One of the best videos I have seen on this topic. The explanations as to "why" and the examples are great. Your straight edges look so good. I've heard a lot about a mowing edge saving time because having one takes away the need for trimming the edges, but in reality you still have to use some type of a strimmer or edger because even with a mowing edge, the grass grows horizontally over the edge and needs to be trimmed up.
Yes, in reality the edges still need strimming but the metal edges ensure they are perfectly straight and look good. Thank you for watching and your kind feedback. Jenny
I reside in Canada and 6 years ago we bought Ryobi electric String Trimmer with 2.6 hour Lithium battery + charger. Still going strong - same with the lawn mower & hedge Trimmer. I recommend Ryobi.
I just want to mention about your weed trimmer , I think I can tell on the video , the line you use for your trimmer is rounded, I use a line which has 3 sides , it almost looks like triangle and is sharper than the rounded ones , here in the USA is called the ugly line , I have been using it for years and is the best , it won’t tangle as the round one does , maybe you know about them , but I just thought I should mention it . By the way thanks for all your videos, I watch them almost everyday, very informative as I have mentioned before.

I had a first edition battery contour strimmer for years , fantastic. When it packed up I bought a new one, like you the battery failed after a year. I managed to get a replacement for £34 so it’s still working well. (a bit cheaper than new tin edges)
Thank you. It’s our private garden and not open to the public (except on UA-cam of course!). Perhaps one day when we feel it’s ready we may consider it. We both work full time and so we work hard on it most weekends and in our holidays. We are both equally passionate about the garden and have a shared vision of what we want to achieve and there is still lots to do! We started the channel to simply document the journey for ourselves and family. I’m amazed how the channel is growing and I love and learn so much from the comments I receive from all over the world. The channel has pushed me to improve my gardening skills and investigate issues that arise and it’s great if other people find it helps them too.
