For everyone watching this, we lost a legend today. Joe Bonsall the Tenor of the Oakridge Boys passed away from ALS. For those who don't know them, they are one of the groups that inspired Home Free.
Tim just showing off a little bit of his 5 octaves for ya! Tim and Chance killed it but I loved the part where the other members are making looks at Tim for his high notes, especially Adam! So much fun! Tim has a lot of fun with the audience when doing this live. There are videos of this and boy does he go low at the end! 😍
The bit where Tim goes high and gets a bunch of side-eye is shorthand for the usual live routine, where he starts going nuts and Rob's like "Hey, hey, hey! This is a bass solo, right? And you were doing just fine down there, sounding real good, but now you're getting up into our territory [gestures at Austin]. So if you could get back to the bass stuff, that would be great." Austin comes over and stamps on the floor and points at it, and Tim's like "okay" and does a gradual slide up from the bottom of his range, which dare I say is a bit on the low side (he's been strictly prohibited from performing anywhere near the San Andreas Fault). My favorite performance is some kind of outdoor show where the bass speaker is clearly like "okay, I'm out of here, this was *not* in the job description" about halfway through. Great stuff.
Rupp's effect there is basically a washboard.
On Rupp'sinstrument - close. He is imitating a rasp. Really a washboard is a sort of rasp.They can be made in all sizes. The usual instrument is a piece of wood with a series of indents cut across it, sort of like the bumps on the road edge to warn you you are going out of the lane. The player strokes a pencil-sized stick across the grooves, causing a sound remarkably like what Rupp did.
Home Free Concert Morrison, IL 8/19/15 One of funniest concerts. Tim blows out sound system. it was actually a Fair and where they set up their sound system shared a generator with the Ferris Wheel and some others Tim tripped the power breakers which took down the speakers and loss of power to everything connected to that portion of the system. worth watching the whole show but at least this portion of it you get to see a slightly mollified Tim after kind of hiding by the speaker stack
This is a song that Tim is famous for blowing out speakers with for years. I think he could still do it today. I love the look on Austin's face when Tim hit those high notes. Wow! Those silky sounds coming from Chance really added something special to the song too.

1st video, but a Live show staple for a long damn time and it's always been funny with the guys having plenty of comedic moments over the years.
This has always been Tim's song, showing his great range. It's nice that in this new version they gave Chance a verse too.
They all shine in this but Tim and Chance are outstanding.

Chance does f all in this performance except people thinking "where's Tim???" I love chance but this song is not in his timbre... Tim is Tim and Chance sounds like toddler trying to be him... There are plenty of tracks where they can show off Chanse as the barytone/bass he is, and his amazing sound - but this is a fail... Obviously that's only my personal opinion
It's a Josh Turner song. He's a bass country singer. So it was practically designed for Chance and Tim as both have voices that work very well with country music, and both sing bass.

This is a song that Tim's broken the sound system on before.
This video is about the 7th video on YT for this song. The first one, from February of 2014, has the guys reacting much the same as here to Tim's change of key, giving each other side eyes. It's titled Your Man (Live) even though it's not with an audience. All the other you'll find in a search are live shows and they really ham it up, especially in Rob and Austin's reactions to Tim, and Tim's response. Those five videos are great but my favorite with always be the one Tim if notorious for. It's part of a half-hour Home Free Concert Morrison, IL 8/19/15. The whole video is great but the short photo op right before Your Man is at about the 6:45 mark and is a good place to start a reaction. And do be ready for the bass note in the live ones.
That was such a great remake of this song! Nice to hear Chance singing some of the lines. Always loved Tim's crazy low notes along with his fabulous highs. Also love Adam's cool percussion sounds in this version too.
There are some older live versions of this song that are very funny.

This is great but my all-time favourite rendition of their's is a live performance titled "Home Free - Your man live in Georgia radio interview" and is on Daniel Madsen's UA-cam channel. It can also be accessed from Home Free's Facebook page. It is part of an interview with them and shows how wonderful they sound just sitting around singing.

There is a reason that when they're live and introducing the looper, Tim says "Chance, just sit there and smolder."
I like this version better than the first version of Home Free, although I loved that one too! But Chance brings so much more value to this for me. The combination of Tim and Chance is simply amazing! Oh and of course the background vocals and beatboxing are what really complete it
Tim's "dragon breath" bass is bone melting! But then he also gave us some Frankie Vallee highs as well! Is there anything this man can't sing and make it better?! This is a good illustration of how unselfish these guys are. Before Chance, this was a pure Tim showcase. I think giving Chamce a section makes it even more interesting. You should definitely look at the Josh Turner original - followed by his own remake.
I love this version of this song...damn, this was amazing. Tim may have looked slightly demonic in the video but his voice was freaking ANGELIC and I am absolutely loving pairing him with Chance...there is something so lovely about hearing two different timbres of bass voice in the same song, especially a song that is a mainstay in the bass community like this one...

Did you catch Austin kind of rolling his eyes and then Adam doing the cricket chirping when Tim goes off on the falsetto run? I hadn't caught it the first time I heard it but had to start laughing when I did. If you go back and look for when Chris was still with the group and they're doing it live, you'll find something similar to that. Get ready for the laughter on that one
The sound adam was making is from castanets, its used a lot by spanish dancers.

They used to do this song at their concerts there are a lot of of fan cam videos on UA-cam it was a hilarious version.There has never been an official video for this song
I was surprised they hadn’t done this one before. I thought pretty much every group with a quality bass singer would have done a cover pretty much right after the song was released in 2005. Anyway, happy to hear it, and happier still to hear it sung by TWO such amazing bass singers.
Adam's percussion is so perfect, more like the real instruments than the real instruments!! So nice soundscape!!
According to The History of Home Free, this was the second song HF sang for their The Sing-Off audition. (The first was Life Is A Highway, originally a rock tune until the country band Rascal Flats sang it for the film Cars.) HF wanted to showcase Tim's voice. After this song, the woman listening to the audition thought that HF should style themselves as a ~country~ a capella group. Aannnd the rest is history.

They have a previous studio version of this from years ago, but no music video. Just audio. Plus, as other people said, lots of live versions with Tim vs speakers. XD I admit that the first time I heard this version I didn't like Chance coming in, because I'm so used to it as a Tim song, but the new version is growing on me.

They've performed this song at least ever since the Sing Off, so this isn't a new song for them (though in the past the lead was only Tims, it's a nice change of the ususally routine to give Chance a part), but they never had a proper video for it. They are very practiced with this one. In theory. Austin and Rupp had still problems filming their parts, though.

Josh Turner had his first #1 hit with this song, written by Chris Stapleton. My favorite Josh performance of it is a live duet with Randy Travis. VoicePlay also released a short version with Geoff singing lead.
The HF guys used to have fun with this one at concerts. Maybe they'll do the bit again live with the new recording, with Chance instead of Chris Rupp, and Adam Bastien in place of Austin.

"Your Man" "Would You Go WIth Me" and "Long Black Train" are some of his bigger hits. Great reaction. I've heard them do this before, but I think this is a new arrangement. You should see the live version of this.
