90 at that time,and he was pretty cool even in his old age....! Interestingly,Mr Harry talks very fast indicating that he is thinking in images during his talks!
It's pretty fascinating to get to listen to Harry Lorayne in person. I've read several of his books, and I enjoyed hearing his story. It's inspiring to hear someone who is so much older who still has such a good memory, I want to have an unusually good memory as I get older, and he is a wonderful example of someone who has successfully done that throughout his life. Most people who are working on improving their lives you listen to or read about today are younger people. I enjoyed this interview.

Most of them are on Amazon. Some are out of print, but there are plenty of ones from the 80's and 90's, if you do a search for him and add Memory Power you should find his complete package that came out. It's expensive at 160 or so. To be honest most of the books are very similar and they all teach the key concepts. So the Super Student Super Memory I think it is, is a great alternative on amazon that you can buy used for a few dollars.
