Beautiful. I like a little rustic look to my stitching. There is a place for perfect stitching in textile restoration and the like but we love our stitching looking a bit Bohemian - not made by a machine. My dear Annie, thank you for making our world and my life gentler, happier more beautiful. I love you to bits ^•,•^
Ah thank you very much Kelli, what a lovely comment! Yes absolutely, I'm in awe of the expertise of "proper" embroiderers, and the work involved in restoration and conservation, would have loved to do that for a living in fact, but for me this form of hand-stitching is more relaxing and forgiving and I really do love the look of it. It makes me even happier if I can turn it into something useful as well. So happy you like it :)
Ah you should read the old stories Isobel - not the Disney film version, the old books are just so charming, there's a nostalgic innocence about them, but also lots of really subtly funny moments (more for the adult who is reading, than the child who is listening I think! ) :)
These will be great fun! I think I will do some for the grandkids to store their markers, crayons, scissors, etc. If they like them or like making them, maybe we'll do some for my daughter's classroom. I think that I will use some of our dog food cans as a base. Have a great week & take care.
These are just gorgeous and so useful i wish i had saved all the empty packing tape rolls that i have thrown away during this move but as I've still got many more boxes to tape will definitely be saving the empty rolls and making some of these pots. 🤩🤩
They're such lovely strong rolls Sue, I'm sure there are other things that could be done with them too, you can literally stand on them (end-up) without crushing them, they're so strong! See this is why I'm such a hoarder, everything has such possibilities doesn't it? :)
Thanks Jacquie, ah yea those stories never get old for me. I already found out I could get the pattern on eBay for under a tenner, very tempted, but talked myself out of it for now! :)
awesome project. and i think it is a good idea to explain stitches etc. each time for those who click onto your channel for the first time and don't know how to do those fancy stitches and other things etc.
Thankyou Marie, I'm so pleased you like it. Yes I hope it will be helpful to beginners to show the stitches, and I reckon people can easily skip that bit if they don't want to watch it :)
Thank you so much Liz, I'm so happy you enjoyed it and you like the idea of the pots - this is why we crafters can never throw anything away isn't it? Everything has possibilites ... :)
I gave my daughter a handmade kumihimo necklace of red, black, white, and green floss (with floss at 25 cents each from the thrift store) with a key charm dangle for her 30th birthday a week ago. She gave me the idea of making a bracelet from the remaining thread because I always over-estimate the lengths I'll need. The kumihimo went very fast and was finished last night. I will abandon it with a little 'It's Free, Unlike the People of Palestine' note stapled to it. I leave all my handmade junk journals at Little Free Libraries and the Senior Center, and lately, I have left approximately 17 with a Free Palestine theme. This bracelet (and more in the future) will be abandoned as well, along with the crocheted watermelon key chains and painted rocks I drop here and there. The point of all this rambling is that almost all my crafts are made from thrift store finds, what other people consider trash, recycled books, etc. Did I mention that I use a round loom made from cardboard for the kumihimo? I love your vid because it does indeed make something useful.
That's such a lovely thing to do Rachel, brightening someone's day and giving you a reason to enjoy your crafting and share the joy, and making something new and beautiful out of something old and unwanted - definitely a win/win situation. Now you've made me want to try kumihimo and I've just looked up how to make a cardboard loom - it's on the list, watch this space :)
😊😊 I hope you have a great day too and I hope you have a great day today too and I o hope you have a great day as well 😂😂😊❤😂😊😊😊😂😂😂😊😊😂😊 I hope you have 😂😊😂😂😊 😊😊 I 😊
I really love this ❤. I think I would leave the inside disc separately and maybe add a bit of padding on the card before covering with fabric and then push it in when it’s finished 🤔. It would also hide any raw edges of the inside layer 😉. Thanks for sharing x
Thank you Rhonda, I do still love those stories - I missed the bit where Pooh gets Owl to write Happy Birthday on the empty jar and he writes something like " Hpppupy Biputhdbuthdy" :)
Ive just found your channel ❤❤I'm in love with these boxes! Love your style, no um and ah-ing, straight to the point, and very relaxing. Thankyou so much. New Subscriber. Happy crafting 🇭🇲💖✂️
I’m loving this series of making things out of bazaar scraps! You are such ah an inspiration, thank you for sharing your creativity with us! Will you be making something out of the scraps you got from your Megan Crook/textile guru haul? I bought some packs and wondering what to do with all the different interesting fabrics! 😊
Thank you Katia, that makes me so happy! Yes, I have a few plans for the Megan Crook scraps too - some of the shiny ones will be going in with Bazaar silks to start on my Millefiori-inspired project which I'll be starting this week, the T-shirt/knit type ones I will be patching together to make a simple-shape patchwork top, and the really fancy ones like fur and sequins and all those I hope to make into a couple of funky bags. Some pieces I've set aside to possibly make into a stuffed creature of some kind, stuffed with the tiniest scraps, and of course I have the strips I cut to finish my rag rug. I really should get started on at least one of those this week, so watch this space :)
Hi Annie, greetings from OZ XXXXX I loved this video, can't wait to give it a go, now I'll be asking everyone to save their empty sticky tape rolls for me 😂🤣😂🤣😂 Mmmmmm I had a small tin of spaghetti on toast for lunch today, wonder if I can use that empty tin ??? Why not ??? TFS XXXX😘😘😘
oooh yes those mini tins of spaghetti, or beans, are a perfect size, also tuna tins. Please share some pics if you make some and tag me, I'd love to see :)
You know Annie I was thinking to do this but with tins , I just didn't know how to dress the inside , I was thinking to use paper instead 😂 This is much better and easier and I have loads of those empty tape cardboards . I would add charms to it . Very cute project Annie thank you ❤
Hi Gaby! Oh yes tins would work too, the tuna size would be perfect, or the small baked bean size. Charms and beads would be lovely, good idea! :) Thanks for watching xo
Thank you Anita! 😊I'm so happy you like it and I'm very glad I revisited Pooh, I'd forgotten how much I love those stories. Maybe I should look at Paddington for inspiration next, I used to love The Borrowers as well, bet there are lots of ideas there ... oooh haven't done any miniature making for a while. Oh dear what I really need is a clone to help me do all these projects eh?! :)
Hi, yes they definitely deliver to US, but you can't order directly on the website, the system won't let you. What you need to do is email them with what you would like, then they will quote you for postage and if you confirm they will send you a paypal invoice. I sometimes explain it in my videos but didn't this time sorry. I also didn't mention that if you put "Arty Farty Annie Treat" in the note-to-seller bit at checkout, they'll pop a little extra doodad in with your order :)
Same thing Susan, I know at least a couple of people who have successfully ordered from Canada and been very happy with their packs - just email them what you want to order and they will get back to you, they're really friendly and helpful. They're a small company, so you may have to wait a couple of days for a reply if they have a show going on, but they will soon sort it out for you. I usually say all of this when I mention Bazaar, but I was afraid I was repeating myself too much so I didn't this time! :)
What a fun video! Of course, I now must have a "useful pot to put things in"!😍
I love Winnie the Pooh! Anyone who has a baby gets a copy! I love when they play Pooh Sticks!!
Oh yes! I still love to play Pooh Sticks, can't walk over a bridge without looking for a stick :D

