I’m 23, and I used to watch this growing up with my grandmother. I was so betrayed when I found out I was watching re runs. I always wanted to see the show live and in person.
I Remember Watching The Lawrence Welk Show When I Was A Kid It Came On Every Saturday Evening At 7pm On Mississippi Public Broadcasting Just Before Keeping Up Appearances At 8pm Then As Time Goes By At 8:30pm And Austin City Limits At 10pm am I Agreed 💯
Remembering Lawrence Welk born on March 11, 1903. He was an American accordionist, bandleader, and television impresario, who hosted The Lawrence Welk Show from 1951 to 1982. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Welk
Do you have the PBS announcement/opening for The Lawrence Welk Show, celebrating more than 40 years on television? It would be kind of neat to have a you tube video with the 40 year opening and the 60 year opening so that you can hear how different they sound since the 40 year opening is so much older and would be analogue or antenna tv and the 60 year opening is much newer and in high definition. If you don't have the 40 year opening it would be very much understandable since it was almost 20 years ago around the turn of the century.
@@josephaliberti no. that's a different one. the one you're referring to is the opening they used from 1993-1995 right before they switched over to the opening they use now. It's very similar though so I can see why you would think of that one. I actually have not been able to find any you tube videos that have the 40 year opening. Fall 1995 is when they started using the current opening except it was 40 years at that point and it's 60 years now.
@Richard Luloff Finally, you might want to check this out. Read the notes on it, too. And good luck finding what you're looking for if non of these are right! It does appear there have been several recent adds of Lawrence Welk related music. Like this one, thank you @Joseph Aliberti! ua-cam.com/video/lY7UuVYx6wE/v-deo.html

The living hell of having to sit through this bullshit as a child while my grandmother watched.
Haha yes same for me, but very fond memories now 👵🏻💜
My father told me he did the same thing
In the 1970s when I was a teen I actually wanted to watch TLWS. My dad said I was square. Good times!
@@chem100 I used to watch this with my parents and sister when we were little on Saturday nights! We’d dance and sing all over the living room!
Hahaha!!! Yes, but I would gladly endure for much longer than an hour to sit with my grandparents again!!
