I’m so glad Hunter is doing better! He is soo sweet and cute. I love seeing him in your videos 💙 I don’t have a silver sword but I was so drawn to the variegated silver sword and have that. I love it ☺️ Thanks for the video!
I've had my silver sword for a year. I didn't put it on a moss pole. The stems and Leaves started growing all wonky and ugly. I have a lot of plants but never have I had a plant put out so many stuck leaves before. Soo much EFNs. My plant stresses me out. I wish you luck with yours. Please keep us updated, many updates throughout this journey of yours 💚
My old dog, beagle/shepherd mix, used to do that head shaking. There is definitely something up with the ears on your baby. When my dog would do that, I used an ointment that I’m pretty sure I got from Amazon, and I would clean her ears with it. I would tilt her head to the side so the ear I was working on would face to the ceiling, fill the ear completely with the solution, then keep the head in the same position, fold the ear back down and use the ball of my palm to massage the fluid. I repeated daily on each ear. It helped her every time. Not easy with a large dog. I had to basically lay on her 😩
yes i have 2 silver sword about the size of that new one you have , i had a very large plant ,but was left with 2 stumps in 2022, i planted them separately and as i say they have grown well , still much smaller than the original plant , oh hunter is so adorable i am so glad he is feeling better , give him a hug from me , an the other doggos too , how old is hunter he looks very handsome with his grey beard 🙂
my dog gets ear infections all the time and yeah the ear shaking is bad. I think it's hematoma's that you are talking about. looks like the vet took good care of him. hope he is feeling better.❤
My silver sword looked like boiled cabbage, yours is absolutely perfect!!! Almost a shame it’ll grow & change! Poor hunter….glad he’s on the mend now xx
I really want to try and keep it bushy and not climbing, let’s see how it goes! Thank you for your thoughts on Hunter, I’m so glad he’s practically back to normal
Hi, im no vet or anything but from experience of rescuing & fostering animals they might have beginnings of ear mites. Try putting a few drops of mineral oil in each ear and massaging. If they do happen to have ear mites, that will smother them. Hope you get it sorted out & thanks for the video!
How have I never heard of ear mites?! 😱 thank you for sharing!! They did the camera in the ears and confirmed infection but I’ll definitely be much more vigilant. Thank you!!
@iamclaudiaq you're welcome! Earmites are alot more common in animals that are mainly outside in my experience. But a shaking of the ears & constant scratching is a big symptom but usually their ears look nasty inside bc of the mite poop. I've seen some pretty bad cases in stray kittens where the inside of their ear was just pure almost black. Gross. Super glad you got them checked out & all fixd up! Total subject change, but do you have a specific video about care for the anthurium woroquenum(idk how to spell it🤣)? I am just getting into anthurium & bought a small war queen last night on palmstreet & a bigger unknown pap hybrid. Hope i didn't bite off more than i can chew lol.
Poor doggie. I hope they will be okay. I agree with another comment: it could be ear mites. Theyre terrible. Afflict cats and dogs. But they can definitely be controlled. I had to chop my silver sword last year. But now it is growing and the leaves are getting bigger 😊
I can’t believe I’d never heard of ear mites. Thankfully the vet confirmed infection and he’s practically back to normal. So exciting on your silver sword!! Do you have it climbing?
@iamclaudiaq I have it tied to bamboo stakes right now. I have thought of getting it a moss pole but I'm not sure that is something I want to deal with.
Somethings going on. Maybe mites. It’s called a hematoma when they shake their heads like that the blood can pool in the tips of the ears. But it sounds like they might need a vet if the mineral oil doesn’t work. Don’t wait too long. Dogs don’t show discomfort until it really hurts. Part of being a wild animal and not wanting to show weakness.
Hi Claudia. Your dog is clearly in distress. Please take her to the vet to get checked out the same way you’d do your birth child. I do not have nor own any pets, but I have a big heart about any kind of animal cruelty or animal sickness. I hope I’m not outta line.
Hi! Thank you for your concern, I share that feeling when it comes to my pups, they’re my babies. Definitely took him to the vet and glad to report he’s pretty much back to normal.
