I enjoyed your video presentation on the old Windows movie maker. What is surprising to me is that it has capabilities that this older version of movie maker has capabilities that the newer movie maker live does not have. Especially when you consider all the third party plug-ins that have been developed by open source developers.

mp3 is an audio file, which is why it puts it in the audio section. I would suggest using only wmv or avi file clips. You can get realplayer to convert your clips to other types. It's free and has absolutely no problems.
In the time line, put the curser at the beginning or end (depending on where you want to cop it) grab the end of the clip and slide the clip to where you want it cropped, and Presto!

Great Tutorial! I use it to make slide shows, and have posted a tutorial on how to create a slideshow, that you can post to FaceBook! WMM is a great program, I use version 2.6

Here is a tip that might boost your confidence of starting to use windows movie maker.
If you can use the standard UA-cam editor and ever made a PowerPoint before, Windows movie maker will be easy.

because your computer should already have it. go into start menu and click all programs and it should be one of the windows applications you see on the list.
go to the blue button on the top left click on it then go down to save movie then hit reccomended for this vid then it will save next go to youtube and hit upload and click on the file where you saved it. Sorry for my english

This is an older version. DL MM 2012 for free from Microsoft which is much better and lets you do more. If you don't know how to get there you can search it here and follow their instructions

m new to this, but i was thinking to put all your videos on the same time line (same row) make sure the sound and video are on different time lines (different rows) 1 st play the video with out adding anything, get it from video not music. im new but hopes it may help )
how can i get pictures or videos of wmv type because windows movie maker is accepting only wmv type.plz help to overcome this problem

You have to be careful because some computers, like mine, came with a program called: Windows 'Live' Movie Maker and although probably similar it's not the same program but a little confusing as even downloads referring to this program say only WMM on the link... So be careful!!!!

1: It's not 600$ to download MM. 2: Once you've uploaded your video, if it's not playing the sound, go to youtube, login, go to-my channel-, pull up your latest uploaded vid. and click edit. Click the icon that looks like a musical note, search for a song in the music search engin, click on the song once it's pulled up, click position track, once positioned click -done positioning-, click save and your DONE! :D GOPED I HELPED!
Help whenever I put my video into the bottom bar it only shows a black screen not a video there is noise put no images.

When I added a title, it wouldn't even show up. I'm still working on it, the movie maker keeps on lagging and not responding.

i wouldnt doubt about win7, but i thought the same so i went and downloaded a vista able movie maker only to find that i already had one on my vista pc =P i dont know if its compatible (cuz ive seen people complain about it not working properly) but my vista came with movie maker is all im sayin. but i really dont doubt the possibility of win7 not having it.

How do you make music start playing at a different time? E.g, I want the chorus of the song to start playing, but it doesn't start until 40 seconds into the song. How do I make it start playing at the start of my video, but 40 seconds into the song. Can you even do that? Windows live movie maker could do that..