Never been into Poo myself (until now)

Thanks Jess - yes I reckon cans will be a perfect base for these, just watch for sharp eges (voice of experience speaking! ) :)
@@artyfartyannie absolutely will do. We have a grinder (tool) to take any sharp edges off.

They're so strong aren't they, those rolls? I was so happy to find a use for them, glad you like them :)
Love the sound of the scissors. Lovely pots.
Thanks Deb, ah I always love the sound of a good pair of scissors slicing through fabric, also ripping fabric :)
Thank you for the ideas . These are really neat and wonderful for keeping things out of the landfills.
You are so welcome, I'm very happy you like the idea, thank you very much for watching and for the lovely comment :)
Great little project. I'll have to remember it for when I finally use up a roll of tape!
Oh! I can even see making little pots like this for Arty Farty Pods! Just have to figure out how to add a lid... 😉
They're such lovely strong rolls Sue, I'm sure there are other things that could be done with them too, you can literally stand on them (end-up) without crushing them, they're so strong! See this is why I'm such a hoarder, everything has such possibilities doesn't it? :)
Love Winne the Pooh aww a Useful pot to put things in I must read those books again for about the 100th time
What a fantastic idea xx
Thanks Jacquie, ah yea those stories never get old for me. I already found out I could get the pattern on eBay for under a tenner, very tempted, but talked myself out of it for now! :)
I gave my boxed set to Lucy but they are free on audible read by Alan Bennett the perfect background to a crafty endeavour xx

Love the tie skirt ❤
Thanks for watcing Janette :)
I love that Eyore reference. My friends think I might be losing it whenever I mention “that is a great ‘thing’. I can use it to put something in”.
hehe so do I Marija, he's one of my favourite characters and that is one of my favourite stories from Pooh Corner. I still play Pooh Sticks as well :)
