And you think it's funny ? It's easier to live with the fact that you've been fired than waking up every day knowing that you've caused 900 people to lose their jobs.
There's no right way to fire 900 persons, but at least he fired the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion recruiting team, and he did it personally.

@@alainportant6412 Yeah, So very difficult to Fire people! Actually you are right, its more difficult to fire people than actually getting fired! He must have "cried" and lost his sleep for lifetime! By firing people, his holidays would have completely spoiled thinking about the families of employees who were fired! He would have went into such tremendous stress thinking these fired employees would look for another job, as they have a family to feed!
I actually dont have any issues with any of the above. I have a problem with what he said was in such cold tone that it hardly felt like he was upset and would cry. Thats my opinion and i have a right to it. Thanks.

My bf was really sick for a week or so and then returned to work. He worked online but sometimes they asked him to be on site. So he got a message to come on site, he travelled there for 3hrs with laptop and everything, sat down to work -everyone greeted him well, only for his mamager to call him after 5 minutes and fire him on spot.
They made him travel for 3hrs only to tell that to him.

I got fired a couple years ago in a similar way. My father had a stroke and they weren't sure if he would survive at the time so naturally I took a few days off and stayed at the hospital. Every day the owner was bugging me about when I would be back. My dad started to improve on the 3rd of 4th day so I returned to work. He showed up a few hours before the end of my shift on the 4th or 5th night after I returned to work and had me finish out my shift and then fired me when I closed the store. Fuck people like that.

But when a employer fires , they do it without any notice , why is this injustice?
Why isnt the government coming up with laws to arrest or atleast fine those companies heavily who does immediate firing without a period notice..Such corporate bosses must be jailed with longer jailtimes and be fined heavily, coz ur not firing only a employee, ur messing the structure of a family, ur disabling the family of paying the bills, promises made to their kids, rents, bills, future trips, EMI's etc..

Laying off 15% of your workforce is something that happens, yes. But you would have individual managers meet with their teams and fire people individually, like every other company. Firing 900 people over a zoom call is a laughably terrible approach. It's really just about how they approached the layoff that is so newsworthy.

Any employee in America would be fired for the same. Just so happens, at this company, 15% or 900, of the employees were doing the same. One employee probably figured out that they could clock-in for the full 8 hours but only antisocial work 2 and told his friends at the company who then told thier friends at the company. This is no surprise, he is from India. You guys can label me racist lol because you can get named racist these days for just about anything, but I dealt with people in higher positions in various companies and it's all the same, culture in India is such that for them such actions are normal. Recently a Dentist in Woodstock, Ontario Canada gave all his staff letters that they will be terminated, also just before Christmas, he cut their holidays, and just about every other benefit, talks to his staff like they are trash and it is thanks to these people that he is successful, he circumvented a loophole in a system so he didn't have to pay severance package to his employees. Any company that selects an Indian native for position such as CEO is asking for trouble, they come from culture where being rude, lack of compassion, unfair, taking advantage of others, this is all part of Indian culture, they just keep forgetting that in western countries that won't necessarily be tolerated.

Agreed, there are some insensitive ones, do doubt. Not taking it as a racist either. You have shared ur experiences.. its ok. But, there are many people in Indian Higher Managements that are the epitomes of their field and have maintained a balance with soft but firm and 'staff over stuff' attitude...which ultimately works wonders for their organisations. So, I apologise on their behalf for the messy scenarios but, stay hopeful...I pray some day soon, u meet with sum1 with such a good heart who values people as their own children and help them grow as an individual instead of using them just for profits.

Board of directors and investors take these decisions not a single person . He is one among many and just a messenger.
I think you are not aware of work culture of big corporations
Biggest layoffs in history are like 60000 ,50000 all announced by white American CFO

    • @googlreviews7813
      @googlreviews7813 2 роки тому +8

      @@user-jc1yz4qn2z
You completely missed my message, I deal with various people and companies, large and small. The fact is that Indian culture is very difficult at times. What about the dentist that gave his entire staff layoff notices just before Christmas? He owns the dentist office, he makes all decisions by himself. He did this because Canaian law says you have to give people so many months notice or you have to pay out larger amount in severance package, so now he renews their notice every few months so that he can let anyone go at moments notice because technically they were given notice months ago. So these people now live non stop with fear of being let go empty added after years of service.
These people are scam artists, just look at all call centers that originate from India and call all over the world scamming people out of their money, especially elderly and vulnerable people.
This is not a compassionate or carrying culture, rather one where people consider it success when they successfully scam others.
Yes board of directors make decisions in all corporations, including this bank. But they likely didn't tell him how to conduct his video message, and the way he did it just shows he couldn't care less, but that's to be expected if you deal with this culture.
      Cheers.
