  • 116kmh gps topspeed, reving 7600rev now = +1000revs! & same fuel consumption! OPTIMIZING the original px 200 cylinder with 1 real and 2 closed fake ports is fun as there is quite some potential hidden. this LIGHT version is simple: just porting WITHOUT cylinder timings measuring & calculation! so no worries ;o) its easy peasy! check the pics and copy it, you will be amazed, trust me.

    - primare screw nut

"..bikes running well 0-80 is much much faster and smoother and CHT is cooler by 10-15c which is good. "
    "6.5 l/100 wot, 5.5 medium/fast, 4.5 medium/slow, No leaks etc"
    4000km (190712)
"engine is running like a top 😎, a good job it’s much nicer to ride than original and a lot easier to keep in tune too."
    6500km (190724)
"..it’s running well, flywheel has now slight movement, but very, very slight. This is at 6500km since rebuild now.."
    9000km (190730)
"At 51,000 total now and engine is same, no issues at all. still much easier to keep in tune than the stock set up. I think the stock engine is inefficient so it masks the jetting a bit. Sure really lean or rich is obvious but it’s hard to tell difference on hot of cold days or when there are small changes.
With the o tuning I can set the jetting/mixture perfect on 30 degree day and leave it run a bit Rich (got down to 0) when it gets colder and not touch it at all! It’s just more obvious what the engine is doing now.
Really haven’t touched it much for the last 5,000km. Which is nice."
    17.000km (1911) in africa:
    116 gps top speed
"revs up to 7600 (original only 6600)
    same fuel consumption
    way more sensitive to jetting
needs 5 sizes smaller mj in higher attitude than stock engine"
    after 40.000km (2021) review:
"revs much smoother, easier and faster.
Top speed reached faster, there is an extra 1,000 USABLE rpm. O tuned engine I shift at 6500 easy. Original at 5500 or it’s too strained.
O tuned u can sit in third at 6500 all day up steep hills etc.
engine also will over rev to 7600 no worries.
original is strained at 6500 - big difference for downhill overtaking ;)
    Fuel consumption is the same:
4.5l at best (around town, low speed etc)
5.5l normal (village, 2nd roads etc)
6.5l flogging it hard (flat out-whole tank)
this is for 2 up with 35kg gear (165kg total)"

So after watching your videos I have now done the 24/24 carb everything u suggested, carb case too and moving onto stock cylinder porting and piston. Thanks a lot for all the videos.

Following your guide I've got 74mph out of my bike. I switched to a Polini Box from Simonini and it's much better, more torque, power, and far quieter. I'm running the original piston (2.5mm rings), an si24 (drilled main jet bore to 2.5mm), and a sip fast flow tap. Cheers

Thx nathan for the info. yep, all these old exhausts are outdated and modern boxes by far, way better.
      people still. Dont believe that

Did you start with the 12 hp cylinder with the raised port timing or a stock timing cylinder?

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  5 років тому

Standard 200cc 12hp cylinder. No timings changed.

Have you ever opened up the 'fake transfer ports' on a stock p200 cylinder? I was looking at your explanation in another video and got to thinking about it...made me curious. Also, how much do you think a mild tune like this would benefit (or not) from some degree of variable ignition timing? Basically everything you did in this video is *free* so just trying to see if you can justify the $$$ it would cost. Thanks!!

Also, I'm a little confused on your exhaust calculations. Standard bore on a p200 is 66.5mm. Your measurements of 40 (56.6%) and 42.8 (60%) are giving me bores of 70.67 and 71.3 respectively...where am I going wrong?

Everything brings power, step by step, i would do: 1) cyl timings 2) intake timings 3) exhaust porting 4) good cyl head 5) opening transfer ports
but only up to a certain limit of course as the port area/size is small and the cyl in general an old tractor cyl 😉

Same applies for pinasco as its a alu copy of the original cyl and also has only 1 real port

the 1port original and pinasco cyl compared to a real tuning cyl with 3 real ports, clearlly smaller port areas = only limited power achievable

@@FreakMoPed8 thanks anyway! And is it mandatory to increase the intake from carburator and also cut about 2mm of the crankshaft? I have the engine already close and don't know if I run the risk of blowing up the engine without giving the "right" flow of fuel to the cylinde and piston....thanks in advance man, so much appreciated!
